Σκοπός της παρούσας διπλωματικής εργασίας είναι η σχεδίαση φωτοβολταϊκού (ΦΒ) συστήματος συνδεδεμένου στο δίκτυο διανομής της ΔΕΗ. Στόχος είναι η αναλυτική παρουσίαση των μονάδων που χρησιμοποιούνται στο συνδεδεμένο στο δίκτυο φωτοβολταϊκό σύστημα ούτως ώστε να καθίσταται δυνατή η εγκατάσταση του. Στο πρώτο κεφάλαιο γίνεται μια εισαγωγική αναφορά για την ανάγκη χρησιμοποίησης των ΦΒ συστημάτων, τα είδη των συστημάτων που χρησιμοποιούνται σήμερα καθώς και των πλεονεκτημάτων και μειονεκτημάτων που έχουν σε σχέση με τις υπόλοιπες πηγές ενέργειας που έχει στη διάθεση του ο άνθρωπος σήμερα. Στο δεύτερο κεφάλαιο γίνεται αναλυτική περιγραφή της ηλιακής ακτινοβολίας. Παρουσιάζονται οι εξισώσεις υπολογισμού της έντασης της ηλιακής ακτινοβολίας καθώς και οι εξισώσεις υπολογισμού της άμεσης και της διάχυτης ακτινοβολίας που προσπίπτουν σε μια επιφάνεια. Ακόμα, γίνεται αναφορά στη διαδικασία επιλογής κατάλληλου προσανατολισμού του φωτοβολταϊκού πλαισίου ώστε να επιτυγχάνεται η μέγιστη δυνατή απορρόφηση της ηλιακής ακτινοβολίας από το ΦΒ πλαίσιο. Στο τελευταίο τμήμα του κεφαλαίου αυτού περιγράφονται τα όργανα μέτρησης της ηλιακής ακτινοβολίας και η αρχή λειτουργίας τους. Στο τρίτο κεφάλαιο παρουσιάζεται λεπτομερώς η διαδικασία παραγωγής ενέργειας όταν προσπίπτει ηλιακή ακτινοβολία σε μια επαφή δυο διαφορετικά νοθευμένων ημιαγωγών (φωτοβολταϊκό φαινόμενο). Στη συνέχεια περιγράφονται τα ηλεκτρικά χαρακτηριστικά των φωτοβολταϊκών στοιχείων και οι σημαντικότεροι παράγοντες που τα επηρεάζουν. Ακόμα γίνεται αναφορά στα είδη των φωτοβολταϊκών στοιχείων που έχουν κατασκευαστεί καθώς και στα ημιαγωγικά υλικά που χρησιμοποιούνται για την παραγωγή τους. Το κεφάλαιο κλείνει με την περιγραφή του τρόπου σύνδεσης των ΦΒ στοιχείων και τις διατάξεις προστασίας που χρησιμοποιούνται ώστε να μειώνονται όσο το δυνατόν περισσότερο οι απώλειες όταν κάποιο από τα συνδεδεμένα ΦΒ στοιχεία είτε δεν λειτουργεί είτε είναι σκιασμένο. Στο τέταρτο κεφάλαιο αρχικά γίνεται μια αναφορά των ειδών των συνδεδεμένων στο δίκτυο φωτοβολταϊκών συστημάτων που υπάρχουν και εν συνεχεία παρουσιάζονται εκτενώς οι κατηγορίες των DC-AC μετατροπέων που χρησιμοποιούνται στα συνδεδεμένα στο δίκτυο συστήματα. Επίσης, περιγράφονται οι λειτουργίες που εκτελούν οι σύγχρονοι συνδεδεμένοι με το δίκτυο αντιστροφείς, η αρχή λειτουργίας τους, τα χαρακτηριστικά τους καθώς και οι ιδιότητες τους. Ακόμα περιγράφεται η συμπεριφορά του αντιστροφέα όταν συμβαίνει το φαινόμενο της υπερφόρτωσης. Στο τελευταίο τμήμα της ενότητας αυτής δίνεται ιδιαίτερη προσοχή στις παραμέτρους που πρέπει να ληφθούν υπόψη ώστε να επιλεγεί ο κατάλληλος αντιστροφέας για τη βέλτιστη λειτουργία του συστήματος. Στο πέμπτο κεφάλαιο γίνεται μελέτη του συνδεδεμένου στο δίκτυο συστήματος. Αναφέρονται τα κριτήρια επιλογής της ισχύος του συστήματος και ο τρόπος υπολογισμού της ενέργειας που παράγεται. Στη συνέχεια, καταγράφονται οι εξισώσεις υπολογισμού του αριθμού των πλαισίων, καθορισμού της συνδεσμολογίας της φωτοβολταϊκής συστοιχίας, υπολογισμού της ισχύος εξόδου, υπολογισμού της ελάχιστης απόστασης μεταξύ δυο γειτονικών σειρών ΦΒ πλαισίων και του εμβαδού που θα καταλαμβάνουν τα ΦΒ πλαίσια. Κατόπιν, περιγράφεται η διαδικασία επιλογής του ιδανικού αντιστροφέα ώστε να επιλεγούν οι απαραίτητοι ηλεκτρικοί αγωγοί με την κατάλληλη διατομή. Εν