Flexicurita a její projevy při vzniku, změnách a skončení pracovního poměru v právní úpravě České republiky a Spolkové republiky Německo / Flexicurity and its manifestations in the formation, changes and termination of the employment relationship in the legal regulation of the Czech Republic and the Federal Republic of Germany

Čihák, Adam František January 2013 (has links)
The theme of this thesis is a comparison of legal regulation in the Czech Republic and the Federal Republic of Germany with regard to manifestations of flexicurity in the formation, changes and termination of the employment relationship. The word flexicurity was formed by combining two opposing terms - flexibility (contractual freedom) and security (safety, protection, sureness). Flexicurity can be viewed from several different angles. It is mainly a concept or model of a labor market with regard to labor law and alternatively related social security law and employment policy. The issue of labor law flexibility and protection of employees is very topical, especially nowadays. Effort to find the optimal balance between flexibility and security can contribute to the solution for the weakening competitiveness of European states. This thesis is composed of an introduction, five chapters and further divided into sub- chapters and a conclusion. The first chapter of the thesis deals with the term flexicurity and the approach of the European Union and European states on this issue (including historical development). The second chapter provides the basic characteristics of labor law in the Czech Republic and the Federal Republic of Germany that is a necessary foundation for the next part of the thesis. Key...

Maktrelationen mellan patron och arbetare på Huseby Bruk : En komparativ studie med klass och genusanalys mellan Husebys arbetare och makthavare mellan 1919-1957 / The relationship between management and workers at Huseby Bruk : A comparative study of class and gender analysis between Huseby workers and those in power between 1919-1957

Modig, Alexander January 2017 (has links)
My essay will be based on a comparative study aimed to investigate and compare the workers' conditions at Huseby Bruk depending on who ruled the mill during the period between 1919-1957. But also to study conditions on the basis of different work at the factory during the studied time. Gender and patriarkalism will be two theories that will permeate the paper. I will compare various workplaces such as, agriculture, sawmill workers relation to the more middle-class professions, for example inspectors. My purpose is therefore to compare different occupations and their employment terms and conditions on the basis of gender and class.   My aim is also to further compare the factories management and the relationship with the workers, then examine the structure of the relations based on gender, in what way affected the workers' situation based on who owned and ran the factory. More precisely, it means comparing Joseph, Florence and the guardian's powers related to workers at or around the mill. I will examine the period 1919- 1957 in order to study the power from three different owners -Joseph Florence and guardians

Examining the relevance of parent-adolescent relationships in the romantic relationship quality of young adults

Drake, Adryanna Siqueira January 1900 (has links)
Doctor of Philosophy / Department of School of Family Studies and Human Services / Jared R. Anderson / This study prospectively examined how parent-adolescent relationships influence romantic relationship quality of offspring, utilizing the National Longitudinal Survey of Adolescent Health (ADD Health, n = 3,946). Further, this study investigated whether self-esteem and depression symptoms mediated these relationships, and if gender was a significant moderator. Adolescent girls who perceived their relationships with their mothers and fathers to be strong were more likely to have better quality romantic relationships as young adults. This relationship was found to be direct and indirect, through the effect of self-esteem. Adolescent boys who perceived their relationship with their father to be strong and whose mothers were more knowledgeable about them were less likely to experience depression symptoms as young adults, and in turn, to have better quality romantic relationships. Adolescent boys whose mothers perceived to have a strong relationship with them had higher self-esteem as young adults. Finally, there were significant differences between boys and girls in that the association between mother knowledge and depression symptoms was stronger for boys. Results support the stability of parent-adolescent relationships in influencing future relationships and highlight the importance of parent-adolescent relationships in predicting psychological wellbeing and romantic relationship quality.

