The gully area was vegetated using legume trees inoculated with specific N2- fixing bacteria and arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) in 2004. To take the data and geostatistical analysis a regular grid of 5 x 5 m, with a total of 92 points, was defined. Soil samples were collected at the 0-10 cm depth and the following variables were analyzed: Al, pH, Ca, Mg, Ca+Mg, P, K, organic C, granulometry, soil moisture, and soil fauna (using pitfall traps). The software GEOEST was used for data analysis and definition of semivariograms to verify the spatial dependency and to choose the statistical model, using cross validation. Geostatistical analyses applied in the mapping of the spatial variability of soil chemical, physical and biological attributes of the gully area was a useful tool in the degraded gully to identify the areas, and the soil management for application of lime, fertilizers and planting the tree seedlings. The soil sampling for environmental monitoring of gully erosion areas should consider, at least, the slope position internally and externally in the gully area, dividing it in upper, medium and lower positions. Spatial dependence was observed in all soil chemical and physical attributes, and only 11 of the soil fauna groups out of 31 evaluated presented spatial dependence. The random sampling without considering the range value may result in wrong interpretation of data. The differences in soil organic C between the gully inner and outer sections clearly proves how difficult is to return the soil organic matter to the original levels, one it is lost in the soil. The analysis of data showed that altitude, soil moisture, sand and silt content, Ca+Mg, organic C, amounts of Coleoptera and Poduromorpha, had a strong spatial dependence. On the other hand, clay content, pH, Al, Ca, Mg, P, Acari, Entomobryomorpha, Collembola, fauna total, Hymenoptera, Formicidae, Shannon index, and Isoptera, presented a moderate degree of spatial dependence, and the richness index and Diptera had a weak degree of spatial dependence. / O objetivo do trabalho foi estudar a variabilidade espacial de atributos qu?micos e f?sicos do solo e a fauna ep?gea em uma vo?oroca revegetada no munic?pio de Pinheiral. Na revegeta??o da vo?oroca foram plantadas leguminosas arb?reas inoculadas com bact?rias fixadoras de N2 espec?ficas e fungos micorr?zicos arbusculares (FMA) no ano de 2004. Para a coleta de dados e para permitir a an?lise geoestat?stica foi instalada uma grade com espa?amento regular de 5 x 5 m, num total de 92 pontos. As amostras de solo foram coletadas na profundidade de 0-10 cm e as seguintes vari?veis foram analisadas: Al, pH, Ca, Mg, Ca + Mg, P, K, Carbono org?nico, granulometria, umidade gravim?trica e a fauna do solo ep?gea (usando pitfall). Na an?lise de dados utilizou-se o programa GEOEST que ? um pacote de programas geoestat?sticos onde foram constru?dos semivariogramas para verificar a depend?ncia espacial e a escolha do modelo estat?stico por valida??o cruzada. A an?lise geoestat?stica no mapeamento da variabilidade espacial dos atributos qu?micos, f?sicos e biol?gicos em vo?orocas mostrou ser uma ferramenta muito ?til neste ambiente degradado e na identifica??o das ?reas, podendo manejar o solo com o uso mais eficiente de adubos e corretivos para o plantio de novas mudas. Amostragem de monitoramento ambiental em ?reas de vo?oroca deve considerar, no m?nimo, a posi??o do relevo em parte interna e externa e a posi??o do vo?orocamento em ter?o superior, ter?o m?dio e ter?o inferior. A depend?ncia espacial foi observada em todos os atributos qu?micos e f?sicos e apenas 11 grupos da fauna do solo dos 31 coletados apresentaram depend?ncia espacial. Amostragem ao acaso em vo?orocas pode resultar em interpreta??o err?nea dos dados. A diferencia??o dos teores de carbono org?nico encontrados na parte interna e externa da vo?oroca deixa clara a dificuldade de se retornar a mat?ria org?nica do solo ap?s sua perda. Na an?lise do grau de depend?ncia espacial, a altitude, umidade gravim?trica, areia, silte, Ca+Mg, Corg, Coleoptera e Poduromorpha apresentaram grau forte. Por outro lado, o teor de argila, pH, Al, Ca, Mg, P, Acari, Entomobryomorpha, Collembola, total da fauna, Hymenoptera, Formicidae, o somat?rio de outros grupos, ?ndice de Shannon e Isoptera apresentaram grau moderado, enquanto a Riqueza e Diptera mostraram grau fraco.

