Title: Analysis of the Tennis Serve from the perspective of the receiving player Objectives: To determine whether it is possible for the receiving opponent to estimate the direction and type of tennis serve based on the server's toss. Methods: The indirect method was used in the form of video surveillance to meet the objectives. The analyzed group consisted of five professional tennis players, who were exposed to the research model game situation. All five servers were recorded by a high speed camera in the area of the receiving player; radar was used to measure the ball speed. The key point for evaluation was the moment of release of the ball from the server's hand, the highest reached point of the ball and the moment when the ball was hit by the racket. The analyzed results were presented in the form of tables and graphs; from the statistical methods, the arithmetic average was used mainly. Results: This research focused on anticipating the tennis serve from the perspective of the receiving player. Overall, we observed five players, who served first from the right side and then the left side into the dedicated opponent's receiving area marked by lines. Title: Analysis of the toss and impact in the tennis serve Objectives: The objective of our work is to analyse the phase of toss and hit in tennis serve and to compare the results between the players themselves. Methods: As the main method of data collection we used kinematic 3D analysis. Additional method was semi-structured interview with selected players for research. Results: We found that more stable performance at the phase of toss and hit achieves the player with the higher position on the tennis ranking. Furthermore we found that the ball in all serves was hit in front of the players body. The largest range of variation (most unstable) in both players was width M, that means hitting ball in a frontal plane in consideration of the vertical axis Y established by left foot tip designed by the server's. Music is very important for Christianity which plays music in many situations. It is the laities who serves by music in church for most of the time. In Taiwan church, the problems have to face is the lack of severs: there are few people who got ability and want to serve. The best way to solve the problem is training someone who want to sever in music ministry in church. This study focused on Taipei Truth Lutheran Church¡¦s training system of music ministry for laities. This study try to know well and find out the problem in the training system of music ministry for laities in Taipei Truth Lutheran Church through the literature review, in-depth interview method, questionnaire survey and personal observer. Then, this study tries to build a training system of music ministry for laities in Taiwan church by surveying the system by theories. This study finds out that the training system of music ministry for laities in Taipei Truth Lutheran Church is quite well. This study recommends some advices about the courses, teachers hiring, communicating with different roles in church, information transmission, connecting with other resource and developing supplementary measure. And build a training system of music ministry for laities in Taiwan church.

APPROXIMATE ANALYSIS OF RE-ENTRANT LINES WITH BERNOULLI RELIABILITY MODELS

Re-entrant lines are widely used in many manufacturing systems, such as semiconductor, electronics, etc. However, the performance analysis of re-entrant lines is largely unexplored due to its complexity. In this thesis, we present iterative procedures to approximate the production rate of re-entrant lines with Bernoulli reliability of machines. The convergence of the algorithms, uniqueness of the solution, and structural properties, have been proved analytically. The accuracy of the procedures is investigated numerically. It is shown that the approaches developed can either provide a lower bound or a closed estimate of the system production rate. Finally, a case study of automotive ignition component line with re-entrant washing operations is introduced to illustrate the applicability of the method. The results of this study suggest a possible route for modeling and analysis of re-entrant systems.

NUTRITION KNOWLEDGE OF CONSUMERS AND HEALTH PROFESSIONALS AND THE USE OF MENU CALORIE LABELING

The purpose of this study is to assess the need for menu labeling of calories based on the ability of food consumers to identify lower calorie options. By surveying consumers in Kentucky and Ohio and health professionals in Kentucky about their awareness of caloric content, basic nutrition knowledge and ability to choose lower calorie options, we can predict the potential benefit of menu labeling initiatives and the amount of education that will be necessary for consumers to effectively use menu labeling to make informed decisions on calorie intake. Through online surveys, it was determined that consumers were better able to predict calorie levels of foods at common quick serve restaurants, compared to health professionals. Health professionals are more knowledgeable about daily calorie requirements and more likely to change their quick serve food order with calorie labels. Health professionals and consumers dining out 3-5 times per month were better able to determine low calorie options and daily calorie requirements. These findings suggest that show that health professionals are in no better able to predict calorie levels at restaurants. Furthermore, nutrition education is necessary to aid in the use of menu calorie labeling for consumers.

The problems associated with the effective design and uses of databases are increasing. The information contained in a database is becoming more complex and the size of the data is causing space problems. Technology must continually develop to accommodate this growing need. An inquiry was conducted in order to find effective guidelines that could support queries in general in terms of performance and productivity. Two database management systems were researched to compare die theoretical aspects with the techniques implemented in practice. Microsoft SQL Sewer and MySQL were chosen as the candidates and both were put under close scrutiny. The systems were researched to uncover the methods employed by each to manage queries. The query optimizer forms the basis for each of these systems and manages the parsing and execution of any query. The methods employed by each system for storing data were researched. The way that each system manages table joins, uses indices and chooses optimal execution plans were researched. Adjusted algorithms were introduced for various index processes like B+ trees and hash indexes. Guidelines were compiled that are independent of the database management systems and help to optimize relational databases. Practical implementations of queries were used to acquire and analyse the execution plan for both MySQL and SQL Sewer. This plan along with a few other variables such as execution time is discussed for each system. A model is used for both database management systems in this experiment. / Thesis (M.Sc. Loading and velocity generation in the high performance tennis serve

[Truncated abstract] Shoulder injuries rank among the most prevalent and debilitating sustained by professional tennis players. The loads, or magnitude, location, direction, duration, frequency, variability and rate of force application, endured by tissues of the shoulder during stroke production, and more particularly the serve, are commonly implicated in shoulder joint injury (Chandler et al., 1992; McCann and Bigliani, 1994; Kibler, 1995). Indeed, past evidence points to these loads increasing along with serve velocity, as well as with varied segment use (Elliott et al., 2003). This dissertation therefore aimed to quantify hypothesised relationships between certain serve types and techniques, and shoulder joint loading among high performance able-bodied and wheelchair players. . . Of final note is that prospective 3D biomechanical examinations of shoulder joint motion in the tennis serve should consider placement of humeral triads distal to the biceps and/or triceps muscle belly. In comparison to markers placed at the mid-point of the humerus (i.e. as used in this thesis), these more distal triad positions appear to alleviate the spurious effects of soft tissue artefact thereby enhancing the accuracy of estimated long-axis rotation of the upper arm. Although the current representation of 3D humeral motion did not confound the comparisons made between serve types or techniques, it is likely that upper arm triads located just above the epicondyles of the humerus could have offered more insightful absolute comparisons to the literature. Further, the elaboration of a joint coordinate system at the shoulder to provide for the more meaningful and functional expression and interpretation of shoulder joint kinetic and kinematic data should also be central to all future, related investigative efforts.

Title: Analysis of the badminton matches in men's and women's singles The goals of essay: Main goal of the essay is to find out differences in first three shots and its most common combinations in single matches of men and women in relation to gaining a point during the rally. Another goal was to find frequency of using backhand and forehand hold in second and third shot. The last goal was to compare the frequency of ending in first, second and third shot between men and women. Methods: Indirect analysis - videoanalysis Results: According to results men and women primarily choose different types of serving. Men most often use short backhand serve, women high forehand serve. For the second shot men choose short shot or lob, women use smash. The third shot is lob in men rally, women choose short shot most often. Generally men uses in the first three shots shots less clears than women do. For both sexes are the most effective shots offensive ones, but men are more successful than women. The most effective direction of return was for men and for women the body of the player, in third shot it was the backhand side too (left middle and left back of the field). Men were more successful with forenhand, women with backhand. The frequenc of endings to third shots shows that women more often end the rally...
