As famílias assentadas na Gleba Ribeirão Bonito, que vivem ao lado do Parque Estadual do Morro do Diabo, estão, ao contrário do que se poderia esperar, contribuindo, através de projetos articulados por uma rede de organizações, para a conservação dos recursos naturais desta Unidade de Conservação. A dissertação explora os fatores que têm condicionado tal realidade, fundamentando-se nas contribuições teóricas da economia das instituições e da sociologia ambiental. A conclusão é que está em processo de construção, na região do Pontal do Paranapanema, uma nova instituição que pode contribuir para a promoção de um modelo de desenvolvimento regional que inclua, ao mesmo tempo, o desenvolvimento social e econômico das famílias assentadas e a conservação da natureza. / The families seated in the Gleba Ribeirão Bonito, who live to the side of the Morro do Diabo State Park, are, in contrast of that we could wait, contributing, through designs articulated for a network of organizations, for the conservation of the natural features of this Unit of Conservation. The text explores the factors that condition such reality, basing itself on the theoretical contributions of the institutional economics and environmental sociology. The conclusion is that it is in construction process, in the region of the Pontal of the Paranapanema, a new institution that can contribute for the promotion of a model of regional development that includes, at the same time, the social and economic development of the seated families and the conservation of the nature.

O Movimento dos Trabalhadores Sem Teto (MTST) é hoje o maior movimento popular urbano no Brasil. Este trabalho tem o objetivo de verificar a hipótese de redução sintomas depressivos após o envolvimento de pessoas em atividades coletivas nas ocupações de sem-teto. A escolha metodológica para atingir os objetivos foi a combinação de métodos quantitativos e qualitativos. A primeira coleta foi feita por meio de questionários com indivíduos que estavam se juntando a novas ocupações no final de 2014 e início de 2015. A segunda parte da pesquisa utilizou o método qualitativo. Neste caso, a coleta de dados foi feita através de entrevistas individuais. No total, havia 268 pessoas envolvidas na resposta ao questionário inicial. No segundo momento, 15 participantes que mostraram remissão significativa nos sintomas depressivos foram convidados para a entrevista individual. Foram analisados: depressão, ansiedade, solidão, relação social e religiosidade. Todas as variáveis consideradas, com exceção da religiosidade, apresentaram variações. Os resultados confirmaram as principais hipóteses estabelecidas nos objetivos deste trabalho: a relação entre o envolvimento nas ações coletivas das ocupações e a remissão dos sintomas depressivos e a relação entre depressão e isolamento social. As entrevistas nos mostram que a maioria dos participantes mencionou a recepção e apoio encontrado na ocupação como o aspecto mais importante na sua melhoria / The Homeless Workers Movement (HWM or MTST, in Portuguese) is today the largest urban popular movement in Brazil. This paper has the objective to verify the hypothesis of depressive symptoms\' reduction after people involvement in the collective actions in the MTST occupations. The methodological choice to reach the objectives was the combination of quantitative and qualitative methods. A first data collection was made through questionnaires with individuals who were joining new occupations in the end of 2014 and beginning of 2015. The second part of the research has used the qualitative method. In this case, the data collection was made through individual interviews. In total, there were 268 people involved in the response to the initial questionnaire. In the second moment, the 15 participants who showed a larger remission in the depressive symptoms were invited to the individual interview. We analyzed: depression, anxiety, loneliness, social relation and religiosity. All variables considered, besides religiousness, presented variations. The results confirmed the main hypotheses established in this work\'s objectives: the relation between engagement in MTST\'s occupations and remission of depressive symptoms and the relation between depression and social isolation. The interviews show us that most of the participants has mentioned the reception and support found in the occupation as the most important aspect in their improvement