Esta t?cnica ? muito aceita por profissionais da sa?de e atletas, por?m os estudos ainda s?o controversos em rela??o aos benef?cios fisiol?gicos Objetivo: Avaliar o efeito acumulativo de CWI no processo de recupera??o muscular de atletas de futebol. Materiais e M?todos: Trata-se de um ensaio cl?nico randomizado. Foram inclu?dos 23 atletas aleatoriamente divididos em dois grupos: controle (10 minutos sentados) e experimental (CWI 10?C ?10 minutos). Ao todo, foram realizadas 7 sess?es imediatamente ap?s o treino. Foram avaliados, Creatina Quinase (CK), Lactato Desidrogenase (LDH), Atividade Eletromiogr?fica (pico do reto anterior, vasto lateral, b?ceps femoral), For?a Isom?trica de flexores e extensores de joelho, Pot?ncia do Salto, Percep??o Subjetiva de Esfor?o (PSE) e Percep??o de Recupera??o (PR). As avalia??es funcionais ocorreram no primeiro dia (pr? e p?s treino) e repetidas no ?ltimo dia. Al?m destes momentos, CK e LDH foram mensuradas com 24 horas ap?s o esfor?o. PSE e SR foram coletadas todos os dias. A an?lise estat?stica utilizada foi a Anova Mista, com Post-Hoc de Bonferroni, considerando o n?vel de signific?ncia de 5%. Resultados: Observou-se intera??o significativa nos n?veis de CK (p=0,02), tempo (p=0,005) e para grupos nos dias 9 e 10 (p= 0,01). Para LDH houve diferen?a intragrupos (p=0,03) e intergrupos no dia 10 (p=0,03). N?o obtiveram diferen?as para as an?lises de desempenho neuromuscular nem para a PSE. Para a SR houveram diferen?as intragrupos (p=0,001) e intergrupos (P=0,033) para o quinto e sexto dia. Conclus?o: O uso acumulativo da crioterapia por imers?o atenua o dano muscular, n?o inibe o processo de adapta??o para melhora do desempenho e promove sensa??o de recupera??o. / Football is a sport with congested calendars, which requires recovery strategies such as cold water immersion (CWI). This recovery technique is well spread through football clubs, although it lacks a profound physiologic investigation to understand its effects on athlete?s body. Objectives: The main objective of this study is to evaluate the effect of a long-term CWI exposure in football athlete?s. Methodology: In order to answer this question, we performed a randomized clinical trial in 23 sub-20 football athletes. All subjects were randomly divided into two groups; a control group (10 minutes seated rest) and a CWI group (10 minutes in a 10?C) during seven days in a row. We evaluated creatine kinase (CK) and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) as molecular biomarkers for muscle damage. The blood samples were collected on the first, second, ninth and tenth days. Yet, we assessed the peak of muscle activity and isometric strength of the knee flexors and extensors, potency of lower limbs, perceived exertion (PE) and total quality recovery perceived (TQRPer) in order to understand the treatment physiological effect on the subjects on the first and last day of experiments (before and after training). Results: We found that CK is lower in the CWI group compared to control on the days 9 and 10 but not on the first applications. The LDH levels were different between groups only on the last evaluation on the tenth day. We did not find any changes in the neuromuscular performance or on the PE evaluation. Although, we found differences in the TQRPer evaluation comparing CWI and control groups on the fifth and sixth days. Conclusion: The long-term CWI exposure attenuates muscles damage, increase the perceived recovery and doesn?t inhibit the process of adaptation necessary for the performance improvement.

Metodologia: Primeira fase: (Estudo 1) Realizou-se estudo randomizado e balanceado para avaliar o desempenho, onde foram irradiadas 4 doses de terapia LED: LED placebo (0 J/cm2), LED 21s (3,6J/cm2), LED 42s (7,2J/cm2), LED 84s (14,4J/cm2), em dias distintos, com 24h de intervalo, antes de cada teste de Wingate (TW). (Estudo 5) Realizou-se estudo randomizado e balanceado onde ciclistas foram submetidos a 3 condi??es experimentais: terapia LED, aquecimento no cicloerg?metro e controle, em dias distintos, com 24h de intervalo, antes de cada TW. Vari?veis de desempenho f?sico e atividade eletromiogr?fica do m?sculo vasto lateral foram avaliadas durante os 3 TW. Coletas de sangue antes, imediatamente ap?s cada condi??o experimental e 3 e 4 minutos ap?s o TW foram realizadas para mensura??o de lactato e am?nia. Resultados: O prot?tipo 1 e 2 n?o foram eficazes na melhora do desempenho f?sico de alta intensidade e curta dura??o, bem como em componentes metab?lico, par?metros inflamat?rios e de les?o muscular. Al?m disso, o TW pareceu n?o ter dura??o suficiente para promover les?o muscular e consequente altera??o em componentes metab?licos e inflamat?rios. A modalidade de aquecimento levou a melhora do desempenho f?sico quando comparada com a terapia LED e controle. Conclus?o: Os achados dos estudos realizados n?o evidenciaram a efetividade da terapia LED, nas condi??es experimentais propostas, no desempenho f?sico de alta intensidade e curta dura??o. / Introduction: The ability of an individual to generate and maintain high peak power is critical to performance in high intensity exercise. Thus, the development and study of new technologies that can improve the performance or minimize the occurrence of injuries during recovery from high intensity exercise could contribute to the improvement of the preparation and planning of training. Objectives: Prepare a device for therapy LED, on a single wavelength, with a larger irradiation area and to