CARDOSO.pdf: 18250716 bytes, checksum: 3d4c82c599397b6cafcc66385555685d (MD5) Previous issue date: 2017-02-07 / Water environments are spaces that present ecological-functional importance for the maintenance of given biodiversity. Nonetheless, in the history of cities, its physicalenvironmental decharactation is recurrent, specially by the adoption of solutions focusing hydrosanitarism which do not take into consideration the relations between the environmental and urban dynamics. The structural contradictions of the contemporary urbanization process intensify the problems and the challenges to be overcome. The contemporary interventions studied show a tendency to rethink the techno-scientific model adopting new ecological-environmental paradigms, developed in accordance to the specificities of its environmental and urban context. As a contributing result of the research, recommendations for the elaboration of projects in a dialogical and systemic ways are presented. First of all, the aspects related to the environmental dynamics and the transformations resulting from the process of urbanization are approached, highlighting inadequate interventions that drive the population away from the physical, social and cultural relationship with urban waterways and the new perspectives which embody such watershed as structural element. Following, the background of urbanism with environmental-ecological concerns is exposed, its strands and a survey of national and international experiences of projects carried out in water environments, as well as the reflection on the new paradigms of urbanism with an ecological-environmental preoccupation. 150 projects in 24 countries, were surveyed and analyzed, due to the interventions value water within urban environments. From these, three projects were selected and analyzed in detail, using an specific methodology that seeks to establish a systemic and dialogical reading. In the last part of the thesis, recommendations in relation to methodological aspects and solutions to intervention projects that promote the incorporation and valorization of the water environment elements in the morphology and the urban landscape are presented, taking into consideration the relations between the environmental and urban dynamics. It was concluded that the projects of intervention in urban water environments must establish the dialectic among the environmental, urban and human dimension, having as an assumption that mankind does not create new systems, that the city has its own rationality and that the urban water environments are spaces with multiple functions. Its design must come from the comprehension of the environmental and urban dynamics, establishing principles and criteria coherent to this reality, which consider the multiple dimensional and scaled relations, featuring multiple objectives to respond to the complexity of the urban environment. The intervention should contemplate and/or articulate the scales of the regional and urban planning with punctual interventions in the water environment. The differential, which qualifies the intervention in urban water environments, is the valorization of the water as an aesthetic element and its incorporation as element of the morphology and of the urban landscape, from the comprehension of its watershed and of the relation of larger and smaller scales.

They use well-defined interfaces, using web standard protocols, making possible the communication between entities implemented on different platforms. Due to these features, Web services can be integrated as services compositions to form more robust loose coupling applications. Web services are subject to failures, unwanted situations that may compromise the business process partially or completely. Failures can occur both in the design of compositions as in the execution of compositions. As a result, it is essential to create mechanisms to make the implementation of service compositions more robust and to treat failures. Specifically, we propose the support for fault recovery in service compositions described in PEWS language and executed on PEWS-AM, an graph reduction machine. To support recovery failure on PEWS-AM, we extend the PEWS language specification and adapted the rules of translation and reduction of graphs for this machine. These contributions were made both in the model of abstract machine as at the implementation level / Servi?os Web s?o unidades de software que permitem o acesso a um ou mais recursos, dando suporte ? implanta??o de processos de neg?cios na Web. / The pre-salt province is composed by large amounts of light oil and with good quality, a reality that puts Brazil in a strategic position facing the great demand for energy worldwide. In this province are the largest discoveries in the world in the last ten years; areas as Libra, Franco and Lula field, everyone containing volumes greater than 8 billion recoverable oil barrels. To develop and optimize the production of these fields, a study was done for choosing the improved oil recovery methods. The main motivations were the presence of carbon dioxide (CO2) as a contaminant and the strategic decision of do not discard it, combined with high GOR (gas-oil ratio) of the reservoir fluid. The method should take advantage of the unique abundant resources: seawater and produced gas. This way, the process of matching these resources in the water alterning gas injection (WAG) became a good option. In this master?s dissertation, it was developed a reservoir model with average characteristics of the Brazilian pre-salt, where was applied the improved oil recovery method of water alternating gas. The production of this reservoir was analyzed by parameters as: the first fluid injected in the injection process, position of the injection wells completion, injection water and gas rate and cycle time. The results showed a good performance of the method, with up to 26% of gains in the recovery factor regarding the primary recovery, since the application of water injection and gas, individually, was not able to overcome 10 % of gain. The most influential parameter found in the results was the cycle time, with higher recovery factor values obtained with the use of shorter times.

