Choice of housing is one of the most important decisions of inhabitants. It is a relatively new process in Czechia which did not work absolutely freely till 1989.Inhabitants accustom to choice of housing and learn this process which is based on the relatively short experience. On the one hand, the importance of the choice of housing is conditional by low willingness of the Czech inhabitants to move and on the other hand, it is amplified by the high purchase price, which usually means the greatest investment in life of households. Thus, people consider many aspects in the wish to satisfy one of the basic life needs during the choice of housing. The place of future residence is one of the most important of them. Housing research is a relatively new topic in geography. Even though systematic research on housing and quality of housing in Czechia takes place more intensively (in the social sciences, for more than two decades), there were not performed territorial differentiation of the quality of housing assessment and comparison of municipalities according to suitability for. Thesis subject: The Role of Family Carers in the Nursing Home for Persons with Cognitive Impairment. The theme of this thesis is the role of the family carers in the nursing home for persons with cognitive impairment. This topic is very actual due to the aging of society and to the increasing of life expectancy. A proportion of the old people in society increases but in the same time there is a decreasing number of people who could take care of them at home (due to negative population balance, disintegration of traditional family, economic situation and high requirements of the care etc.). Many seniors who are depending on the help of the others (such as people with dementia) spend their old age in institutional care. The qualitative research in this thesis shows that families continue in caregiving even after the admission of their relatives to a nursing home. The aim of this research was to describe the involvement of families in the institutional care and to identify factors that influence this phenomenon. Research was conducted in one nursing home for persons with cognitive impairment. This thesis aims to analyze trends in the area of residential properties within selected locality over a selected period of time. Introduction chapter explains basic terminology of real estate market and later unveils the way how is residential market integrated into real estate market as such. It also describes factors that have significant impact on supply and demand. Next chapter describes residential market and distribution of its particular sectors. Main chapter analyzes selected parameters which affect residential market in the South Moravian Region. Key parameters are demographic movement, income and living standards of residents and its relationship to household, residential construction trends, etc. The final chapter is concerned with housing condition of council flats and houses in the area of Brno metropolis. The analyses contains the trend monitoring of selected factors over a selected period of time.

Gradual construction in individual parts of the city has its own characteristics. Each period brings different general requirements for construction based on the lifestyle and needs of the population at certain time. This difference in construction, whether the real estate itself, or the overall layout of buildings in the landscape, including different architectural elements, affects the determination of their value. However it is often not possible to provide a sufficiently large database of comparable objects in medium-sized municipalities when applying the comparison method. Analysing of individual types of construction and, in particular, quantifying their impact on the usual cost is a new contribution and a view of building assessment. The dissertation thesis deals with the analysis of the problematic locality, the mapping of the individual construction stages, including defining individual characteristics of buildings and their surroundings. The construction influence was quantified based on the created database of realized housing units and selected methods. The realised facts in this dissertation thesis can be used as a basis for experts and valuers in the securing of database elements but also as a basic information for state administration authorities and for the public when buying and selling commodities, choosing a place for housing or information about their age.

The author attempted to analyse the financial structure of the project and he applied financial instruments of project financing and, consequently, selected the most suitable alternative. This doctoral thesis deals with the valuation of damage to buildings affected by floods. In its individual parts, it researches floods as a risk, focuses on the damage caused by this natural phenomenon and examines the methods used to assess the damages caused by floods. With the beginnings of human settlement, the vicinity of rivers has been inhabited for the many befits that watercourses bring. However, there are many dangers associated with this, especially the ones associated with the spillage of riverbeds – with floods. This phenomenon causes considerable damage to property, the environment or human health and lives. There are many measures to eliminate the risk of flooding, or at least mitigate its effects. This work further researches the mitigating of impacts – it examines the methods of determining the amount of damage to buildings caused by floods, looks for factors and parameters influencing the amount of damage and focuses on streamlining these methods. The aim of the thesis is to find a suitable methodology/model that can automate the calculation of the amount of damage, or in other words, to find a quick and at the same time sufficiently accurate solution to this problem. The main output of the thesis is the equation of the damage curve and a model for the amount of damage calculation based on the principle of damage curves using the hybrid genetic algorithm. Another output is a practical tool that works on the basis of the said algorithm and automatically calculates the amount of damage to the building when entering very basic information about the damaged object.