evaluate the influence of therapy in physical performance, as well as metabolic components, and inflammatory parameters during muscle injury recovery period of exercise of high intensity and short duration (30s) on a cycle ergometer in physically active men and cyclists. Methodology: First stage (Study 1) was conducted randomized and balanced study to evaluate the performance, where 4 doses of therapy were irradiated LED: LED placebo (0 J/cm2), LED 21s (3.6 J/cm2), LED 42s (7.2 J/cm2), LED 84s (14.4 J/cm2), on different days, with 24 hours of interval before each Wingate test (TW). (Study 2) 4 men underwent blood sampling before and after (3, 60, 120 minutes and 24 hours) to make TW to measure plasma concentrations of CK, CRP, and FIB. Second phase: (Study 3) was performed randomized and balanced study which was performed 2 TW before and after treatment with placebo (0 J/cm2) or experimental (3.6 J/cm2) LED on different days, with 24 hours of interval for evaluation of physical performance. Blood samples before the first TW as well as 3 minutes after the first and second TW and 24 hours after the second TW were performed for the measurement of CK, PCR, and FIB. The blood concentration of ammonia was measured before the first TW and 4 minutes after the second TW. Third phase: (Study 4) was performed randomized and balanced study in which three doses of therapy were tested LED: LED placebo (0 J/cm2) , LED 23s (3.94 J/cm2) or LED 46s (7.88 J / cm2), on different days, with 24h interval for evaluation of physical performance. (Study 5) was performed randomized and balanced study where cyclists underwent 3 experimental conditions: LED therapy, heating in the cycle ergometer and control, on different days, with 24 hours of interval before each TW Variables of physical performance and electromyographic activity of the vastus lateralis muscle were assessed during the 3 TW. Blood samples before and immediately after each experimental condition and 3 to 4 minutes after the TW were performed for measurement of lactate and ammonia. Results: The prototype 1 and 2 was not effective in improving the physical performance of high intensity and short duration, as well as metabolic components, inflammatory parameters and muscle injury. Moreover, TW did not seem sufficient to promote muscle injury and the consequent inflammatory and metabolic changes in component life. The mode of heating led to improved muscle performance compared to LED therapy and control. Conclusion: The findings of the studies did not demonstrate the efficacy of LED therapy, in the experimental conditions proposed, on physical performance of high intensity and short duration. / Disserta??o (Mestrado) ? Dessa forma, hipertensos poderiam apresentar respostas de dissipa??o de calor aprimoradas, especialmente durante a recupera??o do exerc?cio f?sico moderado realizado sob condi??o de estresse t?rmico. Diante disso, o objetivo do estudo foi avaliar as respostas termorregulat?rias de sujeitos hipertensos durante e na recupera??o de exerc?cio f?sico de intensidade moderada realizado em ambiente quente. Para tanto, oito hipertensos essenciais (H) e oito normotensos (N) (idade: 46,5?1,3 e 45,6?1,4 anos; ?ndice de massa corporal: 25,8?0,8 e 25,6?0,6 kg/m2; press?o arterial m?dia: 98,0?2,8 e 86,0?2,3 mmHg, respectivamente) permaneceram na c?mara ambiental (38?C e 60% umidade relativa do ar) durante 2h e 30 minutos (30 minutos em repouso, 1h de exerc?cio na esteira (50% VO2pico) e 1h em recupera??o do exerc?cio). Temperaturas da pele e corporal interna, frequ?ncia card?aca e press?o arterial foram mensuradas. C?lculos de produ??o de calor, taxa de ac?mulo de calor, temperatura corporal, troca de calor por radia??o, convec??o, e atrav?s do trato respirat?rio e suor evaporado foram realizados a partir das vari?veis coletadas. Como resultados, a press?o arterial m?dia dos hipertensos foi maior do que dos normotensos durante todo o protocolo experimental (p < 0,05). Apesar dos par?metros termorregulat?rios avaliados n?o terem sido diferentes entre grupos hipertensos e normotensos em repouso e durante o exerc?cio f?sico no calor, os hipertensos apresentaram menor quantidade de calor acumulado (H: -24,23 ? 3,39 W/m?, N: -13,63 ? 2,24 W/m?, p = 0,03), maior varia??o na temperatura corporal (H: -0,62 ? 0,05 ?C, N: -0,35? 0,12 ?C, p = 0,03) e maior quantidade de suor evaporado (H: -106,1 ? 4,59 W/m?, N: -91,15 ? 3,24 W/m?, p = 0,01) no per?odo de recupera??o p?s-exerc?cio. Al?m disso, a quantidade de suor evaporado relacionou-se com calor acumulado (r = 0,82, p < 0,001) e com a varia??o da temperatura corporal durante a recupera??o p?s-exerc?cio f?sico (r = 0,82, p < 0,001). Concluindo, indiv?duos hipertensos essenciais, em uso dos medicamentos iECA e diur?ticos, apresentam dissipa??o de calor acumulado aprimorada, por meio da evapora??o do suor e, consequentemente, maior resfriamento corporal durante a recupera??o de exerc?cio f?sico de intensidade moderado em ambiente quente. Methods: A total of 8 essential hypertensive (H) and 8 normotensive participants (N) (age: 46.5 ? 1.3 and 45.6 ? 1.4 years, BMI: 25.8 ? 0.8 and 25.6 ? 0.6 kg/m2, mean arterial pressure: 98.0 ? 2.8 and 86.0 ? 