Juvenile Offenders' Perceptions of the Counseling Relationship

Ryals, John 16 May 2003 (has links)
The purpose of the study was to explore juvenile offenders' perceptions of the counseling relationship. Eight juvenile offenders who were on probation under the jurisdiction of a juvenile court participated in the study. Using a phenomenological methodology, two interviews with each participant were conducted in order to obtain participants' full descriptions of the phenomenon of the counseling relationship. The main research question was: What are juvenile offenders' perceptions of the counseling relationship? Sub-questions were: (a) What are the themes and qualities that account for how feelings and thoughts connected to the counseling relationship are aroused?, (b) What are the underlying conditions that account for juvenile offenders' perceptions of the counseling relationship?, (c) What are the universal structures (e.g. time, space, bodily concerns, physical substance, causality, relation to self or others ) that precipitate feelings and thoughts about the experience of the counseling relationship?, and (d) What are the unique qualities of the experience that facilitate a description of the "counseling relationship" as it is experienced by juvenile offenders? Participants' descriptions provided a range of descriptions that were summarized in three thematic categories: Themes Related to Participants, Themes Related to Counselors, and Themes Related to the Process of Counseling Relationships. In addition, a composite textural-structural description of participants' experiences provided a holistic description of the phenomenon as lived by participants. Participants' experiences provided a greater depth of understanding of the counseling relationship with this challenging population from the perspective of juvenile offenders. Implications for juvenile offender counselors and counselor educators are discussed. Implications for phenomenological methodology are also discussed.

Assessing the Efficacy of Guest Loyalty Programs in the Hotel Industry: A Case Study of Kimpton Hotels

Brophy, Keith 20 January 2006 (has links)
Since 2004, several small hotel chains have introduced guest loyalty programs in order to give their guests "big chain perks" while keeping a boutique identity. Recent studies have raised concerns that loyalty programs do not create brand loyalty. By looking at Kimpton Hotel's recently introduced program, Kimpton InTouch, this study examines the potential for operationalizing guest loyalty programs in a small boutique hotel chain setting. The study utilizes guest information gathered through customer surveys and reviews guest visits and spending patterns to see if there is any indication that loyal behavior exists amongst members of the Kimpton InTouch. This study demonstrates that frequent stay programs serve as a valuable asset in a hotel's ability to nurture a relationship with its membership and increase the overall awareness of its brand in the marketplace.

Contextual and Dispositional Influences on Low-Income Children's School Adjustment

Myers, Sonya Shaniece 18 May 2007 (has links)
Examination of child temperament and early adult-child relationships is of vital importance to children's socio-emotional development, school success, and the prevention of future problem behaviors. In response, the current project examined the interaction of parenting style, child temperament, and the quality of the teacher-child relationship in predicting low-income children's school adjustment. One hundred fifty-four children (70 girls and 84 boys), their parents, lead teachers, and teacher aides participated in this study with data collected in both preschool (Head Start) and in Kindergarten. Parents completed questionnaires pertaining to parenting styles and child temperament, while teachers also completed questionnaires on child temperament, teacher-child relationships, social / behavioral adjustment at school, and academic achievement. Children also reported on their relationships with teachers using a puppet interview format. Analyses indicate that children's effortful control and negative reactivity are associated with a wide range of academic, behavioral, and socio-emotional variables. Results of the current study also provide evidence that negative reactivity, parental hostility, and teacher-child conflict are related to children's social-emotional and academic difficulties; however, effortful control and reduced teacher-child conflict moderate the effects of these negative factors on lowincome preschoolers' school adjustment. Results are discussed in terms of the utility of intervention efforts aimed at reducing negative parent-child and negative teacher-child relationships in order to promote positive school adjustment for low-income children.

Har vi gått igenom det här kan vi gå igenom vad som helst : Parets upplevelse av infertilitet / If we've been through this we can get through anything : The couple's experience of infertility

Ivehag, Ellinor, Wulcan, Hanna January 2016 (has links)
Background: Infertility is more common than many people think and can be due to various factors. The occurrence is equally common in both sexes and various treatment methods are available to take. Infertility rarely go unnoticed and couples affected more or less. Aim: The aim of the study was to highlight the heterosexual couple's experience of infertility. Method: A literature based study was done through a qualitative approach. The database Cinahl was used in the systematic searches. In total, the study is based on ten qualitative articles and the analysis resulted in three themes with three subthemes each. Results: The couples felt that their relationship was put to the test. They isolated themselves from family and friends because they constantly were reminded of their situation. Seeking support from others with infertility problems on Internet was common. Conclusion: The desire to become a parent was for all couples central but with the diagnosis life couldn’t take the way that was intended. The relationship was affected more or less, and support from various sources and of different types were needed. The importance of the nurse responds couple on a person-centered way highlighted. Person- centered care took advantage of the patient's resources and reduced suffering.

