Previous issue date: 2004-02-17 / The present study analyzes the significance and the implications of telework in the professorship of college level in Brazil, objectifying to demonstrate the benefits and applications derived of this process for the practical college teacher, also the ample functional fan derived from telework applied in the work of the university professor. Using a study of case promoted together to the professors of the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul (UFMS), the research evaluates the relation of the teaching work with telework and, also, the impacts, benefits and problems that will be able to occur in result of the implantation of telework for the professors of the UFMS. Consequently, a quantitative and descriptive analysis was made, being that the analysis descriptive statistics served of base for generics inferences of qualitative nature. From the results of the field research, that used as main instrument questionnaire with open and closed questions, the study concludes inside that telework is a viable possibility and, on its limitations, beneficial for the superior teaching work. / O presente estudo analisa a significância e as implicações do teletrabalho na docência de nível superior no Brasil, objetivando demonstrar os benefícios e aplicações advindos desse processo para a prática professoral superior, assim como o amplo leque funcional derivado do teletrabalho aplicado no labor do professor universitário. Utilizando-se de um estudo de caso promovido junto aos docentes da Universidade Federal de Mato Grosso do SUL (UFMS), a pesquisa avalia a relação do trabalho docente com o teletrabalho e, também, os impactos, benefícios e problemas que poderão ocorrer em decorrência da implantação do teletrabalho aos docentes da UFMS. Para tanto, foi feita uma análise quantitativa e descritiva, sendo que a análise estatística descritiva serviu de base para inferências generalizadoras de natureza qualitativa. A partir dos resultados da pesquisa de campo, que utilizou como instrumento principal questionário com perguntas abertas e fechadas, o estudo conclui que o teletrabalho é uma possibilidade viável e, dentro de suas limitações, benéfica para o trabalho docente superior.

Organizational Leadership Activities That Positively Influence Virtual Employee EngagementPerkins, Milton Jones 01 January 2018 (has links)
Considering the growing virtual workforce, it is important for people-managers to understand whether traditional management techniques produce increased engagement and greater productivity with a virtual population. Guided by James Heskett, W. Earl Sasser Jr., and Leonard Schlesinger's conceptual Service Profit Chain framework, this study focused on addressing the gap in contemporary literature related to management techniques that influence virtual employee engagement. Much of the current research provides a foundation for managing and engaging traditional office-based employees. To better understand which experientially-based management techniques influenced traditional employee engagement for a group of virtual employees, a qualitative descriptive phenomenological methodology was used to collect and analyze data to identify differences between traditional and virtual employee management techniques. Semi structured interviews with a criterion-based sample group of 13 study participants were conducted. Input from participants were analyzed using a thematic inductive approach to understand and categorize the experiential interactions between managers and their virtual employees, discover how those experiences were defined and whether those categorized experiences influenced engagement. The results of this study illustrated how increased communication, autonomy, development, clarity, and succinct goals can be employed as effective people-management strategies for this increasingly more diverse and growing population. The social implication of this research produced insight about how these experiences created a more engaged, better work/life-balanced, happier, and mentally healthier virtual workforce.

This article analyzes the regulatory framework of teleworking. In that sense, we approach different definitions to finally establish the definition and formalities required according to our legislation. We will reflect about the problems that telework pretends to solve, so we can establish then if we have the minimum standards that allows the use according to our labor rights or whether there is a poor regulation in relation to safety and health at work and labor inspections, for that reason we propose some alternatives solutions for above mentioned deficiencies. / El presente artículo analiza el marco normativo del teletrabajo. En ese sentido, abordamos diversas definiciones en esa materia hasta establecer la definición y formalidades exigidas en base a nuestra legislación. Reflexionaremos respecto a la problemática que el teletrabajo pretende solucionar y así establecer si contamos con normas mínimas que permitan una utilización conforme a nuestros derechos laborales o si estamos ante una regulación deficiente en lo relacionado a la seguridad y salud en el trabajo y la inspección laboral, motivo por el cual proponemos algunas alternativas de solución frente a las deficiencias comentadas.