2.3 mmHg, respectively) remained in the environmental chamber (38 ?C and 60 % relative humidity) for 2 hours and 30 minutes (30 min at rest, 1 h of treadmill exercise at 50 % of VO2max and 1 h at rest during recovery exercise). Skin and core temperatures, heart rate and blood pressure were measured. Calculations of heat production, heat storage, mean body temperature, heat exchange by radiation, convection and evaporated sweat were performed from the collected variables. Results: The mean blood pressure of the hypertensive subjects was higher than of the normotensive participants throughout the experimental protocol (p < 0.05). Although the thermoregulatory parameters evaluated did not differ between groups at rest and during exercise, the hypertensive subjects had lower amounts of heat storage (H: -24.23 ? 3.39 W/m?, N: -13.63 ? 2,2.4 W/m?, p = 0.03), greater variations in body temperature (H: -0.62 ? 0.05 ?C, N: -0.35? 0.12 ?C, p = 0.03), and a greater amount of evaporated sweat (H: -106.1 ? 4.59 W/m?, N: -91.15 ? 3.24 W/m?, p = 0.01) during the recovery period. Desde 2007 at? hoje, atingiu-se aproximadamente 50 mil hectares em projetos de fomento com o vi?s protetivo. As t?cnicas utilizadas nos projetos de fomento florestal s?o a promo??o ou indu??o da regenera??o natural, o enriquecimento por meio de mudas e quando necess?rio o plantio total da ?rea com mudas de esp?cies florestais nativas de ocorr?ncia natural da regi?o. Para avaliar se tais a??es v?m atingindo os seus objetivos, se os recursos investidos est?o sendo bem empregados ou, ainda, se ser? necess?rio readequar as a??es adotadas, faz-se necess?rio avaliar e monitorar as ?reas restauradas no ?mbito do programa. Diante deste esfor?o o monitoramento destas ?reas trabalhadas permite que o programa de fomento avalie as melhorias no sentido de torn?-los mais eficazes. A proposta deste estudo foi sugerir uma metodologia para a avalia??o dos projetos de recupera??o do programa de fomento florestal, orientados por princ?pios, crit?rios e indicadores, procurando verificar as tend?ncias de sucesso dos projetos. Foram visitados aleatoriamente 19 projetos nos munic?pios de Concei??o do Mato Dentro, Datas, Diamantina, Rio Vermelho, Santo Ant?nio do Itamb? e Serro e aplicada uma matriz com os indicadores baseados em dois crit?rios de forma que qualquer servidor da autarquia tenha a capacidade de aplic?-la, sem a necessidade de especialistas para a execu??o do monitoramento. Baseando-se nas recomenda??es t?cnicas e legislativas, desenvolveram-se par?metros de refer?ncia para avaliar o estado do projeto de que foi executado. Por conta das diferentes fitofisionomias da regi?o de estudo foram elaborados par?metros de refer?ncia para a Floresta Estacional Semidecidual e Campo Rupestre. Os dados foram analisados por meio da an?lise do componente principal (PCA) e TWINSPAN. Com a metodologia proposta foi poss?vel verificar se os projetos de fomento est?o adequados quanto ?s recomenda??es t?cnicas e liter?rias. Este estudo demonstrou que ? poss?vel realizar o monitoramento dos projetos de recupera??o/ restaura??o do programa de fomento florestal do IEF. Programa de P?s-Gradua??o em Ci?ncia Florestal, Universidade Federal dos Vales do Jequitinhonha e Mucuri, 2012. / ABSTRACT The State Forestry Institute of Minas Gerais (IEF) promotes fomenting by seeking forest recovery or restoration in conjunction with rural producers. From 2007 to present date, it reached approximately 50,000 hectares in development projects with the protective bias. The techniques used in forest development projects are the promotion or induction of natural regeneration, the enrichment trough seedlings and when it is necessary, the plantation of the whole area with seedlings of native tree species from the region. To assess whether these restore\ recovery actions are reaching their goals, whether the resources invested in these actions are being well employed, or even if it will be necessary some rearrangement in the taken actions, it was necessary to evaluate and monitor the restored areas within the program scope. Before this effort, the monitoring of these worked areas allows that the development program assess the improvement rates in order to make them more effective. This study aims to suggest an assessment methodology of the restoration projects of the forest development program, guided by principles, criteria and indicators, seeking to verify the trends of successful projects. 19 projects were randomly visited in the municipalities of Concei??o do Mato Dentro, Datas, Diamantina, Rio Vermelho, Santo Antonio do Itamb? and Serro and it was applied an array of indicators based on two criteria therefore any civil servant in the local authority would be able to apply it, without needing an expertise to perform the monitoring. Based on technical and legislative recommendations, it was developed benchmarks to assess the project status executed. Because of the different phyto-physiognomies in studied area some benchmarks were developed for the Stational Semideciduous Forest and Rupestrian Field. Data were analyzed through principal component analysis (PCA) and TWINSPAN. With the proposed methodology it was possible to verify if the development projects were suitable with literary and technical recommendations. This study demonstrates that it is possible to perform the monitoring of recovering\ restoration projects of the forest development program of the IEF. Another important feature is guided by the usage of low financial resources and it also points the performance of evaluated projects. The proposal was not able to point all ecological benchmarks, but it detects favorable and unfavorable changes concerning the resilience of the recovery projects, requiring further studies and adjustments in order to add improvements to the quality of monitoring.