Recycled Posthuman Furniture-What has furniture become

Xinyi, Lin January 2019 (has links)
Recycled Posthuman Furniture – What has furniture become is a project that aims to explore the relationship between humans and furniture from the post-humanist perspective. Post-humanism is understood here as our capacity of giving non-human items the sense of humanity in terms of ethics and effects. Accordingly, we might consider the furniture has some certain human values. Therefore, this paper aims to demonstrate a new relationship compared with current states through a transdisciplinary design and speculative design with the goal of changing people’s understanding towards discarded furniture. Through the knowledge of current issues, this paper is tended to bring different perspectives of thoughts and questions in order to be aware of surrounding issues with the hope of changing current states to deliver a better future by chance. As the result, this paper puts forward a new sustainable lifestyle which advocates equality and inclusiveness among human and nonhuman and thus helps to solve survival crisis. Human is not the almighty of the world and all the existences are valuable as well. As humans, we must change our thinking patterns and begin accepting and treating other nonhuman equally. We are required to wake emotions that are hiding deep down in our heart and apply them on furniture and treat rejected and abandoned furniture as human. Only in this way can we decrease environmental pressure, reduce the discharge of solid waste and deal with the global crisis. Taking furniture as a start, humans should open their emotions and care for all objects that are living on the earth, focus on collective interest instead of individual interest.

The predictors of business performance in the investment management industry

Mgxaji, Bongekile January 2015 (has links)
Thesis (M.M. (Strategic Marketing))--University of the Witwatersrand, Faculty of Commerce, Law and Management, Graduate School of Business Administration, 2015 / This study aimed to investigate the influence of internal marketing, relationship quality and continuity as predictors of business performance in the investment management industry in South Africa. The tested relationships produced satisfactory results consistent with how they were hypothesised. Specifically, it appears that internal marketing has a positive impact on business performance. These results will have a beneficial outcome on investment management companies and may prompt them to align business strategies to focus more on internal customers which the employees. Relationship quality has a positive effect on business performance and seems to have an encouraging effect on their relationships that are long-term orientated. However, what is evident is that through the alignment of business strategies, it would be advised that investment management companies focus on the quality of relationships that they have with their clients, as this has a favourable result as indicated by the findings of the study. Finally, relationship continuity has a good impact, but there is no significant influence on business performance as indicated by the findings.

