Role spirituality v zármutku a truchlení pohledem poradců pro pozůstalé / The Role of Spirituality in the Process of Grief and Bereavement from the Perspective of Bereavement Counsellors

Dohnalová, Zdeňka January 2016 (has links)
The Role of Spirituality in the Process of Grief and Bereavement from the Perspective of Bereavement Counsellors Abstract The objective of this study is to determine the role of spirituality in the process of grief and bereavement from the perspective of bereavement counsellors. The text is divided into three parts: theoretical, methodological and analytical. The theoretical part conceptualizes basic terminology of the main issue and gives the context. The methodological part describes the methods used in the research, which was conducted through qualitative research strategy using semi-structured interviews. In the analytical part I compare the results of the research with the theoretical roots. The participants of the research believe that spirituality to be a factor which positively influences the lives of the bereaved and makes their grief and mourning easier to bear. However, they also see that spirituality can make the life situation more complicated or affect their lives ambiguously. Keywords death, spirituality, bereavement, counselling for the bereaved, accompaniment

Schopnost sebevraždy a její důsledky pro tematizaci člověka / Capacity for Suicide and its Consequences for the Conception of Human Nature

Janoško, Daniel January 2021 (has links)
Name: Daniel Janoško Title: Capacity for Suicide and its Consequences for the Conception of Human Nature Abstract The aim of the thesis is, first, to analyze the ability to deliberately end one's own life, which, assuming its human exclusivity within the animal kingdom as well as its universality within the human species, should provide a rich source for revealing some already known and some potentially entirely novel aspects of human nature and condition. The capacity for suicide is therefore analysed not from the dominating position of moral philosophy, but rather from the perspective of philosophical anthropology. Based on both the philosophical (Scheler, Heidegger, Landsberg, Jaspers, etc.) and empirical anthropological literature, we attempt to answer the question of human exclusivity of the capacity for suicide. The intention of this analysis is, then, to find the essential aspects of this exclusivity from which practical consequences can be drawn for further philosophical conceptualizations of human nature. The most crucial of these appears to be the awareness of one's finality. A detailed examination of such awareness then reveals other aspects of human nature and condition, such as the specifically human communal way of living, the human's effort to endure, both materially and spiritually, in the...

Fenomén smrti v československých legiích v Rusku v letech 1914 - 1920 / The phenomenon of death in the Czechoslovak legions in Russia in the years 1914 - 1920

Boháčková, Ilona January 2014 (has links)
The topic of the submitted diploma thesis originates from the methodological concept of both historical anthropology and history of mentality as well as everyday life history. The aim of the thesis is the attempt to find a reply to the question what death meant in the lives of soldiers, in what ways they were coping with fear, pain, suffering, in what ways they perceived violence - the inevitable part of their wartime world. The topic of the thesis itself is a complex view of dying and death of Czechoslovak legionaries on the Russian frontline during the First World War, processed mainly on the basis of analysis of historic resources, stored in both the Central Military Archive and Historical Military Archive and on study of ego-documents (correspondence, diaries and personal records of particular participants of the war). In the first part the variety of forms of death have been analysed: death at the battlefront, death in field hospitals, voluntary death or death as a punishment. The second part deals with feelings and mood of fighting men in relation to death, how they accepted it and were able to cope with it, it analyses stress factors, which soldiers had to face and it studies possibilities of defence against the stress of war and death. The third part brings closer the facts concerning...

Markus Aurelius a Hovory k sobě / Marcus Aurelius and The Meditations

Wolf, Edita January 2014 (has links)
The classification of the Meditations of Marcus Aurelius as a spiritual exercise by Pierre Hadot has been widely accepted and exerts a strong influence on any interpretation of the text. However, such genre categorization is by itself an interpretative choice excluding other possible readings. The present thesis offers a new reading of the Meditations based on Gilles Deleuze's interpretation of stoicism and on his philosophy of event. This reading avoids any genre classification and focuses instead on the text itself by analyzing the changes of linguistic person. The Deleuzian interpretation of linguistic person and his concept of event allow for explanation of this particular feature of the Meditations and thus for addressing the problem of person and individual in stoic philosophy. Furthermore, the Deleuzian framework makes it possible to explore significant, but up to now marginalized themes recurring in the text that are directly linked to the problem of individuation - non-tragic theatre and death.

Je úmrtí matky důležitější pro dívky a úmrtí otce pro chlapce? Analýza z rozvojových zemí / Is Maternal Death more important for Girls and Paternal Death for Boys? An Analysis from Developing Countries

Klepetko, Tomáš January 2016 (has links)
Parental death has the potential to deteriorate various outcomes of children in the developing world. One of such outcomes is education: when a parent dies, resources are reduced, psychological distress increased, so is the necessity to replace the parent in some of their duties. Literature commonly distinguishes impacts of maternal and paternal death on education of children. Nevertheless, no papers focus directly on the interaction between gender of the deceased parent and of the orphaned child. This thesis tests empirically the hypothesis that maternal death is more important for girls and paternal death for boys. The reasoning is that mothers typically spend more time caring about little children and about household generally, so after maternal death it is necessary to find a substitute for this role and it is more likely to find one among the daughters than among the sons. Subsequently, the daughter is at a higher risk of dropping out of school due to higher responsibilities at home. Fathers, on the contrary, are primarily income-earners, so after paternal death it becomes more likely that one of the sons replaces the deceased father on labour market than one of the daughters. The son then becomes more likely to stop attending school than any of the daughters. Using cross-sectional data from...

Virtuální smrt v počítačových hrách / Virtual death in video games

Štěpánová, Petra January 2013 (has links)
The topic of this thesis is virtual death in video games. In theoretical part, the concept of avatar (player's agent in the game world) is defined, concerning the relationship between player and avatar as well as the main characteristics of the avatar. The aim of the theoretical core of this thesis is to introduce virtual death; because of various expressions of death in many games, it is difficult to describe virtual death generally. Virtual death, which is compared also to the real death, is revealed as a communication of player's failure. What can not be separated from virtual death is the instant resurrection of the avatar, and also the means how to avoid virtual death. The practical part of the thesis offers a close reading of the computer role-playing game Planescape: Torment, focusing on the theme of death. Unlike most mainstream games, Torment presents the player with sophisticated perspectives on the matters of life, death, immortality and responsibility. Even the high-order goal of the main character (which becomes the goal of the player as well) is to gain knowledge about himself and then willingly die. This stands in a sharp contrast to usual narratives, forcing the player to suppress the life-saving reflex and let his avatar die in the end. The comparative method is used to identify...