A partir de uma cobertura de plantas daninhas acima de 50% h? retrocesso no processo de regenera??o natural, por?m, h? um grupo de plantas capaz de colonizar tal ?rea. Verificou-se tamb?m que o banco sementes ? composto basicamente por esp?cies herb?ceas com car?ter invasor, n?o contendo sementes de esp?cies arbustivo-arb?reas, logo, n?o ? recomendada a recupera??o dessas ?reas utilizando o banco de sementes local. No ensaio com doses do glyphosate, concluiu-se que tr?s das quatro esp?cies florestais avaliadas possuem caracter?sticas que indicam toler?ncia ao herbicida testado, por?m, recomenda-se a realiza??o de testes em campo em est?dios alternativos de desenvolvimento. Programa de P?s-Gradua??o em Ci?ncia Florestal, Universidade Federal dos Vales do Jequitinhonha e Mucuri, 2012. / ABSTRACT The objective of this study was to evaluate the impact of herbicide use in regeneration and in the seed bank in areas where the recovery process.?Thus, we developed three of four experiments in a field environment and in a protected environment.?In the first experiment, we evaluated the infestation of exotic grasses on the natural regeneration process.?In the second, we evaluated the influence of the seed bank in the process of restoration of areas infested with grassy weeds.?In the third study, we evaluated the sensitivity of some tree species native to the action of the herbicide glyphosate and the fourth and final experiment evaluated the effect of the herbicide paraquat and control of invasive grasses in degraded areas, compared to mowing, aiming at adapting the?most efficient methods to control weeds.?We could see that from a weed coverage above 50% for the reverse process of natural regeneration, however, there is a group of plants able to colonize this area.?It was also found that the seed bank is composed primarily of herbaceous species with character attacker, not containing seeds of woody species, so is not recommended for rehabilitation of these areas using the local seed bank.?In the trial in doses of glyphosate, it was concluded that three of four forest species evaluated possess characteristics that indicate tolerance to the herbicide tested, however, recommends-if achievement of field tests in stadiums alternative development.?In the comparison of methods for control of grasses, although no significant differences between the herbicides, glyphosate treated plots showed emergence of edaphic species present in the bank while in plots treated with paraquat only shoots were observed.?Overall, practices in the chemical control of grass weeds should be taken to the area to reach the full restoration.?It is recommended the inclusion of other recovery techniques so that there the entry of tree species locally adapted.

Foram realizadas determina??es de atributos f?sicos, qu?micos e ligados ? mat?ria org?nica do solo de todas as ?reas. A composi??o flor?stica foi realizada nos quatro remanescentes florestais do bioma Mata Atl?ntica com Floresta Estacional Semidecidual. Foram alocadas nove parcelas de 10 x 10m, totalizando 900m? em cada ambiente de mata ciliar. O material bot?nico foi coletado dentro de cada parcela, sempre procurando atingir a maior diversidade poss?vel de esp?cies por fragmento. Dentre os agroecossistemas analisados, a mata foi a que apresentou melhor qualidade dos atributos do solo, o que indica que o uso e manejo influenciam diretamente sobre esses atributos. Nas quatro ?reas de mata ciliares foram identificadas 149 esp?cies, distribu?das em 81 g?neros e 40 fam?lias. This work takes part of the project n?00 Fapemig in partnership with ARMICOPA (Mucuri Regional Association for Cooperation to Small Farmers). The soil samples were collected in four areas of the municipal districts of Ladainha, Novo Oriente, Pot? and Cara?, considering that in each place there were collected samples of pasture, culture and remnant forest areas. Determination of physical, chemical and linked to the organic matter of the soil attributes was accomplished in all areas. The floristic composition was accomplished in four remnant forests of Atlantic forest with Seasonal Semidecidual Forest bioma. Were allocated nine 10 x 10m portions, totaling 900m? in each ciliary forest environment. The botanical material was collected in each portion always attempting to reach the largest species diversity possible per fragment. Among the analyzed agroechossistems, the forest was the one that presented better quality of the soil attributes, indicating that the use and handling can influence directly on those attributes. In the four ciliary forest areas 149 species were identified, distributed in 81 genders and 40 families. The results are aimed at subsidizing the recovery of those environments with agroforests systems developing, once the Mucuri Valley microrregion lacks of studies about the possibilities of maintainable use.

