Management odběru orgánů z pohledu perioperační sestry transplantcentra / Management organ harvesting in terms of perioperative nurses transplantcentra

EIGNEROVÁ, Anna January 2019 (has links)
Transplant medicine has been developing fast, bringing about also development of nursing care in this field. The purpose of this thesis was to examine the experience of perioperative nurses with organ procurement at the IKEM Transplant Centre and to obtain information on the procurement of different organs, organ storage, the organisation of perioperative nurses' work and on how the nurses perceive their work. This thesis applied a qualitative method, using semi-structured interviews divided into several parts, and the results were subsequently categorized. Meister's questionnaire was used to assess the mental workload of perioperative nurses. A total of 8 perioperative nurses working in full-time positions at the IKEM Transplant Centre and 8 perioperative nurses working in surgery units, all of them chosen by non-probability sampling, participated in the survey. Perioperative nurses perceive differences in the procurement of different organs from cadaver donors and know the possible modification of the procedure. What matters to them is the organ that is procured - kidney procurement or multiple organ procurement in cooperation with multiple surgeon teams, split-liver or reduction-liver transplantation or the donor's age. The nurses emphasize that their job requires responsibility, is demanding and causes stress. More experienced nurses participate in organ procurement in donor hospitals, bearing their own responsibility, but at the same time working in a well-functioning transplant team that includes also the coordinator and procurement surgeon. These nurses work on-call and are responsible for organising the work in the surgery room. They know that their job is demanding and are proud of where they work; however, they very often point out the stressfulness of their work. They know it is necessary to take time to relax and regenerate. Transplant centre perioperative nurses can be assessed as the second category of Meister's questionnaire, while perioperative nurses in surgery units as Meister's first category. This thesis may be used as study material and was used for a presentation at a medical conference.

Multidimenzionální pohled na práci dětské sestry v ambulantní sféře dětského oddělení / Multidimensional view on the work of children's nurse in the emergency room of children's ward

PŘÍPLATOVÁ, Iveta January 2019 (has links)
The work of nurses in the outpatient department belongs between discussed topics. The interplay and cooperation of all members of the medical team are especially important. Correct communication between all team members and communication with children and their accompaniment are also a matter of course. The aim of this diploma thesis is to map the work of a nurse in a comprehensive view in the outpatient area of the children's ward, the satisfaction of children and parents in the outpatient area of the children's ward and to suggest possible improvements for the outpatient sphere of the children's ward of České Budějovice a.s. The diploma thesis is processed by qualitatively quantitative investigation using semi-structured interviews, questionnaires and observations. The research group consisted of nurses, doctors, paediatric patients and their accompaniment at the children's ward, paramedics and the general public as well. The interviews were categorized and processed by the method of pencil and paper. Questionnaires were processed statistically. The hidden participating observation was focused on the collaboration and communication of nurses from outpatient department with other nurses, doctors, paramedics, children and their accompaniment; and it was also focused on the satisfaction of the children or their accompaniment at the outpatient department. The results of the work showed that the view of the work of the paediatric nurse is distorted both from the health care professionals and the general public, which means that the nurse is seen mainly as a nursing care provider. The results also showed the necessity of proper communication and knowledge of foreign languages. At the same time, the thesis was used to identify shortcomings or suggestions for changes in the paediatric outpatient department of the České Budějovice Hospital, including the satisfaction of patients and their accompaniment during visiting the department that depends on the time spent in the waiting room. Suggestions for improvement were drawn up, drafted and handed over to the children's ward management.

Znalosti rizik při poskytování zdravotní péče u studentů ZSF / Knowledge of risks in health care by Faculty of Health and Social Sciences students

BOČAN, David January 2019 (has links)
The diploma thesis deals with the identification of risks which threaten students in the fields of Radiology Assistant, General Nurse and Paramedic. The aim of the thesis is to map the knowledge of risks during providing health care in students of selected fields at the Faculty of Health and Social Studies at the University of South Bohemia. Four hypotheses were set in the thesis. Hypothesis no. 1 saying that there are statistically significant differences in risk knowledge between students of the first and last year of individual fields of health care. Hypothesis no. 2 that there are statistically significant differences in stress perception as a risk-enhancing factor between paramedics and general nurses. Hypothesis no. 3 states that there is a statistically significant difference in the knowledge of the risk of ionizing radiation between radiological assistants and general nurses and hypothesis no. 4 that paramedics will call their future occupation more risky than general nurses. To achieve the objectives and verify the hypotheses, a questionnaire was prepared, a questionnaire survey was conducted and everything was evaluated using graphic and statistical methods. The questionnaire contained 23 questions and the research sample consisted of 105 respondents from the studied fields. The results show that hypothesis no. 1 was confirmed in the fields of Radiology Assistant and Paramedic and rejected by the General Nurse. Hypothesis no. 2 was also confirmed. Hypothesis no. 3 was rejected and hypothesis no. 4 was also rejected. The contribution of the thesis is a complex picture of the knowledge of risks during providing health care in the studied fields. The results can serve the faculty to further more effective teaching.

