Strach ze smrti, jeho interdisciplinární charakteristika a výzkum formou rozhovoru / Fear of Death, its Interdisciplinary Characteristic and Dialog Research Method

MUSILOVÁ, Magdalena January 2009 (has links)
Fear of death is related to the way we live, affects individuals and affects the attitude of a whole society. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical parts. In the theoretical part, a definition of concept of ethics and bioethics can be found as well as a discussion of the differing perceptions of the value of human life, basic information about euthanasia and the possibilities for palliative and hospice care. Furthermore, different views on the fear of death are noted as are presented by representatives of several areas - anthropologists, psychologists, theologians and sociologists. In the next part an interdisciplinary overview of the fear of death is compiled, which forms the theoretical basis for the practical part of the work. In this part a qualitative research was carried out through half structured interviews on fear of death. Comparing the results with outcomes from the theoretical part, it was found that death is a taboo topic in a society and that the fear of death is natural. In line with the used literature, most respondents have a great fear of the process of dying itself than of the death itself. From this point of view it was uncovered, that there is a relatively low awareness of the possibilities of palliative care between respondents.

Euthanasie (z hlediska některých evropských zemí - srovnání) / Euthanasia (in terms of some European countries - comparison)

Matuchová, Helena January 2011 (has links)
Résumé Euthanasia is and always will be a hot topic of very heated debate among both non specialists and experts. The purpose of my thesis is to provide the reader with information about euthanasia and a list of rules dealing with the issue of euthanasia in selected countries. The introduction outlines the problems of euthanasia. The second chapter is devoted to clarifying the content of the notion of euthanasia, which comes from the Greek word for the phrase, "eu" meaning good and "thanatos" meaning death, a "good death", sometimes we can also meet the looser translation of euthanasia as a beautiful death. The content of the notion of euthanasia in the course of history changed. Today we see euthanasia as an act which one person intentionally ends the life of another person's own request with the intent to end her suffering. In the chapter are identified and defined forms of euthanasia, especially active and passive. The third chapter deals with the European Union's attitude to euthanasia. No law of the European Union explicitly addressed the euthanasia. Health policy in principle falls within the competence of national governments. And every Member State has its own position on the issue of euthanasia. In this chapter, I mention the idea and recommendations of the Council of Europe, though it isn't the...

Kalkusová, Tereza January 2017 (has links)
The thesis follows a thematic line in selected works dealing with the celebration of the Day of the Dead and various manifestations of the Mexican attitude toward death. It focuses both on its alteration in time and on the sources from which Mexican perspective of the death, as a part of the national ideological construct, springs from (existentialism, rural fatalism, Mexican Revolution, "philosophy of the Mexican character", tradition of the calaveras poems and graphics). The studied writings or sectors, which the thesis deal with, are: Nahua's lyric poetry, tradition of the calaveras poems and graphics, the large metaphysic poem of José Gorostiza Death Without End; chosen chapters of the essayistic creation of Octavio Paz, Carlos Fuentes and Carlos Monsiváis; Juan Rulfo's novel Pedro Páramo and Carlos Funtes's novella Aura.

Smrt autora v kontextu sociálních sítí / Death of the Author in the context of social media

Procházková, Pavlína January 2021 (has links)
This thesis explores how the presence of authors on social media sites influences the way that fans perceive their work. The main goal of the analytical part was to determine, whether and primarily how the presence of an author on social media sites changes the relationships of readers with a complete (and therefore no longer open) text, as put forth by Roland Barthes in his The Death of the Author essay. The theoretical part of the thesis starts out by exploring the historical evolution of what an author is, differentiating between time periods and dominant theoretical approaches, with focus on postmodern authors such as Roland Barthes or Michel Foucault. The theory then focuses on the digital revolution, technological determinism and the rise of social media influence, including its impact on literary marketing and the concept of the celebrity author. Lastly, the theory summarizes studies that analyze the relationship between fan communities and current authors, specifically when it comes to the authors and their social media presence, focusing on the Harry Potter fan community and J. K. Rowling. The analysis itself is done through looking at semi-structured interviews conducted with fans of the Harry Potter saga. The analysis begins with focusing on the early relationships of fans with the saga,...