Os objetivos de sua pr?tica s?o baseados nas poss?veis redu??es da inflama??o muscular, edema, dor e acumula??o de metab?litos, acelerando assim a recupera??o p?s-exerc?cio. Neste contexto, n?o est? claro se a IAF interfere nas adapta??es em n?vel molecular do conte?do da prote?na de choque t?rmico 72 kDa (Hsp72) do tecido muscular esquel?tico. Sendo assim, o presente estudo avaliou se a IAF ap?s as sess?es de exerc?cio, durante um programa de 4 semanas de treinamento intervalado de alta intensidade (HIIT), altera a resposta adaptativa do desempenho f?sico e da Hsp72 do tecido muscular esquel?tico. Foram selecionados 17 volunt?rios, do sexo masculino, adultos (idade: 23 ? 3 anos; peso corporal: 68.7 ? 9.2 kg, estatura: 171 ? 7 cm; gordura corporal: 23.5 ? 5.2%), n?o treinados e saud?veis para participar deste estudo, que assinaram o termo de consentimento livre e esclarecido. Os volunt?rios foram pareados em dois grupos de acordo com o desempenho no teste de 15 km em cicloerg?metro. Um grupo foi submetido ? IAF dos membros inferiores ap?s o exerc?cio (n=8), e o outro grupo serviu como controle (CNTRL, n=9). O programa de treinamento f?sico consistiu de 4 semanas de ciclismo intervalado de alta intensidade, com frequ?ncia semanal de 3 vezes. Cada sess?o de HIIT foi composta por 8-12 est?mulos com intensidade entre 90-110% da pot?ncia pico por 60 segundos, seguidos por intervalos de recupera??o ativa de 75 segundos ? 30W. A IAF compreendeu em imergir os membros inferiores em ?gua a 10 ?C, por 15 minutos, ap?s cada sess?o de treinamento. Os volunt?rios do grupo controle ficaram sentados em uma cadeira, na sala de treino a temperatura ambiente. As vari?veis medidas foram consumo m?ximo de oxig?nio (VO2max), desempenho no teste de 15 km e resist?ncia de for?a muscular localizada. Al?m disso bi?psias musculares foram realizadas 3 dias antes e 3 dias ap?s o per?odo de treinamento para avalia??o do conte?do muscular de Hsp72. O tempo para completar o teste de desempenho de 15 km diminuiu com o treinamento, mas n?o foi diferente entre os grupos (CNTRL 42.9?1.9 para 38.7?2.9 min e IAF 42.4?2.5 para 37.7?3.0 min, pr? versus p?s-treino, respectivamente). O VO2max aumentou com o treinamento em ambos os grupos, mas tamb?m n?o foi diferente entre os grupos (CNTRL 48.7?5.6 para 51.2?4.8 ml?kg-1?min-1 e IAF 45.7?5.6 to 50.4?4.8 ml?kg-1?min-1, pr? versus p?s treino, respectivamente). Quanto ? resist?ncia muscular localizada, o pico de torque m?dio aumentou com o treinamento em ambos os grupos, sem diferen?a entre as situa??es (CNTRL de 92,7?15,6 n/m para 96,7?14,5 n/m e IAF de 86,0?19,8 n/m para 91,3?13,2 n/m pr? versus p?s-treino, respectivamente). Mas o ?ndice de fadiga (CNTRL 70,0?6,1 % para 67,1?6,8 % e IAF 65,8?8,0 % para 69,3?6,6 % pr? versus p?s-treino, respectivamente) n?o alterou com o treinamento. O conte?do muscular de Hsp72 aumentou com o treinamento, mas n?o foi diferente entre os grupos (CNTRL 100?28% para 124?37% e IAF 100?31% para 131?23%). Programa Multic?ntrico de P?s-gradua??o em Ci?ncias Fisiol?gicas, Universidade Federal dos Vales do Jequitinhonha e Mucuri, 2014. / ABSTRACT Despite a general lack of understanding of the underlying mechanisms, cold water immersion (CWI) is a recovery strategy commonly employed by athletes. The purpose of its use is based on possible reductions in muscle inflammation, oedema, pain and metabolite accumulation, thereby hastening recovery. Furthermore, it is not clear if CWI can interfere with training adaptation and intramuscular heat shock protein. The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the effect of CWI in training adaptation and intramuscular heat shock protein after 4 weeks of high intensity interval training (HIIT). All subjects provided written informed consent and the study was approved by the research ethics committee. Seventeen healthy, young subjects (age: 23 ? 3 years old, body weight: 68.7 ? 9.2 kg, height 171 ? 7 cm; body fat: 23.5 ? 5.2%) were allocated into 2 groups: control (CON, n=9) and cold water immersion (CWI, n=8). Training adaptation was evaluated before and after 4 weeks of HIIT through an individualized ramp test and 15 km cycling time trial (workload set at 50% of peak power), VO2max, and maximal knee extension and flexion of the dominant leg on an isokinetic dynamometer. Additionally, vastus lateralis biopsies were obtained one week before the first and 3 days after the last training session to evaluate intramuscular content of heat shock protein 72 kDa (Hsp72). Each HIIT session consisted of 8-12 cycling exercise bouts with intensity set between 90-110% of the peak power for 60 seconds followed by active recovery intervals of 75 seconds at 30W. HIIT occurred 3 times per week. After each HIIT session, the CWI group had their lower limbs immersed in cold water (10?C) for 15 minutes and the CON group recovered at room temperature. Time to complete the time trial reduced with training, but was not different between recovery methods (CON 42.9 ? 1.9 to 38.7 ? 2.9 min and CWI 42.4 ? 2.5 to 37.7 ? 3.0 min, pre versus post, respectively). VO2max increased with training in both groups, but was not different between recovery methods (CON 48.7 ? 5.6 to 51.2 ? 4.8 mL?kg-1?mim-1 and CWI 45.7 ? 5.6 to 50.4 ? 4.8 mL?kg-1?mim-1, pre versus post, respectively). On the localized muscle strength test average of peak torque increased with training in both groups, with no difference between the situations (CON 92.7 ? 