Several strategies have been used in order to accelerate post-exercise recovery. Although water immersion is a common strategy among athletes, it effectiveness in accelerate the recovery is not yet established, and the effects of temperature water immersion on performance are not clear. Thus, this study evaluated the effects of passive recovery water immersion at different temperatures on performance following an exercise session.Nine physically active men (24 ? 6 years old, 72 ? 13 kg, 177 ? 7 cm, peak oxygen consumption (VO2peak) of 55 ? 4 mL?kg- 1?min-1), participated of four randomized experimental sessions. Each session consisted of eccentric knee flexion (3 x 10 repetitions of 100% from one maximum repetition) and 90 minutes of treadmill running at 70% of VO2peak, followed by 15 minutes of passive recovery by water immersion at 15?C, 28?C or 38?C and 30 minutes resting in supine position at room temperature (20 ? 2?C). In the control session, volunteers remained seated for 15 minutes at room temperature after exercise. After four hours of resting, in order to evaluate recovery strategies, the volunteers underwent a 5 km of maximal self-paced treadmill running followed by the Wingate test. Prior to experimental sessions, rested volunteers completed 5 km of maximal self-paced running and the Wingate test, which were used as reference performance values. Rectal temperature (Tret), heart rate (HR) and heart rate variability indexes (HRV indexes) were measured through the entire session. Excess post-exercise oxygen consumption (EPOC) was measured during recovery period. The markers of muscle damage, creatine kinase (CK) and aspartate aminotransferase (AST) and total leukocyte count were measured before and after exercise, after immersion, before and after performance tests, and 24 hours after the experimental exercise. Average speed during 5 km of maximal self-paced treadmill running and relative peak power during Wingate test were not different between experimental conditions. Water immersion at 15?C reduced Tret, HR and HRV indexes to baseline values after recovery. EPOC was higher in water immersion at 15?C and 28?C. During 5 km of maximal self-paced treadmill running and Wingate test, Tret and HR were not different between experimental conditions. The experimental exercise session induced muscle damage and leukocytosis. However, there was no difference in serum CK, AST and total leukocyte count between experimental conditions. The recovery by water immersion at different temperatures was not effective in modify the physical performance 4 hours after a session of prolonged exercise.

