González Retamal, Cristián January 2018 (has links)

Landeo Julcarima, Dolly Thais 16 January 2018 (has links)

Bruno de Brito Damasceno 00 September 2018 (has links)
CoordenaÃÃo de AperfeÃoamento de Pessoal de NÃvel Superior / The present work tries to analyze the migration from Cearà to the Amazon, in the transition of centuries XIX and XX, through the literary construction realized by Rodolfo TeÃfilo (1853-1932). For TeÃfilo, literature served as a space to question the lived, where the esthetic work carried out by the whiter would generate a product capable of educating readers and transforming society. The production of this whiter allows us to reflect how literate groups understood the demands, on the one hand, of an âartistic foundation of nationalityâ that needed to contemplate disparate cultural experiences (the one brought by the migrant in relation to the one existing in the Amazonian space) of the construction of a civilized image of the European molds, which clashed with the mestizo reality of the population, constituting a dilemma for the men of letters of the period. The construction of the experience of migration in the literary circles of Cearà was marked by conflicting visions, based on a dichotomy of prison/ freedom, since the representations of CearÃ‟s space were marked by the character of poverty and lack of resources for daily survival, with the only solution being migration, and, on the other hand, the departure of the native tree, meaning an unnecessary expatriation, since the place of destination, the Amazon, would be worse in terms of solitude and identity disintegration. The methodological work with literature, according to the literary critic Antonio CÃndido, must take into account that the literary work is a model of coherence proposed by the author, who arranges the words in order to transform the matter of inspiration into an organized whole. It is, therefore, for the historian to reorder the writer‟s would-readings at the time of writing, to observe the message he intended to share with the readers and the goals he sought to achieve, taking into account the perspectives opened up in his own literary form / O presente trabalho procura analisar a migraÃÃo cearense para a AmazÃnia, na transiÃÃo dos sÃculos XIX e XX, atravÃs da construÃÃo literÃria realizada por Rodolfo TeÃfilo (1853-1932).

The Piano Sonatas of Rodolfo Halffter: Transformation or New Techniques?

Harper, Nancy Lee 08 1900 (has links)
The Piano Sonatas of Rodolfo Halffter (b. 1900, Madrid, Spain) represent an important body of literature not widely known nor understood for their historical importance and Spanish heritage. The entire development of Halffter's compositional style, which embraces three periods of composition, may be traced through these sonatas. The modes of composition may be seen not to be separate and distinct but as having inter—relationships which therefore affect the outcome of Halffter's final dodecaphonic technique. The culmination of his serial method is found in the Tercera Sonata, op. 30. At first glance, this work appears to be a radical departure from the former styles. However, a more in-depth study reveals this sonata to be the logical outgrowth of earlier compositional techniques, thereby blending diverse, eclectic elements into a unique and homogenous application, all Halffter's own. Forced to flee his native country in 1939, Halffter became the first composer in Mexico to use twelve-tone techniques. Together with Carlos Chavez, he exerted great influence on the present generation's group of Mexican composers. Halffter today remains a crucial link in the continuation of the Spanish tradition as exemplified by his former mentor, Manuel de Falla. A brief explanation of Falla s theory of resonance including sketches in Falla's handwriting as well as portions of the unpublished analysis of Halffter's Tercera Sonata are presented, perhaps for the first time. This study reveals how Halffter manipulates many Spanish elements which are found in the ancient cante iondo and the string tunings of the guitar in addition to the use of acciacaturas and the internal rhythm of Domenico Scarlatti into a personalized idiom which remains apparent throughout all his compositional styles. An analysis of Halffter s Tercera Sonata shows that the final period is characterized by a unique blending of Falla's "apparent poly-tonality" with the twelve-tone system of Arnold Schoenberg.

“Já muito estropeadas”: Bodies and landscapes of oppression in Rodolfo Teófilo’s A fome

Wood, Mikaela 17 August 2023 (has links) (PDF)
This thesis article analyzes Rodolfo Teófilo's novel "A fome" through the lens of ecofeminism, exploring the representations of gender and nature in Brazilian literature. The novel, set during a devastating drought in the Northeast, follows Manuel de Freitas and his family as they seek relief in Ceará. While existing criticism has focused on the novel's use of nature and masculinity, the portrayal of female characters and the connection between gender and nature representations have been overlooked. Ecofeminist theory offers a critical perspective to understand these dynamics, revealing the devaluation of women and nature in favor of men and human beings in the narrative. The novel inadvertently perpetuates this oppressive view, objectifying women and land as submissive entities open to domination, despite acknowledging their abundance and creative power. While "A fome" effectively depicts the horrors of drought and societal injustices, it misses the opportunity to explore the imbalanced, hierarchical binaries of men/women and human/nature. By embracing an ecofeminist approach, the novel could have delved into the intertwined discourses of environmental and gender justice, presenting potential for empowerment and positive change. This article emphasizes the need to interweave these discourses in Brazilian literature to create a more inclusive and equitable societal narrative.