15.6 n / m to 96.7 ? 14.5 n/m and CWI 86.0 ? 19.8 n/m to 91.3 ? 13.2 n/m pre versus post-training, respectively). The relative work per repetition decreased with training (CON 37.6 ? 9.0 J to 32.1 ? 7.6 J and CWI 33.0 ? 8.4 J to 28.0 ? 4.4 J pre versus post -training, respectively) while the fatigue index (CON 70.0 ? 6.1% to 67.1 ? 6.8% and 65.8 ? CWI 8.0% to 69.3 ? 6.6% pre versus post-training, respectively) didn?t change with training. The Hsp72 muscle content increased with training, but was not different between recovery methods (CON 100 ? 28% to 124 ? 37% and CWI 100 ? 31% to 131 ? 23%, p=0.29), without interaction between groups. We conclude that the HIIT protocol was effective in improving performance and increasing muscle Hsp72, and that CWI did not affect the adaptations induced by the training protocol.

A disserta??o foi estruturada em dois artigos. No primeiro avaliou-se a cobertura do solo por esp?cies do estrato herb?ceo-arbustivo em ?rea de campo rupestre quartz?tico em diferentes n?veis de conserva??o, em Diamantina, Minas Gerais. A comunidade foi estratificada de acordo com a intensidade de dist?rbios em cada local (estrato). A amostragem da vegeta??o foi feita por meio do m?todo da interse??o na linha. Nesse ambiente, a comunidade estudada apresentou elevada diversidade flor?stica, com o registro de 99 esp?cies, distribu?das em 49 g?neros e 22 fam?lias. As fam?lias Poaceae e Cyperaceae foram as mais importantes na coloniza??o do ambiente. Dentre as classes analisadas, aquelas com maior cobertura relativa foram, no total, solo exposto (11,30 %), afloramento de rocha (9,59 %) e mat?ria morta (9,02 %). Pela classifica??o de TWINSPAN, algumas esp?cies apresentaram diferentes comportamentos de acordo com o estrato em que se localizavam, por?m elas estiveram presentes em todos os estratos, mostrando que s?o capazes de colonizar os diferentes ambientes dentro da ?rea de estudo, o que leva a crer que poder?o ser utilizadas na coloniza??o de ambientes degradados semelhantes. No segundo artigo, procurou-se caracterizar as comunidades herb?ceo-subarbustivas sobre campo rupestre quartz?tico (CRQ) e ferruginoso (CRF) em Concei??o do Mato Dentro, MG, em diferentes per?odos do ano, quanto ? similaridade e ? estrutura fitossociol?gica, al?m de indicar esp?cies nativas com potencial para uso em programas de restaura??o de ?reas degradadas semelhantes. Foram registradas, no total, 17 fam?lias bot?nicas, sendo oito no campo rupestre ferruginoso e 15 no campo rupestre quartz?tico. As fam?lias com maior n?mero de esp?cies foram Fabaceae (3), Asteraceae (2) e Euphorbiaceae (2) no CRF e Poaceae (7), Asteraceae (6) e Melastomaceae (6) no CRQ. A comunidade estudada apresentou baixa similaridade e diversidade flor?stica, em ambos os locais e per?odos, n?o havendo diferen?as significativas entre os valores de H?, pelo teste t de Hutcheson. The dissertation was structured in two articles. In the first evaluated the soil cover by species of herbaceous and shrub layer in campo rupestre quartz?tico at different levels of conservation, in Diamantina, Minas Gerais. The community was stratified according to the intensity of disturbances at each site (stratum). The vegetation sampling was performed by the method of intersection on the line. In this environment, the community studied showed high floristic diversity, with the record of 99 species belonging to 49 genera and 22 families. The Poaceae and Cyperaceae were the most important in the colonization of the environment. Among the analyzed classes, those having a relative cover were, in total, bare soil (11.30%), rock outcrops (9.59%) and dead matter (9.02%). By TWINSPAN classification, some species showed different behaviors according to the stratum in which they were located, but they were present in all segments, showing that they are able to colonize different environments within the study area, which suggests that they may be used in the colonization of similar degraded environments. In the second article, we tried to characterize the herbaceous communities on campo rupestre quartz?tico (CRQ) and ferruginoso (CRF) in Concei??o do Mato Dentro, Brazil, in different periods of the year, as the similarity and vegetation structure, and indicates native species with potential for use in similar degraded areas restoration programs. They recorded a total of 17 botanical families, eight in campo rupestre ferruginoso and 15 in the campo rupestre quartz?tico. The families with the highest number of species were Fabaceae (3), Asteraceae (2) and Euphorbiaceae (2) in the CRF and Poaceae (7), Asteraceae (6) and Melastomaceae (6) in the CRQ. The community presented low similarity and floristic diversity in both places and periods, with no significant differences between the values of H ', the t test Hutcheson. The DCA showed the formation of two distinct environments, separating the CRF environmentally CRQ. The species of Eriocaulaceae and Xyridaceae families occurred exclusively in the environment of quartzite, some of the latter family classified as indicators of this environment, which arouses interest as to their use in campo rupestre quartz?tico restoration programs. The species with the highest values of importance in the CRF were Bulbostylis fimbriata and Centrosema brasilianum and CRQ Echinolaena inflexa and may be suitable for similar environments restoration programs.