Disserta??o (Mestrado) ? One of the problems that the producer may face is the recovery of degraded areas, which may contain, among other contaminants, herbicide residues. 2,4-D and picloram are auxin mimicking hormonal herbicides. Among the plant groups, the species of the riparian forests have been little reported as to the effects of residues of these herbicides on the environment. Micromorphological and micromorphometric analyzes are important tools to aid in the early diagnosis of injury, since visible changes may appear in the later stages of intoxication. The objective of this work was to evaluate the initial development of ten substrate tree species with residues from of the 2,4-D + picloram herbicide mixture and to verify the effects on the anatomical modifications of Mabea fistulifera and Zeyheria tuberculosa. In a randomized block design with three replicates, 40 treatments were distributed in a 4x10 factorial scheme. The first factor was composed of four doses of the commercial mixture of 2,4-D + picloram corresponding to 0,00; 0,166; 0,336 and 0,666 g ha-1 (Tordon?, containing 240 g of 2,4-D and 64 g of picloram per liter). The second factor was composed of ten tree species: Machaerium opacum Vogel, Machaerium nyctitans (Vell.) Benth., Cassia ferruginea (Schrad.) Schrad. ex DC., Senna macranthera (DC. ex. Collad.) H.S. Benth., Mabea fistulifera Mart. and Zeyheria tuberculosa (Vell) Bureau ex Verl. Morphological and anatomical evaluations in young plants were performed according to the standard methodology. For the morphological variables of the ten tree species were evaluated: intoxication, survival, seedling height, number of leaves, leaf area, dry mass of shoot and root, stem diameter, root volume, emergency speed index and emergency. Through micromorphometric evaluations, tissue thickness, adaxial and abaxial epidermis, pali?adic and lacunacetic parenchyma were measured, in the cross section of the leaves of Mabea fistulifera and Zeyheria tuberculosa, in addition to the total lamina. For leaf area, leaf photographs were taken and measured using Image K software. Tree species survived the application of the product, with variation in sensitivity. Residues of the herbicide mixture adversely affected most of the tested species in relation to initial developmental assessments. M. fistulifera, P. gonoacantha and Z. tuberculosa presented greater tolerance to the herbicide mixture. In relation to the anatomy and leaf area, in general, the species Z. tuberculosa was negatively affected by the herbicides. M. fistulifera was more tolerant to the presence of contaminants.

The occurrence of heavy oil has increased significantly and pointing to a need for greater investment in the exploitation of deposits and therefore new methods to recover that oil. There are economic forecasts that by 2025, the heavy oil will be the main source of fossil energy in the world. One such method is the use of solvent vaporized VAPEX which is known as a recovery method which consists of two horizontal wells parallel to each other, with a gun and another producer, which uses as an injection solvent that is vaporized in order to reduce the viscosity of oil or bitumen, facilitating the flow to the producing well. This method was proposed by Dr. Roger Butler, in 1991. The importance of this study is to analyze how the influence some operational reservoir and parameters are important in the process VAPEX, such as accumulation of oil produced in the recovery factor in flow injection and production rate. Parameters such as flow injection, spacing between wells, type of solvent to be injected, vertical permeability and oil viscosity were addressed in this study. The results showed that the oil viscosity is the parameter that showed statistically significant influence, then the choice of Heptane solvent to be injected showed a greater recovery of oil compared to other solvents chosen, considering the spacing between the wells was shown that for a greater distance between the wells to produce more oil / Existem no mundo diversos tipos de ?leo que apresentam uma diversidade de valores de densidade e viscosidade, essas s?o caracter?sticas para identificar se um ?leo ? leve, pesado ou at? mesmo ultrapesado.

The advanced recovery method with alternating - CO2 injection WAG uses the injection of water and gas, normally miscible that will come in contact with the stock oil. In Brazil with the discovery of pre-salt layer that gas gained prominence. The amount of CO2 present in the oil produced in the pre-salt layer, as well as some reservoirs is one of the challenges to be overcome in relation to sustainable production once this gas needs to be processed in some way. Many targets for CO2 are proposed by researchers to describe some alternatives to the use of CO2 gas produced such as enhanced recovery, storage depleted fields, salt caverns storage and marketing of CO2 even in plants. The largest oil discoveries in Brazil have recently been made by Petrobras in the pre -salt layer located between the states of Santa Catarina and Esp?rito Santo, where he met large volumes of light oil with a density of approximately 28 ? API, low acidity and low sulfur content. This oil that has a large amount of dissolved CO2 and thus a pioneering solution for the fate of this gas comes with an advanced recovery. The objective of this research is to analyze which parameters had the greatest influence on the enhanced recovery process. The simulations were performed using the "GEM" module of the Computer Modelling Group, with the aim of studying the advanced recovery method in question. For this work, semi - synthetic models were used with reservoir and fluid data that can be extrapolated to practical situations in the Brazilian Northeast. The results showed the influence of the alternating injection of water and gas on the recovery factor and flow rate of oil production process, when compared to primary recovery and continuous water injection or continuous gas injection / O m?todo de recupera??o avan?ada com inje??o alternada WAG-CO2 utiliza da inje??o de ?gua e g?s, g?s esse normalmente misc?vel que vai entrar em contato com o banco de ?leo.

