Object Tracking based on Eye Tracking Data : A comparison with a state-of-the-art video trackerEjnestrand, Ida, Jakobsson, Linnéa January 2020 (has links)
The process of locating moving objects through video sequences is a fundamental computer vision problem. This process is referred to as video tracking and has a broad range of applications. Even though video tracking is an open research topic that have received much attention during recent years, developing accurate and robust algorithms that can handle complicated tracking tasks and scenes is still challenging. One challenge in computer vision is to develop systems that like humans can understand, interpret and recognize visual information in different situations. In this master thesis work, a tracking algorithm based on eye tracking data is proposed. The aim was to compare the tracking performance of the proposed algorithm with a state-of-the-art video tracker. The algorithm was tested on gaze signals from five participants recorded with an eye tracker while the participants were exposed to dynamic stimuli. The stimuli were moving objects displayed on a stationary computer screen. The proposed algorithm is working offline meaning that all data is collected before analysis. The results show that the overall performance of the proposed eye tracking algorithm is comparable to the performance of a state-of-the-art video tracker. The main weaknesses are low accuracy for the proposed eye tracking algorithm and handling of occlusion for the video tracker. We also suggest a method for using eye tracking as a complement to object tracking methods. The results show that the eye tracker can be used in some situations to improve the tracking result of the video tracker. The proposed algorithm can be used to help the video tracker to redetect objects that have been occluded or for some other reason are not detected correctly. However, ATOM brings higher accuracy.

Virale SammlungenHolschbach, Susanne 21 June 2016 (has links)

Obsahy skrytého kurikula jako vzdělávací obsahy výtvarné výchovy / Contents of hidden curriculum as learning contents of Art EducationNováková, Denisa January 2016 (has links)
NOVÁKOVÁ, D.: Contents of hidden curriculum as learning contents of Art Education. [Diploma thesis] Prague 2015 - Charles University, Faculty of Education, Department of Art Education, 126 pages The thesis is tackling the hidden curriculum, in particular the hidden contents which take place in art education. It researches possible use of these contents in teaching of art education. The thesis has a character of qualitative explorative probe. The methods of research are observations and informal interviews. The study shows that the contents of the hidden curriculum bear an interesting educational potential for art education. However, teachers often do not register the contents or register but do not use them. The aim of the probe is thus to identify the various contents of the hidden curriculum in the practice of art education (with relation to socio-cultural and artistic context) and outline how they can be grasped. Subsequently, one content is specifically transformed into the design of art education, realized and reflected. Art part of the thesis is conceived as the author's art work reflection, focusing on the hidden side of her art work.

"Hidden parties" v české komunální politice / Hidden Parties in the Czech Local PoliticsBrýdl, Matěj January 2017 (has links)
This thesis describes the parties, which stand for the local elections under another name, then is an actual name of the political party. However, there is not definition yet, in the Czech Republic this topic is not even included in a literature. Those parties, which can be called as hidden parties, do not appear only in the Czech Republic, but they can be found in other countries as well. This thesis describes the problematic of the hidden parties also in England, Belgium, Estonia, Croatia, and Poland. The main part of this thesis is devoted to the hidden parties in the Czech local elections. Beside the definition of what parties can be considered as hidden parties, this thesis includes comparison with other forms of candidacy and the development of frequency of these parties in individual years. There are also compared two forms of candidacy, which under certain circumstances can be considered as hidden parties. The biggest part of this thesis is devoted to the success of these parties and to which parties most often hide their names. Several specific hidden parties are then further analyzed to determine the historical development of parties in a particular city and the degree of connection of candidates and the political party.

Finding Presence of the Absent : To those who are soon forgottenLiljebäck, Emelie January 2020 (has links)
This paper concerns the ordinary stories. It is about the forgotten and the things that have gone unnoticed. It is about female history and is a political exploration into what and who is allowed to take space. I focus on everyday life in a domestic space, where I see these things that are discarded, often are overlooked and not talked about. I explore society from a kitchen point of view with a grandmother’s life in focus. It is a story about everyday rituals in the home, which are of an important cultural deed. The objects support her in these rituals, and they also help me to tell. I investigate the memorial space and with my artistic practice I create a room to remember those who are soon no longer with us. In this project I work within the craft-field of corpus. I use the tradition of corpus as a method of working but also as a tool to discuss my subject. As corpus is talking about class and hierarchies it creates a counterweight to my project.

The hidden cost of knowledge transfer in the OS strategy from the manager’s lensKazan, Ghiwa, Portela, Diana January 2020 (has links)
Companies that engage in captive offshoring activities as part of their strategic decisions, experience “known and unknown” hidden costs during its implementation influencing a firm’s performance. In this sense, analyzing the hidden costs of the knowledge transfer from different managerial levels and perspectives contributes to conceptualize and enrich the OS literature from the experience of a case study. The purpose of this thesis is to explore the hidden costs in the knowledge transfer as part of the OS implementation from a multi-level managerial perspective. This research has a qualitative methodology and as a research strategy the authors choose interviews that were performed online. The interviews consists of 8 managers from different levels. The findings show that managers from different levels have identified key aspects of the “known and unknown” hidden costs in the knowledge transfer within the micro-level during the OS implementation towards improving outcomes expectations. Communication has been found as a critical factor for the knowledge flow representing the main constraint of an efficient transfer of tacit knowledge in which international projects are influenced by high cultural, language gaps, and geographical distance. Unknown hidden cost was reflected in an unexpected high turnover and limited time frame.