Diversas estrat?gias t?m sido utilizadas com o intuito de acelerar a recupera??o p?s-exerc?cio. Embora a imers?o em ?gua seja uma estrat?gia comum entre os atletas, a sua efic?cia na acelera??o da recupera??o ainda n?o est? estabelecida, e os efeitos da temperatura da ?gua na imers?o sobre o desempenho n?o s?o claros. Sendo assim, este estudo avaliou os efeitos da recupera??o passiva por imers?o em ?gua, em diferentes temperaturas, sobre o desempenho ap?s uma sess?o de exerc?cio. Nove homens, jovens, fisicamente ativos, participaram de quatro sess?es experimentais randomizadas compostas por exerc?cio exc?ntrico (3 x 10 repeti??es a 100% de uma repeti??o m?xima) e 90 minutos de corrida em esteira rolante a 70%do pico de consumo de oxig?nio. Em seguida, os volunt?rios recuperaram durante 45 minutos, distribu?dos em 15 minutos de imers?o em ?gua a 15, 28 ou 38?C sentados e 30 minutos deitados em repouso a temperatura ambiente (20 ? 2? C). Na sess?o controle (CON), durante a recupera??o, os volunt?rios permaneceram sentados durante 15 minutos ? temperatura ambiente. Quatro horas ap?s o final do exerc?cio experimental, os volunt?rios foram submetidos ? corrida de intensidade autorregulada m?xima de 5 km seguido do teste de Wingate para avaliar o desempenho f?sico. A temperatura retal (Tret), a frequ?ncia card?aca (FC) e sua variabilidade (VFC) foram medidas ao longo de toda a sess?o. O consumo excessivo de oxig?nio p?s-exerc?cio (EPOC) foi medido durante a recupera??o. Os marcadores do dano muscular, creatina quinase (CK) e aspartato amino transferase (AST) e a contagem de leuc?citos totais foram medidas antes e ap?s o exerc?cio, ap?s imers?o, antes e ap?s o desempenho, e 24 horas ap?s o exerc?cio experimental. Several strategies have been used in order to accelerate post-exercise recovery. Although water immersion is a common strategy among athletes, it effectiveness in accelerate the recovery is not yet established, and the effects of temperature water immersion on performance are not clear. Thus, this study evaluated the effects of passive recovery water immersion at different temperatures on performance following an exercise session.Nine physically active men (24 ? 6 years old, 72 ? 13 kg, 177 ? 7 cm, peak oxygen consumption (VO2peak) of 55 ? 4 mL?kg-1?min-1), participated of four randomized experimental sessions. Each session consisted of eccentric knee flexion (3 x 10 repetitions of 100% from one maximum repetition) and 90 minutes of treadmill running at 70% of VO2peak, followed by 15 minutes of passive recovery by water immersion at 15?C, 28?C or 38?C and 30 minutes resting in supine position at room temperature (20 ? 2?C). In the control session, volunteers remained seated for 15 minutes at room temperature after exercise. After four hours of resting, in order to evaluate recovery strategies, the volunteers underwent a 5 km of maximal self-paced treadmill running followed by the Wingate test. Prior to experimental sessions, rested volunteers completed 5 km of maximal self-paced running and the Wingate test, which were used as reference performance values. Rectal temperature (Tret), heart rate (HR) and heart rate variability indexes (HRV indexes) were measured through the entire session. Excess post-exercise oxygen consumption (EPOC) was measured during recovery period. The markers of muscle damage, creatine kinase (CK) and aspartate aminotransferase (AST) and total leukocyte count were measured before and after exercise, after immersion, before and after performance tests, and 24 hours after the experimental exercise. Average speed during 5 km of maximal self-paced treadmill running and relative peak power during Wingate test were not different between experimental conditions. Water immersion at 15?C reduced Tret, HR and HRV indexes to baseline values after recovery. EPOC was higher in water immersion at 15?C and 28?C. During 5 km of maximal self-paced treadmill running and Wingate test, Tret and HR were not different between experimental conditions. The experimental exercise session induced muscle damage and leukocytosis. However, there was no difference in serum CK, AST and total leukocyte count between experimental conditions.The recovery by water immersion at different temperatures was not effective in modify the physical performance 4 hours after a session of prolonged exercise.
