PRODUCTIVITY ANALYSIS FROM A CLASSICAL PERSPECTIVE: THEORY OF MEASUREMENT AND MEASUREMENT OF THEORY

WIRKIERMAN, ARIEL LUIS 01 March 2012 (has links)
This is a study on the notion of productivity, viewed from a Classical perspective. First, the distinction between physical productivity and productiveness (i.e. profitability) is connected to the distinction between the expenditure side and value added side of the economy, seen as a circular flow. Second, a mapping of some theoretical frameworks into empirical structures of the System of National Accounts is advanced. Then, indicators of physical productivity changes with the (growing) subsystem as a unit of analysis are obtained, together with measures reflecting the degree of surplus generating capacity at the level of individual industries. Aggregation rules and reduction procedures are devised and applied to deal with the heterogeneous nature of produced means of production. All throughout the study, empirical applications of the analytical results are provided. For the most part, empirical work is referred to the case of Italy (1999-2007), though some results concern a set of advanced industrial economies (Germany, France, Italy, Japan, UK and the US) during the 1995-2005 decade.

The practice of inclusive education in the Thohoyandou area : a critical reflection

Sidogi, Mukondeleli Grace 08 1900 (has links)
The National Commission of Special Needs in Education and Training (NCSNET) Document (1997) which portrays the new Education Policy in South Africa. clearly states that one of the crucial outcomes is that all possible barriers to learning must be eliminated so that all learners are able to actualise their full potential. Inclusive education, as embedded within the Education Policy, is regarded as an approach which will allow learners to actualise their full potential. This study is a critical reflection on whether inclusive education is practised in primary schools in the Thohoyandou area. The research findings indicated that inclusive education is not practised in the Thohoyandou area. A major factor or barrier in this regard is that teachers and principals are not empowered in terms ofknowledge to practise inclusive education. Other factors acting as barriers to the implementation of inclusive education are that the school buildings do not cater for physically and visually impaired learners as well as the attitudes of teachers, parents and peers are inclined to be negative towards learners experiencing barriers to learning. The community should also be educated and empowered to assist and understand these learners, who will become the future members of the community, more effectively, As inclusive education is one of the means whereby all learners are given the opportunity to actualise their full potential, these barriers must be addressed so that inclusive education can be practised in all primary schools in the Thohoyandou area. A few strategies to implement inclusive education in the Thohoyandou area are suggested by the researcher. / Educational Studies / M. Ed. (Special Needs Education)

Regularizace nelegální migrace jako proces tvorby veřejných politik / Regularization of Illegal Migration as a Policy-making Process

Dumont, Anna January 2012 (has links)
'Regularization of Illegal Migration as a Policy-making Process' deals with the social problem of having a high number of irregular migrants in the Czech Republic and regularization as a tool that could help reduce it. Regularization is seen as a political process theoretically described by using the Advocacy Coalition Framework. This thesis tries to find normative definitions of the two coalitions, which hold different beliefs and two different points of view rather than describe the problem. The work is partly designed as a case study in which the theory is applied to the issue of regularization in part there is also an explanation of regularization as well as the Advocacy Coalition Framework. The thesis defines the two coalitions within the subsystem - the for-regularization and anti-regularization coalitions. Each coalition has its deep core and policy core beliefs that determine the relationship to the topic as well as the relationship between the coalitions themselves. In conclusion, the author summarized the information about the coalitions and their belief in three comparative tables where one can confront their approaches. The last part also contains a chapter on The Changes of Beliefs and Policies, where there is an introduction of two policies: the system of voluntary return and that...
