Schuh, Rafael Artur January 2014 (has links)
This study addressed the efforts of manufacturers to influence the behavior of the sales makers of the distribution channel and revealed a motivating influence: identification. From a survey with 147 distribution channel sales makers, this study analyses the impact of manufacturer-channel member control systems alignment and identification, on manufacturer’s performance. This study also examines the positive behaviors as a consequence of identification. From analysis of structural equations, the results demonstrate that both the adherence to manufacturer control systems and identification positively influence the manufacturer sales performance, and also demonstrate that identification generates positive behaviors of the distribution channel in support of the manufacturer's brand. However, the results were inconclusive regarding the impact of these positive behaviors on manufacturer’s sales performance. In addition, identification generates greater sales performance for the manufacturer when there is a greater alignment of manufacturer-channel sales control systems. This results suggests that suppliers can exercise influence over the channel sales force by strengthening the psychological connection between its brands and channel sales personnel.

Célia Bueno de André Plothow 11 December 2006 (has links)
Sales force management presents an important strategic decision to many firms. It has been widely acknowledged that the compensation of the sales force may be used to enhance sales, control sales force activities and improve customer relationships.Despite the ackowledged importance of sales compensation, the literature on the topic is rather limited and esparse. Based on contingency theory, it is proposed that the effectiveness of the type of compensation cannot be adequately assessed without consideration of these factors. It is hypothesized that the effectiveness at realizing intended pay strategies depends significantly on the existence of a match between compensation strategies, organization and the environment. To date, vey little work has been done in development a contngency theory that ties the pay system to the organization`s operating objetives and strategies. This study seeks to expand the emerging compensation strategy literature and examines the various dimensions that may be used to study this construct. Compensation strategy is the repertoire of pay choices available to management, that may, under some conditions, have an impact on the organization`s performance and the effective use of its human resources. Pay mix (the split between fix and variable pay) was assumed to be the most important pay choice for the sales force. Besides that, pay mix is one of the pay strategies that presents great variability between the companies, even from the same economic sector, suggesting that it is influencied by contingency factors. Thus, this study adresses the following key research question: What are the contingency factors that moderate the pay choices (pay strategy)? The contingency fators were studied beyond two major categories: external environment and internal environment. To answer the proposed question, an empirical study was conducted. The study was employed was a case study methodology. Primary data was obtained by in deep interviews .The study offer empirical support for the contingency theory. In particular, macrolevel factors like uncertainly and risk, as well as organizational factors ? corporate culture seemed to be relevant for the corporate pay strategies. On the other hand, ?pay mix? was the pay choice that seems to be influencied by multi-level factors. Some factors appeared to have more influence in the pay mix choices in the searched organizations: the degree of uncertainty of the market and the environment; the competitiveness and stability of the market; the competitive strategy; the organization life cicle and culture; characteristics of the sales cycle autonomy and received supervision. It can be concluded that strategic decision on pay mix must take careful analysis on contingency factors related to external and internal environments, because they tend to shape the sales process and the sales force role. The findings suggests some possible points of attention in the decision concerning to compensation of sales force towards effectiveness and could help practitioners manage the relationship between reward processes and strategy in organization.

Implementace CRM u telekomunikačního operátora / Implementation of CRM in a telecommunications service provider

Švejdová, Jana January 2011 (has links)
The diploma thesis focuses on implementation of a software solution for customer relationship management with respect to a telecommunications service provider. The whole analysis of a project implementation describes introduction of a segment called Sales Force Automation (SFA). The objective of the work is to describe all important steps during the execution of the SFA project implementation, to compare the steps to theoretical recommendations, to assess applicability of procedures with regard to users' experience and reactions during the execution and after the completion of the project and to subsequently determine recommendations for similar projects. The work is structured into a theoretical and practical part. The objective of the theoretical part is to explain the concept of CRM -- Customer Relationship Management, to introduce the recommended project plan of the CRM implementation and to present a selected product, which is Siebel CRM from Oracle. The practical part describes an already finished project implemented by a telecommunications service provider, compares the appropriate procedure to a theoretical recommendation and registers differences. Based on implications and user's reactions there were suitable and unsuitable steps determined and also procedures recommended for an easier transition to a new CRM system with regard to similar projects.

Casas Haro, Analía Arellis, Fuentes Mariños, Maria Fernanda 16 March 2020 (has links)
In the current scenario, there are several short-term changes, one of them is the increased competitiveness, factor that directly affects the Sales Force, employees with a high turnover rate and who are not permanently in an office. Given this, organizations must be creative to achieve the retention of their staff, generating work engagement through organizational tools such as the management of internal channels, specifically for this research, internal newsletters. Given this situation, this research aims to analyze whether or not there is a relationship between content management, design and frequency of publishment of internal newsletters and work engagement in the Sales Force of a Peruvian insurer. Theoretical evidence was found, that indicates the possible relationship between both variables, so the following hypotheses were raised: content management, design and frequency of publishment of internal newsletters and work engagement are related in the case of a Peruvian insurer. A non-experimental methodological design of a correlational type was applied, with a conclusive quantitative approach, using the case study research method. It was found that both variables have several tendencies among themselves, concluding that some variables do have a strong direct relationship, but others do not; which shows that there is no relationship between the two variables analyzed. / Tesis

Levels of resourcefulness and motivation as they relate to sales force success: An examination of correlates using the hope theory.

Pool, Patricia W. 12 1900 (has links)
This study sought to determine whether a relationship existed between individual salesperson's levels of goal-directed cognition and motivation and their professional success as determined by the percentage of sales goals achieved. Salespersons represented two companies with national sales forces: one from the financial services industry and one from the apparel manufacturing industry. Both groups of salespeople were responsible for complex selling tasks. The skill sets for these professionals included high levels of communication skills, extensive product knowledge, and competitive market knowledge. Survey research, both paper and pencil and online, was conducted using the Hope Scale developed by C. R. Snyder and associates (1991). Hope is defined as a two-dimensional construct of goal-directed thinking: resourcefulness, thoughtful planning to overcome obstacles to goals, and motivation, cognition to sustain momentum toward goal achievement. Theoretically, upon assessing salespersons' Hope scores, organizations would be better prepared to assist those with low Hope Scale Scores (HSS) in one of the two areas. Those with low resourcefulness scores could be trained in cognitive techniques to overcome obstacles to goal achievement. Those with low motivational scores would be identified for further analysis, from a developmental perspective, to better determine what personally initiates and sustains motivation to attain their goals (Snyder, 1991). This study affirmed two of three parts of the hope theory with regard to salespeople. High Hope scores showed significant correlations with high goal achievement, as did one of the subset scores, motivation. The resourcefulness subset score did not correlate significantly with high goal achievement, and also produced low reliability scores.