Sestra a její role v prevenci onemocnění gastrointestinálního traktu / Nurse and her role in preventing gastrointestinal tract illness.

KRÁTKÁ, Iveta January 2019 (has links)
This diploma thesis focuses on the description of a chosen gastro-intestinal disease - colorectal carcinome, unspecified chronic intestinal infections, and ulcerous gastroduodenal disease. It pursues the causes, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment, and most attention is given to the prevention of a chosen disease in gastro-intestinal tract. Concerning prevention, it focuses also on nutrition because that is what plays a significant role in keeping human population healthy. The empiric part of the thesis has been processed using a qualitative research survey, using the method of an in-depth semi-standardized interview. The first research group was formed by healthy individuals. The second research group was formed by nurses working with a practical doctor at the internal department and at the gastro-enterological department. The third research group was formed by patients suffering from gastroduoenal disease. The fourth research group was formed by patients sufferring from non-specific chronic intestinal infections. The fifth research group was formed by patients suffering from colorectal carcinome. The obtained results have proven that people know what a healthy lifestyle is, but compliance to it is rather difficult. One of its positive effects is that most people get their medical check-up regularly. The research group of ill individuals proves that the area of terciary or quarterly prevention is not made clear to the probands. The nurses´ research group has proven the fact that the prevention area is not made properly clear to the nurses, thus they do not provide the patients with sufficient information about their illness. This diploma thesis should aim at nurses and make sure they do not ignore the necessity of gastro-intestinal disease preention. T inform patients about options of prevention they have available. Patients themselves also need to realize how important their health is in their lives. Research survey results have been processed to form an information brochure meant for gastro-intestinal disease patients. To deepe knowledge about this issue we suggest offering the obtained results to be published in an expert magazine called Gastroenterology and Haemathology - Czech Gastroenterological Society.

Prevence civilizačních onemocnění očima generace 50+ / Prevention of civilization diseases by the eyes of generation 50+

NOVÁKOVÁ, Anna January 2019 (has links)
Introduction: The diploma thesis deals with the topic of prevention of civilization diseases by the eyes of the generation 50+. The incidence of civilization diseases in the Czech Republic is still on the rise. Therefore, the timely and consistent prevention is essential, especially in the areas of healthy eating, appropriate physical activity, and prevention of stress or risky behaviour. Aim: The aim of this work is to point out the knowledge of generation 50+ in the Hradec Králové Region on the risks and prevention of civilization diseases, the generation's attitude to prevention, how they assess their health condition and how they describe their own lifestyle. Methodology: A qualitative approach using a semi-structured interview was used in the research. The research sample consisted of 24 informants at the age of 51 to 79 years. Of these, 16 were women and 8 men. Results: The results showed that the generation 50+ in the Hradec Králové Region has certain knowledge in the area of prevention. Most informants think that the civilization diseases are specific diseases, especially cardiovascular diseases, oncological diseases or diabetes mellitus. In the area of risk factors, the informants predominantly correctly included risk factors for the development of civilization diseases. The most frequently mentioned factors were the lifestyle risk factors, especially diet, physical activity and risky behaviour such as smoking or alcohol. Regarding the area of prevention, most informants think it is important, but not all informants go to regular preventive examinations or preventive screening examinations. The change of opinion on prevention in informants changes with age and after the diagnosis of a disease. Among the informants, the information concerning prevention is most often obtained from doctors, the media or the press and to a lesser extent from general nurses. In the area of health, most informants emphasize the condition of being painless, self-sufficient and mobile. In the area of lifestyle, the research shows that most informants are not interested in a healthy lifestyle very much. However, they try to observe certain principles of a healthy lifestyle, especially in the area of appropriate eating and physical activity. Conclusion: The results indicate areas of prevention about which people should be repeatedly informed and alerted to their importance and possible consequences if they do not observe them. In particular, it is important to place greater emphasis on primary prevention, especially on lifestyle in the form of appropriate diet, physical activity, stress prevention and risky behaviour. Equally important is secondary prevention and preventive examinations and preventive screening examinations, and tertiary prevention, with a focus on eliminating or mitigating the consequences of diseases and improving the quality of life.