Enhanced oil recovery has been the focus of countless research projects aiming for the improvement of the in place oil recovery from the reservoirs, especially because mature fields and/or fields containing heavy oil require further assistance to ensure oil flow and consequent production. Having that in mind, physical and chemical properties such as the rheological behaviour and the superficial tension of polymers, for different concentrations and temperatures, were studied. After obtaining the polymers critical aggregation concentration (c.a.c.), the interfacial tension (IFT) between the polyacrylamide/oil solutions was evaluated, as well as for the solutions containing surfactant (SB) and EDTA. The permeability and the application of those solutions in enhanced oil recovery of those solutions was also observed using the Botucatu arenite. The results obtained demonstrated that the increase in the polymers ionicity promotes an increase in the solution viscosity. An increase in temperature reduced the viscosity for the low ionicity polyacrylamides, but caused an increase in the viscosity for some of the high ionicity ones. Concerning permeability, the anionic polymers presented higher injection pressure values when compared to the lower ionicity ones, and that behaviour is believed to be related to the viscosities of those polymers, which are higher. Regarding superficial tension, the c.a.c. region for each polymer was observed, and the conclusion was that the ionic charges had little or no influence in the reduction of interfacial tensions between the oil and the polymers, while the decrease in IFT for all solutions was observed when compared to the system formed by water and oil. The aforementioned results are a good indicator that the polymers studied are suitable for the enhanced oil recovery process. By injecting the solutions into the porous media, it was observed that the solutions formed by SB associated to EDTA improved the flow inside the porous media. The results indicated that the enhanced oil recovery using the polymer/ surfactant/ EDTA solutions reached a recovery factor of 18 % of the original oil. In addition, it could be observed that polymers presenting the higher ionicity, associated to surfactant and EDTA, promoted a synergy in the enhanced oil recovery when compared to the solutions containing only polymers.

The images databases, in addition to these needs, require a representation of the images so that the semantic content characteristics are considered. Accordingly, several proposals such as the textual annotations based retrieval has been made. In the annotations approach, the recovery is based on the comparison between the textual description that a user can make of images and descriptions of the images stored in database. Among its drawbacks, it is noted that the textual description is very dependent on the observer, in addition to the computational effort required to describe all the images in database. Another approach is the content based image retrieval - CBIR, where each image is represented by low-level features such as: color, shape, texture, etc. In this sense, the results in the area of CBIR has been very promising. However, the representation of the images semantic by low-level features is an open problem. New algorithms for the extraction of features as well as new methods of indexing have been proposed in the literature. However, these algorithms become increasingly complex. So, doing an analysis, it is natural to ask whether there is a relationship between semantics and low-level features extracted in an image? and if there is a relationship, which descriptors better represent the semantic? which leads us to a new question: how to use descriptors to represent the content of the images?. The work presented in this thesis, proposes a method to analyze the relationship between low-level descriptors and semantics in an attempt to answer the questions before. Still, it was observed that there are three possibilities of indexing images: Using composed characteristic vectors, using parallel and independent index structures (for each descriptor or set of them) and using characteristic vectors sorted in sequential order. Thus, the first two forms have been widely studied and applied in literature, but there were no records of the third way has even been explored. So this thesis also proposes to index using a sequential structure of descriptors and also the order of these descriptors should be based on the relationship that exists between each descriptor and semantics of the users. Finally, the proposed index in this thesis revealed better than the traditional approachs and yet, was showed experimentally that the order in this sequence is important and there is a direct relationship between this order and the relationship of low-level descriptors with the semantics of the users / Na recupera??o de imagens basada no conte?do - CBIR, cada imagem ? representada pelas suas caracter?sticas de baixo n?vel como s?o: cor, forma, textura, etc.
