The diploma thesis was preceded with the specification of specialised atelier TG02 of which the purpose was to prepare an urbanistic study of sport area Hněvkovského territory that is found in the municipal district Brno - Komárov. The urbanistic design was aimed to create an important territory for sport professional as well as relax activities. The specification included also the design of current BMX area and creation of background for sportsmen as well as visitors. The diploma thesis that deals with the building of cycling stadium in form of a study links to this theme. The stadium is situated in the North-East part of the areas, near Hněvkovského road. The design regards sufficient scattering surfaces around the building, simple orientation in the building´s surroundings as well as in the building itself is emphasised. Its glass façade is an important expression element of the building as well as the video mapping systems proposed for projection and lighting of this façade. The attractiveness of the whole area is underlined with parking areas, refreshment point of current cycling track and new area of sport activities (dirt park, ball games).

Master's thesis called How Did Sports Journalism Change in Czechoslovakian Press after 1948? Comparing Periods 1945-1948 and 1953-1958 deals with the development and comparison of sports journalism in post-war Czechoslovakia and through the qualitative content analysis of three selected sports periodicals (Ruch v tělesné výchově/Ruch v tělovýchově a sportu, Stadion, Československý sport). Research focuses on media reports, graphic and language changes and organizational development of the periodicals. Secondary subjects are the fate of selected editors, the post-war development of the Sports Journalists Society and the unification of physical education movement. The author used the rich archive material of individual editions of sports periodicals and sources from the National Archives. Secondarily he used the review literature on media development and journalism after World War II, using historical monographs to analyze the historical context that is absolutely crucial to understanding post-war developments in Czechoslovakia and the press.

Work deals with variant design of steel structure of ice hockey stadium located in Opava. It is a three-aisled hall with shape consists of intersection of ellipse and rectangle with dimensions 70 x 82m. The roof has cylindrical shape with approx. 50 m radius. The building is about 14 m high. Object is divided to three parts – main aisle and two side aisles. The main aisle contains of a rectangle of dimensions 40 x 42 m and two semicircles of radius approx. 20 m. Frames of main aisle are made of arc roof truss connected to steel plate columns. The side aisles with rectangular shape with dimensions 15 x 42 m are connected to main aisle. The structure of side aisle is made of a sloped roof truss. Longitudinal bracing and cross bracing are used to obtain spatial rigidity of the structure. Roof and wall cladding is made of Kingspan sandwich panels.

A specialized project of „Architectural study of modification of the bicycle stadium Favorit Brno in the BVV area and urban design of the Hněvkovský sports complex in Komárov“ preceded the diploma thesis. The aim of the project was preparation of the area for cycling stadium with all the necessary facilities and functional connections. The diploma thesis develops a previous project and elaborates the compound of the cycling stadium in a form of a study. The building should recpect to the current demands of this sport, such as a closed roof of the building, siberian pine track material and a 250-meter track length. The building will be situated in the area adjacent to the current biker complex in Brno Komárov.

Diploma thesis Aquapark Brno is directly connected with the previous specialist course "Sports Center Za Lužánkami Brno". This project dealt was focused on overall concept, architectural and urban study of this area with an emphasis on sports, recreation and relaxation. There was created a zone of predominantly professional sport in the southern part of this area. There were built football and ice hockey stadiums on the newly created terrace/platform. These stadiums are located approximately in the same places as their current (football) or non-existent (hockey) predecessors. The terrace/platform (parking is located under the terrace) continues, and the newly expanded Boby Hotel follows the recreational sports zone with an Aquapark and outdoor sports grounds located behind the existing Tesco shopping centre. There is formed a new park in north of the sports grounds forming a recreational-relaxation zone on the territory of Planýrka. The existing building of a 50 meter swimming pool dominates the area of Aquapark. It was built in 1979 according to the project architect Otakar Oplatek. However this object no longer meets the requirements of today's visitors or athletes. The new building which includes a twenty-five meter tall swimming pool with a background is being added to the existing building. So there is a separable swimming area created here, which can serve both - swimmers and teenagers or professional athletes. There is a good possibility of racing as well. The new building connects eastward to the building of the roofed Aquapark partially hidden beneath the terraces and resting areas. These three through-flowing but mutually separable objects together with the platform define the area of the outdoor aquapark. He is also separate off from the noisy Sportovní street, but it has a sufficient supply of sunlight. The aim of the diploma thesis is the architectural design of the stadium for track cycling. It deals with a covered hall, which is located in the area of Komárov on the territory of the sports resort Hněvkovského. The urban design ofthe territory is elaborated simultaneously with the study of the hall. The resort offers a wide range of sport fields for recreational as well as top athletes, and the new velodrome hall should dominate the entire area. The buildingprovides background for the important cycling club TJ Favorit Brno. It also responds to the current requirements of track cycling and thus enables the organization of international races.

The theme of my dissertation is to create the architectural study of a football stadium in Brno behind Lužánky. The proposed stadium is to create facilities for football Brno, athletes and fans. Stadium capacity is 23 thousands audience. Object is an organic shape and is forming two main parts. The first part of the concrete superstructuce and second is a steel structure carrying a transparent facade composed of ETFE foil.

This diploma thesis is about designing the structure of roof of swimming stadium. Three solutions are created - concrete arc with tie, steel truss slab and concrete pretensioned membrane. One choosed solution - concrete pretensioned membrane - is afterwards developed. In the beginning there are several designs of geometry fulfilling the requirements for given type of structure being created. In part of static calculation, the parametrical mathematical model in form of macro in APDL language for Ansys software has been created. Afterwards all the parameters (initial state of cables, level of pretension, dimensions of membrane and peripheral frame, etc.) has been optimized in order to the membrane be fulfilling criterias for ultimate limit state and serviceability limit state. Afterwards other selected parts of structure has been checked. On basis of designed geometry and design checks in static calculation the drawings of conctruction and designed parts has been created. In the end, the 3D model of the structure has been created in graphical software Rhinoceros. Then visualizations of structure in concstruction stages and after completion has been rendered.

This diploma thesis is divided into three parts: theoretical, calculation and experimental measurement. The issue of humid air and air-conditioning in winter stadiums is elaborately analysed in the theoretical part. In the calculation part, the dessertation focuses on the optimization of current draft of hockey hall air conditioning system. The hall is now in operation during the season, which means from September to March. In the dissertation are discussed two variants of the draft. The first variant is draft upgrade to year-round operation with condensing dehumidification. The second option is solved as a combination of air handler unit system and absorption dehumidification. This variant is also designed for seasonal and year-round operation of the ice rink. At the end of the dissertation are all of them compared in terms of annual costs. The experimental measurement is carried out on dehumidification of air from areas with high water gains, in this case swimming pool hall model. This problematics is solved by changing the speed of ventilator and using Peltier generator.