Farmakoterapie na ortopedickém oddělení z pohledu sestry / Pharmacotherapy at the ortopedic department from nurse´s perspektive

TOMÁNKOVÁ NOVÁKOVÁ, Monika January 2019 (has links)
Attention should be paid to pharmacotherapy in the orthopedic department mainly because patients at this department make up a risky group, they are older and often tend to use more types of drugs at the same time. Nursing at the orthopedic department is both mentally and physically demanding. Nurses administer medication to patients throughout the whole day, that is why lack of certain medication may occur in this department, the same way they would with all routine procedures. Be it conscious or unconscious. The thesis sets its objective to map out the issue of pharmacotherapy in the orthopedic department. Further, to map out factors that may influence the origin of complications when administering medication to patients in the orthopedic deartment, and suggest improvements in the process of pharmacotherapy in the orthopedic department. A qualitative research via participant observation and semi-structured interviews carried out with the nurses and patients of the orthopedic department, was used. The results of this survey prove that nurses do have basic theoretical knowledge in the area of pharmacotherapy. At the same time certain shortcomings were discovered, i.e. this theoretical knowledge is not being applied in practice. Most surprising were the results in the area of patient identification before administering medication, this step not always being abode by the nurses as a part of medical error prevention. Quite on the contrary, it can be said, based on the results, that nurses do have excellent knowledge and skills in pain reduction. This is proven by both participant observation and the happiness of patients themselves. Partial results have been presented at a seminar in the orthopedic department, and they have been passed on to the management of this department. The resulting shortcomings have been used as aid material. The diploma thesis was written so as to serve as material of information to beginner or existing nurses at the orthopedic department as well.

Zájem sester aplikovat holistický přístup v praxi s ohledem na současný stav ošetřovatelství / The interest of nurses to apply a holistic approach in practice with regard to the current state of nursing

NOVOTNÁ, Aneta January 2019 (has links)
The theme was chosen on the basis of their own experience, when new treatments, tools and nurses appear in the workplace, which are also required to constantly improve the quality of nursing care. The state approach to the patient forms the philosophical basis of nursing care. To give nurses of quality pastry about the bio-psycho-social and spiritual needs of the patient, it is necessary to have the knowledge, conditions and personal relationship to provide holistic care. At present, it is not possible that these are health and safety risk factors. Aims, research questions and hypotheses: The subject of the research is to find out the interest of nurses to apply a holistic approach in practice considering the current situation in nursing. Three objectives were set based on the subject of the research. Goal 1: Find out, if nurses are interested in providing modern nursing care based on patient needs. Goal 2: Identify nurses' personal views on providing holistic care. Goal 3: Determine the satisfaction level among nurses about the nursing care provided with regard to the current situation in practice. Methods and research file: Quantitative data collection method was used for the research. Anonymous questionnaire was distributed to nurses in selected healthcare facilities (Liberec Hospital, Turnov Hospital, Jablonec nad Nisou Hospital). The survey sample size is 180 respondents. Findings and conclusion: It follows from the research, that more than half of the respondents have already encountered the concept of holistic nursing care and they also understand what needs should be met by patients/clients and how to satisfy them. Some of them have already used the help of a social service or psychologist. However, it has turned out, that more than half of the responding nurses are not interested in spiritual needs. It has not been confirmed, that nurses' interest in providing this modern nursing care based on patient needs would depend on capacity of staff. The survey also shows, that the holistic care is provided in their hospitals according to one third of responding nurses. Nevertheless, the respondents think, that a holistic approach cannot be applied in their workplace because of lack of time, lack of staff and time consuming administration. Based on the results of Hypothesis 2, we can confirm, that nurses' opinion on the implementation of noursing care provided is influenced by the workload of nurses. The holistic approach moderately affects the job satisfaction level of nurses according to the survey. However, more than half of the responding nurses are satisfied with care they provide at their workplace, because they can see satisfied patients/clients. Hypothesis 3 has not proved any relationship between the satisfaction level of nurses and current situation in health care, where a holistic approach can be effectively applied. There will be a seminar for general nurses within the lifelong learning of nurses focusing on holistic care as an outcome of this diploma thesis.
