Paradojas temporales en Maldito amor y otros cuentos de Rosario Ferré : Una aproximación desde la narratología / Temporal paradoxes in Sweet Diamond Dust and Other Stories by Rosario Ferré : A narratological approach

Escribano, Mario R. January 2024 (has links)
The following thesis addresses the temporality of Sweet Diamond Dust and Other Stories (1986) by Rosario Ferré from the perspective of narratology. Not only are temporal paradoxes or boundaries and anachronies studied, but also spatial-temporal coincidences and non-coincidences (also called chronotopes). The analyzed data shows that the four short stories that make up the collection are based on the events narrated and not on chronological time. This explains that the temporal data can be eliminated without altering the story.

Thus, the aim of this work was to analyze the influence of the abiotical factors on the spatial-temporal distribution of Paralonchurus brasiliensis (Pisces, Sciaenidae) caught by-catch with the shrimp fishing of Ubatuba and Caraguatatuba regions, north coast of S?o Paulo State. The fishes were captured every month from January to December 2002. Samples were collected by otter trawl at 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 and 35m depths. The temperatures (surface and bottom), salinities (surface and bottom), sediment features and organic matters were verified for each depth. During all period of the study 12.642 specimens of P. brasiliensis were captured at Ubatuba and 17.166 at Caraguatatuba, which totalized the biomass of 267 for the first and 339kg for the other region. The females outnumbered males in fish population. The greatest values of biomass and number of individuals were registered at the summer and autumn seasons, while the lowest values were observed at the winter and spring seasons. The greatest abundances were found from 15 to 25m depth. In this study, it was verified that P. brasiliensis is a coastal waters associate species. The spatialtemporal distribution of P. brasiliensis is affected by intrusion of SACW and depth for the coastal region and by depth and sediment in sheltered areas such as Caraguatatuba / A compreens?o dos processos ambientais que controlam a distribui??o espa?o-temporal dos peixes ? de fundamental import?ncia para o manejo e conserva??o dos estoques pesqueiros.

[pt] AVALIAÇÃO DO CICLO DE VIDA ESPAÇO-TEMPORAL DE SISTEMAS DE GERAÇÃO DE ENERGIA HIDRELÉTRICA / [en] SPATIO-TEMPORAL LIFE CYCLE ASSESSMENT OF HYDROELECTRIC POWER GENERATION SYSTEMS

VANESSA CARDOSO DE ALBUQUERQUE 09 July 2024 (has links)
[en] Considering the strategic importance of hydroelectric power generation systems in Brazil s energy matrix, the objective of this dissertation is to propose and apply a space-time life cycle assessment (LCA) model for these systems. The methodology comprises (i) bibliographic and documentary research on the central themes of the research, (ii) development of a conceptual model for the spatiotemporal LCA of hydroelectric power generation systems, and (iii) an empirical study focusing on the application of the proposed model in the Sinop Hydroelectric Power Plant, located in the state of Mato Grosso, Brazil. The main result is a spatial-temporal LCA model that was empirically validated by its application in the referred hydroelectric power plant. By integrating temporal and spatial parameters into a new LCA framework for hydroelectric power generation systems in Brazil, the proposed model provides a more comprehensive and accurate assessment of the environmental impacts of these systems, thus contributing to the development of more sustainable policies and strategies in the Brazilian energy sector. This may assist in decision-making processes related to new hydroelectric power generation projects, including the definition of goals to minimize environmental and human health damage during the implementation and operation of these projects. By providing new life cycle inventory information for hydroelectric power systems, this dissertation will also contribute to the National Life Cycle Inventory Database (SICV Brazil).
