A study of participating motivation, job satisfaction and sustained willingness to serve of volunteers of cultural instiution¡ÐA case of volunteers in kaohsiung Public Library.

KUO, SHU-CHING 06 July 2006 (has links)
This research was to explore the¡§Correlation among participating motivation, job satisfaction and sustained willingness to serve of volunteers of cultural institution.¡¨Kaohsiung Public Library is presented as a case study in this research. The questionnaire is the main method. Meanwhile, interviews with volunteers are also offered for providing more evidence and new thinking toward this issue. There are four objectives to serve as guidelines for this research. ¡]1¡^To understand the status quo of the backgrounds of volunteers of cultural institutions and their participating motivation, job satisfaction and sustained willingness to serve. ¡]2¡^To explore the differences of participating motivation, job satisfaction and sustained willingness to serve of volunteers of different background. ¡]3¡^To explore the correlation among participating motivation, job satisfaction and sustained willingness to serve.¡]4¡^To predict the influence of participating motivation and job satisfaction on the sustained willingness to serve. The questionnaires were distributed to 235 volunteers, including 172 current and 51 quitted, in 10 branch libraries of Kaohsiung Public Library. There were 223 valid questionnaires . Usable rate was about 95¢M. After analyzed, the results of this research are as follows¡G ¡]1¡^The background of each volunteers of Kaohsiung Public Library shows a great amount of similarities with one another. ¡]2¡^As for the overall participation motivation, the highest one is self-growth. Different age, whether they have religious beliefs would make obvious difference on the participating motivation. ¡]3¡^As for the overall job satisfaction, the highest one is self-growth. Different age, occupations , whether they have religious beliefs and status would make obvious difference on the job satisfaction. ¡]4¡^Volunteers in Kaohsiung Public Library have strong willingness to continue to serve in the future. Different age, occupations and whether they have religious beliefs would make obvious difference on sustained willingness to Serve. ¡]5¡^The study results show significant positive correlation between a volunteer¡¦s participation motivation and job satisfaction, participating motivation and sustained willingness to serve, and job satisfaction and sustained willingness to serve. ¡]6¡^¡§self-growth satisfaction¡¨can predict the level of sustained willingness to serve. In compliance with the above-mentioned results, the researcher provides authorities, institutions, and future researchers with constructive suggestions.

Pace and variability in the badminton jump smash and the tennis serve

Miller, Romanda Nyetta January 2016 (has links)
Full-body three-dimensional kinematic characteristics were determined for the badminton jump smash and the tennis serve in order to investigate contributions to pace and variability. Kinematic (400 Hz) data were collected for a group of badminton and tennis players, using an 18 camera Vicon Motion Analysis System. Each participant performed 24 jump smashes or tennis serves. The best trials - maximal velocity with minimal marker loss - were analysed for each participant using a 18 segment rigid body model customised for each participant using subject-specific segmental properties. Parameters were calculated describing elements of the badminton jump smash and tennis serve technique as well as variability. The effect of these technique parameters on: speed were addressed using stepwise linear regression and on variability using one-way ANOVA. The results suggest that the fastest badminton players had a smaller elbow extension angle at the end of retraction, a larger wrist extension angle at shuttle contact, and a larger time between preparation and shuttle contact; that accounted for 84% of variation in shuttle speed. The results also showed that variability in the badminton smash was caused by differences in body placement, shuttle location on the racket at impact and movement timings. In the tennis serve, linear regressions showed that there were no variables significant to speed when players hit to the right and left centre court lines. When players hit in the advantage court trunk rotation at the racket lowest point key instant could explain 35.2% of the variation in speed, and when hitting towards the deuce court timing from the end of retraction to ball contact explained 33.6% of ball speed. The results show that there are differences in technique between the badminton jump smash and the tennis serves especially in the first half of the sporting actions.

Kinematická analýza tenisového podání / Kinematic Analysis of Tennis Serve

Havel, Michal January 2013 (has links)
Title: Kinematic Analysis of Tennis Serve. Objectives: To evaluate tennis serve realization in the selected performance category, to review speed of particular serve types and define the differences. To create detailed movement analysis of the slice serve from the right side of the court and set up a trajectory of the centre of gravity. Methods: Case study using kinematic 2D and 3D analysis was made. Results: We found out that the flat serve is the fastest type of serve. There are differences in the body centre of gravity trajectory by comparison with elite tennis players. We also found out that serving from the right side of the court is being hit higher, than from the left side. We assume there is a very close connection between serve speed and the point of impact. Keywords: tennis, serve, kinematic analysis, 2D, 3D

