Identifikace a srovnání motivačních faktorů u vedoucích sester a směnných sester. / Identification and comparison of motivational factors in senior nurses and nurses working in shifts.

FIALOVÁ, Lenka January 2010 (has links)
Motivation to work is understood as an individual´s approach to work, his/her willingness to work. People are motivated when they expect to achieve goals or get rewards satisfying their needs. Currently health care facilities are facing the shortage and turnover of nursing staff. Therefore, hospitals are commissioned to create such an environment in which nurses become motivated, because only motivated nurses can provide a quality nursing care, which is expressed in patients´ satisfaction and rewarding feelings in nurses. The aim of the thesis was to identify and compare motivational factors of senior nurses and nurses working in shifts. The aim was fulfilled. Three hypotheses were set. First hypothesis: The most important motivating factor in nurses in senior positions is professional development was not confirmed. Second hypothesis: The most important motivating factor in nurses working in shifts is a financial reward was not confirmed. Third hypothesis: Motivational factors in nurses vary depending on the job assignment was confirmed. Results of the survey will be provided to medical officers to give them an overview of the most important motivational factors in nurses and the outcomes could also be a source of information for the hospital management how to effectively motivate the personnel. Senior nurses may focus on non-financial forms of rewards such as acknowledgements, thanks, appreciations, and good interpersonal relationships in the workplace.

Role sestry manažerky na usnadnění adaptačního procesu nově nastupující sestry na oddělení ARO, JIP / The role of the nurse manager in facilitation of adaptation process of new employed anaesthesiological and intensive care nurse

HUDCOVÁ, Lenka January 2011 (has links)
Successful coping with adaptation process by a nurse newly joining an intensive medicine workplace is quite a complicated process. Mastering sophisticated instrumentation, specialist demands of nursing care provision and everyday physical load as well as psychical stress expose each newly coming nurse to a wide spectre of demands the unconditioned coping with which is a basic precondition of successful integration to an elite team. Each incoming nurse (not just at an intensive care workplace) should be particularly supported by her nurse manager in the far from easy adaptation process, who can substantially help a new nurse adapt to the new environment and become an equivalent team member. The Thesis is aimed at the role of a nurse manager in comforting an adaptation process of a nurse joining an ARD and an ICU. The aim of the Thesis was to map the role of a nurse manager in adaptation process of a nurse joining an ARD and an ICU and to find out how such a nurse manager helps a nurse joining an ARD or an ICU with adaptation. Further aims were to map the process of adaptation of a nurse joining an ARD or an ICU itself and to examine the factors that mostly influence the adaptation process of a nurse joining an ARD or an ICU. A combination of qualitative and quantitative research was applied to the research part of the Thesis. A semi-standardized interview conducted with ARD and ICU ward sisters in selected hospitals in Prague was chosen as the data collection technique for the qualitative part. A questionnaire designed for nurses working at ARDs and ICUs in selected Prague hospitals, who themselves were undergoing or have recently undergone such an adaptation process was chosen as the data collection technique for the quantitative part. The aims of the Thesis have been met. The research results clearly showed that the adaptation process of a new nurse is not only based on effective specialist training, but also in integration of the nurse into the existing working team. It is thus necessary for a nurse manager to take sufficient care to the adaptation process and help a new nurse become an equivalent member of the team, which will thus achieve the set goals of the department as well as the whole organization under her efficient guidance. The results of our research may thus contribute to better awareness of the individual motivation factors of the adaptation process among the involved public. Upon the information found about functioning of a nurse manager in the process of adaptation of a nurse joining an ARD or an ICU a thought map was created, which might help as inspiration or as a manual for execution of this highly demanding process itself.

Picmausová, Ivana January 2020 (has links)
The fluctuation of nursing staff in the medical facilities is not just current problem in the Czech Republic. Aging population will present higher demand for number of nursing staff. It is assumed that the insufficient number of nursing staff will remain and even rise (also due to aging of the staff) if appropriate actions are not taken (Simoens et al., 2005). This thesis discusses the decision to migrate amongst the nursing staff - general nurses, practical nurses, midwives, and emergency paramedics within the medical facility. It analyses the reasons for changing their workplace. The investigation was executed using the questionnaire method. It was conducted in January and February of 2020 in the selected medical facility in the Czech Republic. Systematický screening a krátké intervence u rizikového užívání alkoholu - možnosti a meze aplikace do praxe zdravotních sester vybraného českého okresu / Systematic screening and brief interventions for risk use of alcohol - possibilities and limits of application into practice of nurses in a selected Czech district

Velátová, Jana January 2014 (has links)
Considering serious health, social and subsequently economic impacts which are rising due to the heavy alcohol consumption in the Czech Republic and the whole of Europe, the WHO proposed scientifically based tools, the aim of which is to minimize damage caused by alcohol. Health service is, therefore, highly recommended to establish Screening and brief interventions (SBI). The SBI method belongs to behavioural and cognitive-behavioural therapies. The goal is to identify people with risk or harmful alcohol consumption, to stop its usage, to diminish risks and get a motivation to seek specialized assistance. The majority of recommendations to establish SBI for risk and harmful drinking are especially aimed at primary care, mostly at doctors. Nurses with their broad competence in a lot of medical fields are left behind even though their activity including direct contact with patients involves analysing the levels of risk factors which alcohol is a part of. The purpose of the study is to clarify under which circumstances it is possible to effectively apply the SBI methodology into nursing practice in a selected Czech district, to describe the current engagement and extent of nurses' motivation to deal with alcohol prevention, to look for possibilities of SBI integration into real nursing practice and...

In the empirical part, I reached the set goals through interviews and questionnaires. Thanks to interviews with patients, I discovered that need of sleep of patients in intensive care is not saturated.Out of the 30 respondents I interviewed, 17 of them therefore deemed their sleep as poor and insufficient. We also describe the possibilities of introducing sport activities to the workplaces. Manažerské aktivity staniční sestry na jednotce intenzivní péče / Management activities of charge nurse in the intensive care unit

Nováková, Alena January 2014 (has links)
This thesis focuses on the work of charge nurses in intensive care units (ICUs) as first-line managers. The practical part of the thesis aims at assessing the experience with nursing management in day-to-day routine, especially with the management of change introduction, conflict resolution and motivation of employees. It further compares different charge nurses' career beginnings. The second part of the research deals with personal typology of charge nurses. Twenty six ICU charge nurses were included into the study. The results indicate that charge nurses are not being specifically prepared for their job and that they particularly lack any special education in management. They usually solve conflicts either by compromise or via a directive. Most charge nurses intend to introduce changes into daily practice and they perceive changes as positive. Conversely, they describe the attitude of their subordinates towards changes as negative. Charge nurses generally know the motivators of their employees; however, they excessively and inappropriately use praising as motivation tool. Although not standardized and not used generally, a formal evaluation of employees is considered by charge nurses as a possible way to improve motivation. Allover, the study shows the need for a more thorough management training...