Ethical dimensions of current issues regarding safe blood donation

Tint, Khin San 22 February 2008 (has links)
ABSTRACT In the HIV/AIDS literature, a perspective that has not received a great amount of attention concerning blood donation per se and the duties and obligations of Blood Transfusion Services (BTS)i when held to the question of fairness raised by socially marginalised persons (or groups) who altruistically wish to donate blood in the face of the HIV/AIDS pandemic is addressed in this research report. The represented marginalised group I use is Men who have Sex with Men (MSM)ii Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome, commonly called AIDS first came to the attention of the public in the 1980s. From an unknown unnamed emerging infectious diseaseiii ,it has grown into a pandemic familiar to all. Primarily transmitted either sexually or via contaminated needles, the HIV infected individual is initially an asymptomatic carrier. Once an individual Once an individual is infected with the virus, he or she can pass it on to others by way of body fluids, e.g. blood and semen. HIV, whether treated or not, will eventually develop into AIDS for which there is currently no known cure. AIDS is uniformly mortal. i In this research report, I will refer to the industry as “Blood Transfusion Services” although in some countries it is referred to as “Blood Bank Services” ii Men who have Sex with Men (MSM) according to the London-based PANOS Institute include men who have sex with both men and women, men who have sex with only other men, men who have sex with boys and men, male sex workers and their clients, male transvestites and transsexuals, male street children and men in prison (McKenna 1999:1) iii As defined by Lashley, F, (2006) Emerging Infectious Diseases are ‘diseases of infectious origin whose incidence in humans has increased within the past two decades or threatens to increase in the near future’ The media abounds with literature concerning HIV/AIDS looking at it from various perspectives. iv Moreover, and correctly, in South Africa we are knowledgeable that what once was considered as a threat only to homosexualsv or IV drug users – individuals marginalised by their nonconformance to society’s norms – is now epidemiologically a disease spread in our society primarily by non-drug using heterosexuals. The tension between promoting the public good in the face of an pandemic while simultaneously protecting against unjust discrimination against individuals or groups represents an ethical dilemma faced by all public health organisations including BTS. Principally contextualised in iv e.g. clinical research in, guidelines pertaining to, ethical issues about, legal precedents concerning, duties of medial personnel towards, epidemiological analysis, psychological monitoring …and so on. v At the end of the 19th century, homosexuality was profiled as a mental illness by the German psychiatrist Richard von Krafft-Ebing in his reference book Psychopathis Sexualis.v In the absence of scientific evidence to prove otherwise, this view became widely accepted . Eventually, many different societies perceived homosexuals including MSM as unstable and this reinforced discriminatory practices against them. v Even today, the harmful consequences of homophobia impact on MSM in many different ways. Meyers describes three negative conditions or practices common to the experience of MSM. They are: the internalisation of homophobia to the extent that they accept rejection from society; the experience of social stigmatisation; and overt discrimination and violence.v From some religious aspects, homosexuality is considered a “sin against nature” and is often seen as a link to AIDS, which is again seen as God’s punishment for a “life against nature”.v The Koran suggests punishment for those involved in homosexual acts on the basis of harm to society, and Sharia law admits no tolerance towards homosexuality.v. Predominantly Catholic Latin American countries enforce socio-cultural and legal restrictions to prohibit homosexuality. (Mckenna 1999:11) From Buddhist perspective, homosexuals are not permitted to become a monk and to practice through monk-hood the ultimate goal of attaining the highest level of enlightenment (Nirvana) (Ven Chanmyay Sayadaw Janakabhivamsa 1997:9 ). However, they are as equal as are others when following the paths taken that may lead them to attain Nirvana (Personal communication with Ven Ashin Manijoti, Theravada Buddhist Dhammodaya Monastery, Pietermaritzburg). the milieu of South Africa but practiced globally, the responsibility of BTS’s may broadly be grouped into two areas: 1) the provision of blood & its products to a given population based upon their estimated need; and 2) the assurance of blood and blood-product safety. While these may be considered only technical issues, they are not so clear-cut. Rather, they include conflicts of values and social-political agendas. Historically, BTSs have used discriminatory practices to exclude certain groups from blood donation. Independent of country or nation and in spite of advancements in blood screening science, the existent social-political order has influence on the policies and practices of BTSs such as the separation of groups into “high-risk” and ”low risk” blood donor categories. On the surface, such separations may appear to be straightforward scientific and prudential public health policy. However, when one considers the most common manner of HIV transmission - as occurring during intimate sexual acts which take place within society’s emphasis on private and individual rights but when such acts are considered by society to be ‘deviant ‘ - one might ask how the terms high- and low- risk are influenced by societal perceptions of the group in question. In other words, I suggest that societal (including political, religious, and economic) perceptions of a marginalised group’s private sexual acts influence public health policy; private acts have social consequences. Weighing the pros and cons of ethical arguments, this research report concludes that because of advanced blood transfusion science, it is morally justifiable to accept blood from all altruistic competent adult individuals volunteering to donate. Moreover, in this regard, it is the duty of BTS to safeguard the national blood supply by means other than excluding marginalised groups. To do otherwise is ethically unwarranted and constitutes unfair discrimination. In addition, through identifying that the act of blood donation is based on altruism or the “gift relationship,” the exclusion of marginalised groups from altruistic blood donation, serves only to further excludes them from an act, which is in essence humanitybinding. That being said, to achieve this end, all altruistic competent adults who wish to donate blood are obliged to understand the purpose, nature, and duties BTS’s have and adopt a renewed sense of social responsibility broadening our vision of the public good..