Lékařský étos a asistované suicidium: etická reflexe se zřetelem na roli lékaře / Medical ethos and assisted suicide: ethical reflection regarding the role of a doctor

Salač, Jan January 2020 (has links)
This diploma thesis deals with bioethical and medical issues of assisted suicide. Compatibility of assisted suicide and medical ethos is one of the most urgent ethical questions of modern medicine. The centre of the diploma thesis will consist of an ethical reflection of tension between assisted suicide by a doctor on one side and medical ethos, as contained, for example in the Hippocratic Oath, the code of the World Medical Association and other important medical documents, on the other side. In the introduction the diploma thesis describes the distinction between assisted suicide and other forms of active euthanasia, basic information about the legal regulations and essential elements of assisted suicide in individual countries where assisted suicide is legalized. Then, the subject will be systematically reflected based on critical analysis of the medical codes and legal regulations of the countries. Ethical reflection will also be based on the experience and reflection of doctors themselves, as recorded in professional ethical publications from countries where assisted suicide is practiced. The aim of this diploma thesis is to describe and reflect on the ethical perspective the tension that occurs in the medical assistance to assisted suicide and systematize ethically relevant issues that are...

Srovnání filosofických a etických motivů v literárním díle Alberta Camuse a Jean-Paul Sartra / Comparison of philosophic and ethic motives in the literary work of A.Camus and J.P.Sartre

Bečvářová, Lenka January 2011 (has links)
RESUME My diploma thesis is focused on the comparison of opinions of Jean-Paul Sartre and Albert Camus concerning existential and philosophical motifs in their literary work. I tried to compare the occurrence of individual existential categories, based on selected philosophical and literary works of both authors, who rank among the French branch of atheist existentialism. The first chapter deals with basic characteristics of existential philosophy and its changes between the two wars; and the consequential spreading of this philosophy thinking in the post-war Europe, in which it achieved a great success in a few branches. Majority of this chapter is devoted to French existentialism, whose goal was to explore and describe concrete existence, while human being (existence) is identified as freedom there. It was due to Jean- Paul Sartre that French existentialism has become the most significant way of thinking. The two following chapters briefly describe the lives of Sartre and Camus; because the lives of authors who write philosophical and literary works are always interconnected with their work. The second and third chapter contain the analysis of selected works of both authors, while I didn't forget the dramatic work which is a part of philosophical ad literary work and by means of that I presented mainly...

Každodennost v raném novověku z pohledu Zuzany Černínové / Everyday life in the early modern culture from the perspective of Zuzana Černínová

Benešová, Kateřina January 2017 (has links)
In my diploma thesis, I will deal with the life of Zuzana Černínová, Czech noblewoman, wife of Jan Černín from Chudenice and mother of Humprecht Jan Černín. My aim will be to approach everyday life in the early modern culture, particularly in period of Bílá hora, through Zuzana Černínová, and her numerous correspondence with her son, which has been largely preserved and was published by František Dvorský and Zdeněk Kalista. From the comprehensive correspondence, I set apart the main topics that have become the base of my thesis. I will divide my thesis into two parts. In the first part I will deal with the definition of the term "everyday life" and here I will interpret all important life events such as birth, marriage, death and funeral, where I will focus closely on Zuzana Černínová and her family. In relation to these life events I will also include the widow's dowry and the legal requirements associated with it or the influence of illnesses on contemporary society. In the second part of my research, I will focus on the person of Zuzana Černínová. I am going to analyze her position of the noblewoman which changed before and after the death of her husband, the rights she acquired after the death of her husband and her situation. It also includes the different position of the noblewoman-widow when...
