Zlepšování parametrů prototypu mycí samosběrací nástavby / Improving the parameters of the prototype of self-loading water sweeper superstructure

This thesis explores development stages of a Self-loading water sweeper superstructure prototype. The theoretical part describes thoroughfares in terms of pollution, various types of cleaning machines currently in use and a detailed description of the FMEA method, which was used for identification of potential failure modes and risk mitigation. Stages of measurement and superstructure parameter improvement are proposed, executed and described in the practical part. In these stages, creation of model documentation, verification of functionality and stage of analysis FMEA are included. Furthermore, this section describes the results of tests devised to validate key superstructure parameters. The result of the work is a functional Self-loading water sweeper superstructure prototype, confirmation of key superstructure functional parameters and a draft of a series of improvement measures aimed at eliminating potential risks associated with operation of the superstructure.

Work includes design of new platforms meet the conditions for safe access for people with limited mobility, next adjustment are adjustment of the geometric parameters of the track superstructure and substructure, including system of drainage station.

The subject of the Master's thesis is to design the redevelopment of the Veseli nad Moravou railway station. This renovation will include renewal of both, railway superstructure and substructure, including drainage system and new platform construcion proposal in order to meet current legislation regarding access of persons with reduced mibility and orientation skills. This thesis also deals with design of the track geometry compoments and geometry of set of switches at both heads of the railway station to fulfill the maximum train velocity demands at certain tracks. Last but not least, the rail track scheme of the station has been simplified.

Anthropocentric Turn of Late Capitalism Abstract Bc. Radek Holodňák This paper constitutes the first step towards a complex description of the transformation of production relationships under late capitalism while paying special attention to the theme of human emancipation. The author sets as his goal to study how corporations unknowingly apply Marx's concept of the 'species being', a being which constitutes itself in the process of work, with the aim of keeping capitalist production efficient and up to date with current demand. To accomplish this, explanations of the concepts 'alienated labour' and 'species being' are presented, drawing mainly from Marx's Economic and Philosophic Manuscripts in the context of the evolution of human organizations as described by Frederic Laloux in Reinventing Organizations. The first chapter introduces theses concerning the tendency of capitalism to overcome and outlive itself due to the realization of the inner antinomies. One of the manifestations of this phenomenon is the so-called anthropocentric turn in which the centre of interest of late-capitalist production is shifted from material goods to man. En stor del av Trafikverkets budget går till att reparera och underhålla våra broar. Underhållsåtgärder orsakar också trafikproblem med stora miljöutsläpp och samhällskonsekvenser som följd. Eftersom broar vanligtvis dimensioneras för en lång livslängd på 120 år är det viktigt att planera för långsiktiga lösningar och förutse konsekvenserna av kommande underhållsåtgärder. Genom att använda mer underhållsfria material finns möjligheten att minska kostnaderna och koldioxidsläppen. Målet med examensarbetet är att ta reda på hur stora besparingarna är genom att svara på frågan: ”Vilka fördelar erhålls av att använda mer underhållsfria material i broöverbyggnader ur kostnads- och miljösynpunkt?”. Syftet är att påvisa hur stora kostnadsbesparingarna och de minskade koldioxidutsläppen kan bli för att underlätta för berörda parter i branschen att planera för långsiktigare lösningar. För att besvara målformuleringen jämförs överbyggnaden hos en konventionellt utförd samverkansbro med huvudbalkar av stål och broplatta av betong med alternativa material. Grunden för undersökningen utgörs av överbyggnaden hos en samverkansbro med huvudbalkar av stål och broplatta av betong. Överbyggnaden utförs med sex olika materialkombinationer med mer eller mindre underhållsfria material. Materialen som ingår i undersökningen är vanligt kolstål och rostfritt stål, betong och modern injekteringsbetong samt asfalt och slitbetong. Överbyggnaden dimensioneras, enligt den europeiska standarden Eurokod, med samtliga materialkombinationer för att fastställa materialmängderna. Materialmängderna ligger till grund för att bestämma rimliga kostnader och koldioxidutsläpp som beräknas, analyseras och jämförs i en livscykelkostnadsanalys och en livscykelanalys. Resultatet visar att en bro byggd med konventionella material ger en sammanlagd kostnad under sin livstid som är mer än dubbelt så stor jämfört med en mer underhållsfri bro med rostfritt stål i både balkar och armering samt slitbetong som beläggning istället för tätskikt och asfalt. Ur miljösynpunkt är den underhållsfria bron med rostfritt stål redan från början ett bättre alternativ med mindre koldioxidutsläpp tack vare att mindre mängder material behövs för att klara av samma laster. Det resulterar i att den alternativa bron är ett bättre val både ur kostnads- och miljösynpunkt med ett livscykelperspektiv. / Bridges of today require high maintenance which leads to high costs and big environmental emissions. To secure the structures sustainability the magnitude of future maintenance should be considered to the initial investment, both in an environmental point of view and costs. Increased quality usually leads to higher initial cost, but savings maybe possible in a long-term perspective if the maintenance can decrease. Bridges has a life-span on 120 years. Therefor decreased maintenance could imply a vital saving. The purpose of this thesis is to analyse costs and carbon dioxide emissions of a bridge superstructure in a composite bridge with different materials in a life cycle perspective. The investigated materials is carbon steel and stainless steel, traditional concrete and modern prepakt concrete and also asphalt and directly cast concrete surfacing. Six various bridges has been designed to compare the different materials. The calculations have been performed due to the European standards, Eurocode. Investigations of the ingoing materials impact on the environment has been measured in a simplified life cycle assessment, LCA. Emphasis on the analyse has been on the carbon dioxide emissions. To measure the costs a life cycle cost, LCC, has been performed. The result of the investigation shows that a bridge with conventional materials in the end of its life cycle has cost twice as much as the bridge with stainless steel in both reinforcement and beams. In an environmental view the alternatives with stainless steel is better from the beginning. That is thanks to less materials are needed for the same loads. The result shows that the bridge with alternative materials is better account of cost and environmental views.

The subject of the diploma thesis is the design and check of the supporting structure of the railway bridge on the line Brno - Česká Třebová. The bridge carries a double-track railway line across Šámalova Street in Brno. The span of the bridge is 16.58 m, the length of the supporting structure is 17.1 m and the width in cross section is 17.81 m. Two variants of the supporting structure have been developed. The first variant is a bridge with a composite supporting structure, the second variant is a bridge with concreted steel girders. A technical report and drawing documentation are prepared for the selected variant.

The Representation of Poverty in Great Depression American Literature

The objective of this thesis is to explore how American authors represented poverty across different states during the Depression Era. I have chosen to review social reform author John Steinbeck, and proletariat authors, Michael Gold, Meridel Le Sueur, and William Attaway. Before addressing the issues presented in the data collection tools (novels): The Grapes of Wrath, Jews Without Money, The Girl, and Blood on the Forge, I reviewed the fundamentals of the events leading up to the crash of the stock market, which spiraled the United States and the world at large in the greatest Depression ever known. In this thesis, I have also outlined a summary of the novels for the benefit of readers who may not have had the opportunity to read them. I have applied a Marxist literary critical analysis to the preceding novels highlighting three overarching concepts of the theory: economic power, materialism versus spirituality, and class conflict. Evolving from these concepts are the key tenets of Marxism: base, superstructure, hegemony, commodification, class conflict, and false consciousness. In the literary critical analysis, I applied these key tenets to the plot of each novel in order to underscore the ideologies of Marxist theorists with regards to the existence of class divisions and how this division creates class conflict between the bourgeoisie and the proletariats.