Uncovering Hidden Needs in Ground Engineering: Case Study of LKAB Wassara / Identifiering av dolda behov inom grundläggning: Fallstudie av LKAB WassaraKordas, Igor January 2016 (has links)
This thesis stemmed from the need for better understanding of the ground engineering market by LKAB Wassara - an innovative company that developed a novel technology of hydraulic DTH-drilling; and from the insight that achieving customer satisfaction through fulfilment of hidden needs in the construction industry is a promising yet challenging endeavour. The challenge addressed in this thesis is twofold: firstly, the conventional market studies often lead to the hidden customer needs being lost, while these needs are important for product innovation; and secondly, there is a lack of case studies exploring the explicit or hidden needs in the construction business that might be partially explained by complexity of interrelations of products, services and stakeholders inherited to the construction market. These considerations shaped the presented study to be aimed at performing a case study for hidden needs analysis in the construction sector; exploring explicit and hidden customer needs in the ground engineering market in Sweden; and developing recommendations for Wassara’s current and future product offerings and business development based on results of the ground engineering market study and the needs analysis. To meet these aims an extensive literature review on methods for uncovering hidden customer needs and approaches for customer satisfaction analysis has been made, resulting in a tool-kit that enabled a market study and analysis of customer explicit and hidden needs for the ground engineering market in Sweden. In its turn, the market study succeeded to reveal both the explicit and hidden needs that have not been satisfied by any of the companies operating on the market. The uncovered needs have been translated into recommendations for Wassara’s future product offerings and business development through the Kano’s matrix and the value perception equations. Finally, the construction equipment market is found to be very technology led, which is not necessarily a limitation, but there is a need to both be able to invest into new technology projects and to act upon customer needs. In particular, the study found many evidences that service, support and knowledge communication to the customers and users is important in order for them to retain the full value of the product.

Detecting Changes During the Manipulation of an Object Jointly Held by Humans and RobotsDetektera skillnader under manipulationen av ett objekt som gemensamt hålls av människor och robotarReynaga Barba, Valeria January 2015 (has links)
In the last decades research and development in the field of robotics has grown rapidly. This growth has resulted in the emergence of service robots that need to be able to physically interact with humans for different applications. One of these applications involves robots and humans cooperating in handling an object together. In such cases, there is usually an initial arrangement of how the robot and the humans hold the object and the arrangement stays the same throughout the manipulation task. Real-world scenarios often require that the initial arrangement changes throughout the task, therefore, it is important that the robot is able to recognize these changes and act accordingly. We consider a setting where a robot holds a large flat object with one or two humans. The aim of this research project is to detect the change in the number of agents grasping the object using only force and torque information measured at the robot's wrist. The proposed solution involves defining a transition sequence of four steps that the humans should perform to go from the initial scenario to the final one. The force and torque information is used to estimate the grasping point of the agents with a Kalman filter. While the humans are going from one scenario to the other, the estimated point changes according to the step of the transition the humans are in. These changes are used to track the steps in the sequence using a hidden Markov model (HMM). Tracking the steps in the sequence means knowing how many agents are grasping the object. To evaluate the method, humans that were not involved in the training of the HMM were asked to perform two tasks: a) perform the previously defined sequence as is, and b) perform a deviation of the sequence. The results of the method show that it is possible to detect the change between one human and two humans holding the object using only force and torque information.

Algorithmic evaluation of Parameter Estimation for Hidden Markov Models in FinanceLauri, Linus January 2014 (has links)
Modeling financial time series is of great importance for being successful within the financial market. Hidden Markov Models is a great way to include the regime shifting nature of financial data. This thesis will focus on getting an in depth knowledge of Hidden Markov Models in general and specifically the parameter estimation of the models. The objective will be to evaluate if and how financial data can be fitted nicely with the model. The subject was requested by Nordea Markets with the purpose of gaining knowledge of HMM’s for an eventual implementation of the theory by their index development group. The research chiefly consists of evaluating the algorithmic behavior of estimating model parameters. HMM’s proved to be a good approach of modeling financial data, since much of the time series had properties that supported a regime shifting approach. The most important factor for an effective algorithm is the number of states, easily explained as the distinguishable clusters of values. The suggested algorithm of continuously modeling financial data is by doing an extensive monthly calculation of starting parameters that are used daily in a less time consuming usage of the EM-algorithm.

Det vilseledande i det dolda : En kvalitativ studie om småbarnsföräldrars upplevelser gentemotdold marknadsföring vid köp av barnkläderGiragossian, Helen, Salem, Maream January 2021 (has links)
Purpose: The purpose is to create an understanding of parents of young children's attitudes to hidden marketing when buying children's clothing and to investigate how parents of young children experience the design of product presentations in hidden marketing. Theoretical reference frame: The theoretical framework of this study is based on different theories and concepts that concern the field of study. Those theories are: Theory of planned behavior, Word-of-Mouth and Electronic-Word-of-Mouth, Attitude toward advertising and Trust to companies on social media. Methodology: The study uses a qualitative method which is based on 15 semi-structured video interviews. The informants have been selected using a non-probability sample. All interviews were conducted by FaceTime and Skype. Conclusion: The conclusion clearly showed that there are three different attitudes to hidden marketing, positive, negative and impartial. Informants with a negative attitude proved to bemore critical of the sources, while the informants with a positive attitude spread positiveword of mouth by recommending products to their acquaintances. The impartial group findsit difficult to trust the various marketing techniques.
