Em ambos os contos, identificam-se conflitos ocasionados por um não equilíbrio humano no olhar o Outro. As diferenças pessoais são constituintes da identidade, porém, colocar em prática atitudes que colaborem para uma melhor compreensão daquele que está diante de si, pode interferir positivamente, de maneira a apontar um melhor convívio humanitário e social entre as pessoas. O suporte teórico da pesquisa está calcado nas contribuições de Emmanuel Levinas, cujo pensamento baseia-se na defesa de uma relação ética entre o Mesmo e o Outro. No seu fazer filosófico, está uma reflexão que não parte da busca pelo problema do ser, mas que pretende inscrever-se numa anterioridade ontológica, numa busca por uma ética que leve à adoção de condutas respeitantes à manifestação da Alteridade. Assim, partindo desse prisma teórico, percebe-se um olhar para a postura ética de seus personagens, o que leva a refletir sobre a conduta humana em seus sentimentos, pensamentos e ações. Essa abordagem pretende, então, propor uma leitura que auxilie no exame dessas reflexões, buscando compreender como os interesses individuais tornam-se um obstáculo à Alteridade, eclipsando sua essência e obliterando sua autêntica natureza. / This argumentative work intends to study the ethics of Alterity within the contemporary relationships, as part of the analysis of the following short stories: Pai contra mãe ("Father versus mother"), by Machado de Assis, e O Legado (“The Legacy”), by Godofredo Rangel. In both narratives, conflicts caused by an unbalanced examination of the Other are identified. The personal differences are constituents of identity; nonetheless, putting into practice actions that collaborate for a better understanding of those we encounter may cause a positive interference, in a way that it points out to a better humanitarian and social coexistence among people. The theoretical frame of this research is set on the contributions of Emmanuel Levinas, whose thought is based on the defense of an ethical relationship between The Same and The Other. In his philosophical practice there is a reflection that does not seek to address the problem of being. Instead, it intends to set itself on an ontological anteriority, in a search for an ethic that leads to the adoption of respectful conducts related to the manifestation of Alterity. Therefore, from this theoretical prism, the ethical stance of Godofredo’s characters can be observed, which leads us to reflect on the human conduct regarding their feelings, thoughts and actions. Hence, such approach intends to propose an analysis that can assist the examination of these reflections, seeking to understand how individual interests become an obstacle to Alterity, eclipsing its essence and obliterating its authentic nature.

Há várias evidências de que esse projeto possui consonância com aquele delineado por Euclides da Cunha em sua experiência na Amazônia, a respeito do qual se referiu como sua segunda obra vingadora depois de Os Sertões. Diante disso, realizamos uma breve retrospectiva da história da literatura amazônica, para compreender de que maneira Euclides e Rangel dialogam com essa dimensão da cultura nacional. Na sequência, analisamos o plano estético-literário do trabalho de Euclides como forma de comparar e extrair características estilísticas da literatura amazônica de Alberto Rangel, que alia também arte e ciência, binômio da literatura positivista. Por fim, procedemos a uma leitura hermenêutica das narrativas de Inferno Verde e Sombras n’água, indicando os diferentes matizes do projeto literário de Rangel. _______________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT / In this dissertation, we study the Amazon literary project of Alberto Rangel through reading tales of Inferno Verde (1908) and Sombras n’água (1913). There are a lot of evidences that this project has a line with the project outlined by Euclides da Cunha after his experience in Brazilian Amazon, about which he has referred to as his second vindictive book after Os Sertões. Therefore, we make a brief retrospective of the history of Amazon literature to understand how Euclides and Rangel are connected to this dimension of Brazilian culture. Besides, we analyze the aesthetic-literary Euclides' work as a way to compare and extract stylistic features of Alberto Rangel’s Amazon literature, which combines art and science, the binomial of positivist literature. Finally, we perform a hermeneutic reading of the narratives of Inferno Verde and Sombras n’água to indicate the different aspects of literary project of Rangel.

We seek in this paper to analyze some of the major theoretical formulations of the author, focusing primarily on two concepts: basic duality and the business cycle. It was whith the formulation of these and other concepts that he business cycle. It was with the formulation of these and other concepts that he could propose a structural understanding of the dynamics of inflation in Brazil and develop a new interpretation of the dynamics of inflation in Brazil and develop a new interpretation of the Brazilian agrarian structure, through the concept of Fourth Income. In its general sense, this paper therefore proposes a historiographical introduction of thought and overall word of Ignácio Rangel. / Esta dissertação apresenta um estudo sistemático sobre a obra e o pensamento de Ignácio Rangel, um dos mais importantes intelectuais brasileiros do século XX por ter desenvolvido originais interpretações sobre a realidade histórica e política do Brasil. Procuramos neste trabalho analisar algumas das principais formulações teóricas do autor, centradas fundamentalmente em dois conceitos: o de dualidade básica e o de ciclo econômico. Foi com a formulação desses e de outros conceitos que ele conseguiu propor um entendimento estrutural da dinâmica da inflação brasileira e elaborar uma nova interpretação da estrutura agrária brasileira, através do conceito de Quarta Renda. No seu sentido geral, esta dissertação propõe, portanto, uma introdução historiográfica do pensamento e conjunto da obra de Ignácio Rangel.

Por meio do levantamento da atuação do Banco Nacional de Habitação (BNH), da Caixa Econômica Federal (CEF), e da Companhia de Desenvolvimento Habitacional e Urbano do Estado de São Paulo (CDHU), focando principalmente na produção de habitações, buscamos entender seus papéis e os interesses consubstanciados por trás de suas ações. Para a identificação destes interesses, realizamos ampla análise sobre o contexto histórico em que estas políticas e seus agentes foram forjados, o que nos levou ao debate sobre as principais dinâmicas de nossa formação socioespacial, por meio da teoria da dualidade básica da economia brasileira, de Ignácio Rangel. O resultado final é um esforço teórico na tentativa de entender as relações de poder e de hegemonia que se estabelecem no processo de produção do espaço, das quais a política habitacional é apenas uma delas / Abstract: This study aims to evaluate the role of state agents responsible for execute the housing policy in the urban development in São Paulo State, focusing on the comparative study of four cities: Araçatuba, Marília, Presidente Prudente and São José do Rio Preto. Trough the evaluation of the performance of Banco Nacional de Habitação (BNH), the Caixa Economica Federal (CEF) and the Companhia de Desenvolvimento Habitacional e Urbano do estado de São Paulo (CDHU), focusing mainly on the production of housing, we seek to understand their roles and interests embodied behind their actions. To identify these concerns, we conducted extensive analysis on the historical context in which these policies and their agents were forged, which led us to the debate on key dynamics of our sociospatial formation, through the theory of the basic duality of the Brazilian economy, the Ignacio Rangel. The end result is a theoretical effort in trying to understand power and hegemony relationships that are established in the production of space, of which housing policy is only one of them / Mestre