Video analysis as a form of feedback to improve sport performance

Thomas, Brendan Nigel 12 1900 (has links)
Thesis (MScSportSc)--Stellenbosch University, 2004. / ENGLISH ABSTRACT: Feedback is critical for motor skill learning. Knowledge of performance (KP) In the form of verbal feedback is the most commonly used type of augmented feedback. Advances in technology have made it possible for coaches to utilise video-supported feedback with athletes with the intention of accelerating the learning process. The use of videotape replay has been an effective aid under some circumstances. Recent commercially available products offer digital analysis that may be even more successful than ordinary video replay in this regard. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of knowledge of results (KR) and verbal KP with video-support in improving the learning of the tennis serve, when compared to KR with verbal KP only. A total of 18 adults (lOwomen and 8 men) were assessed on their serving technique (6 kinematic variables), accuracy (2 variables) and speed (1 variable). Technique analysis was completed using a commercially available analysis programme. For a short intervention period, one group (n = 10) received KR with verbal feedback only, while the other group (n = 8) received KR plus verbal feedback with video support. The subjects were tested after the intervention to see what changes had occurred with regards to the speed, accuracy and technique of their serves. No significant differences were found for any of the variables, leading to the conclusion that the amount oftime spent in the intervention programme must be extended in order to possibly achieve significant effects on performances.

林清南, lin ,ching-nan Unknown Date (has links)
The purpose of this research is to discuss the practical situation and cause for the turnover of the teacher that serve the administrative work of director concurrently, and realize the status quo of the turnover according to research process and focus on both quantity and quality to apply hierarchy statistics and analyze by empirical statistics. Then interview with 6 with teachers that had been served the administrative work of director concurrently in national senior high school to discuss and realized the cause for their turnover. It is shown that the turnover of teachers that serve the administrative work of directors are becoming serious year after year. Even though the causes of their turnover are complex and different, principal plays a key factor. This research suggests to focus on the turnover teaches, which result in the inconsistency of school management; establish mutual respect between teachers and personnel that serve administrative work concurrently; enhance principal’s ability in school management and leadership, and establish excellent administrative group for the school.

'n Ondersoek na en bydraes tot navraaghantering en -optimering deur databasisbestuurstelsels / L. Muller

Muller, Leslie January 2006 (has links)
The problems associated with the effective design and uses of databases are increasing. The information contained in a database is becoming more complex and the size of the data is causing space problems. Technology must continually develop to accommodate this growing need. An inquiry was conducted in order to find effective guidelines that could support queries in general in terms of performance and productivity. Two database management systems were researched to compare die theoretical aspects with the techniques implemented in practice. Microsoft SQL Sewer and MySQL were chosen as the candidates and both were put under close scrutiny. The systems were researched to uncover the methods employed by each to manage queries. The query optimizer forms the basis for each of these systems and manages the parsing and execution of any query. The methods employed by each system for storing data were researched. The way that each system manages table joins, uses indices and chooses optimal execution plans were researched. Adjusted algorithms were introduced for various index processes like B+ trees and hash indexes. Guidelines were compiled that are independent of the database management systems and help to optimize relational databases. Practical implementations of queries were used to acquire and analyse the execution plan for both MySQL and SQL Sewer. This plan along with a few other variables such as execution time is discussed for each system. A model is used for both database management systems in this experiment. / Thesis (M.Sc. An Examination of the Incremental Validity of the Serve-Specific Core Self-Evaluation Scale Over the Core Self-Evaluation Scale in Predicting Serve Performance

Bowman, Joshua S 01 April 2017 (has links)
This study examined the relationship of the serve-specific core self-evaluation scale (SS-CSES) with serve performance of inter-collegiate volleyball athletes. The SSCSES is a modified version of the core self-evaluations scale (CSE). It was hypothesized that SS-CSES would be related to serve performance, that SS-CSE would be more related to serve performance than CSE, and that SS-CSE would have incremental validity over CSE when predicting serve performance. Responses to the two scales and selfassessments of server performance were collected online through self-report questionnaire. Additionally, NCAA serve statistics were collected by the researchers. Results indicated that SS-CSE was a stronger predictor of performance than CSE, and all other hypotheses were supported.

Analýza tenisového podání z pohledu přijímajícího hráče / Analysis of the Tennis Serve from the perspective of the receiving player

Svoboda, Michal January 2014 (has links)
Title: Analysis of the Tennis Serve from the perspective of the receiving player Objectives: To determine whether it is possible for the receiving opponent to estimate the direction and type of tennis serve based on the server's toss. Methods: The indirect method was used in the form of video surveillance to meet the objectives. The analyzed group consisted of five professional tennis players, who were exposed to the research model game situation. All five servers were recorded by a high speed camera in the area of the receiving player; radar was used to measure the ball speed. The key point for evaluation was the moment of release of the ball from the server's hand, the highest reached point of the ball and the moment when the ball was hit by the racket. The analyzed results were presented in the form of tables and graphs; from the statistical methods, the arithmetic average was used mainly. Results: This research focused on anticipating the tennis serve from the perspective of the receiving player. Overall, we observed five players, who served first from the right side and then the left side into the dedicated opponent's receiving area marked by lines. We established a research question whether it is possible to estimate the direction and type of serve based on the server's toss. When comparing...