συνεχεία, αναφέρεται ο τρόπος υπολογισμού των ηλεκτρικών καταναλώσεων που ενδεχομένως θα υπάρχουν. Τέλος, περιγράφεται αναλυτικά ο τρόπος γείωσης του συστήματος καθώς και των παραμέτρων που πρέπει να ληφθούν υπόψη ώστε να είναι ασφαλής η σύνδεσή του στο δίκτυο. Στο έκτο κεφάλαιο μελετάται αναλυτικά η εγκατάσταση των συνδεδεμένων στο δίκτυο φωτοβολταϊκών συστημάτων σε κτιριακές εγκαταστάσεις. Περιγράφεται ο τρόπος επιλογής σωστού προσανατολισμού των φωτοβολταϊκών πλαισίων τα οποία είναι τοποθετημένα σε κτιριακή εγκατάσταση και γενικότερα οι παράγοντες που λαμβάνονται υπόψη για τη σχεδίαση και εγκατάσταση ενός κτιριακού φωτοβολταϊκού συστήματος. Ακολούθως, αναφέρεται η προστασία των ΦΒ από τυχόν υπερτάσεις καθώς και η αντικεραυνική προστασία τους. Ακόμα, εξηγείται αναλυτικά και παρουσιάζεται με σχήματα η σύνδεση των ΦΒ συστημάτων στο δίκτυο. Τέλος, παρουσιάζονται τα επιτρεπτά όρια και τα προβλήματα που προκύπτουν από την έγχυση αρμονικών συνιστωσών του ρεύματος και της τάσης στο δίκτυο χαμηλής τάσης. Στο έβδομο κεφάλαιο μελετάται η εγκατάσταση φωτοβολταϊκού συστήματος 2880 W που περατώθηκε στο εργαστήριο παραγωγής, μεταφοράς , διανομής και χρησιμοποιήσεως ηλεκτρικής ενέργειας του τμήματος Ηλεκτρολόγων Μηχανικών και Τεχνολογίας Υπολογιστών του Πανεπιστημίου Πατρών. Περιγράφονται τα φωτοβολταϊκά πλαίσια και οι αντιστροφείς που επιλέχθηκαν, η διαδικασία σύνδεσης των πλαισίων και τέλος υπολογίζονται οι διατομές των καλωδίων που χρησιμοποιήθηκαν. Στα παραρτήματα παρουσιάζονται τα ηλεκτρικά χαρακτηριστικά των πλαισίων και των αντιστροφέων από τις εταιρίες παραγωγής . / The purpose of the present thesis is the design of a grid connected photovoltaic system. Firstly, the solar radiation as well as the solar radiation particularly in Greece is reported and the mathematical tools to calculate the solar radiation on earth´s surface are provided too. Moreover, the photovoltaic effect is presented and the electrical features of solar cells are analyzed. Yet, an important part of the thesis is the description of the features and properties of the grid connected inventers. Furthermore, a detailed study of a grid connected photovoltaic system is reported (PV modules, inverters, grounding etc.) especially the PV system on a building installation. Finally, a reference to the PV system of a nominal power of 2880W which is installed in the power systems laboratory at the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at the University of Patras is made.

Μελέτη και εγκατάσταση φωτοβολταϊκού

Η παρούσα διπλωματική εργασία πραγματεύεται τη μελέτη και την εγκατάσταση ενός φωτοβολταϊκού συστήματος. Η εργασία αυτή εκπονήθηκε στο Εργαστήριο Παραγωγής, Μεταφοράς, Διανομής και Χρησιμοποίησης Ηλεκτρικής Ενέργειας του Τμήματος Ηλεκτρολόγων Μηχανικών και Τεχνολογίας Υπολογιστών της Πολυτεχνικής Σχολής του Πανεπιστημίου Πατρών. Σκοπός, πέρα από την εγκατάσταση του εξοπλισμού, είναι η μελέτη του συστήματος που δημιουργήθηκε ώστε να λειτουργεί με 3 διαφορετικούς τρόπους: α) Μονοφασικό συνδεδεμένο στο δίκτυο διανομής, β) Τριφασικό συνδεδεμένο στο δίκτυο διανομής και γ) Μονοφασικό αυτόνομο. Το σύστημα που δημιουργήσαμε αποτελείται από μία φωτοβολταϊκη συστοιχία με ονομαστική ισχύ 2880 W, τρείς αντιστροφείς συνδεδεμένου συστήματος και ένα αντιστροφέα αυτόνομου συστήματος. Ακόμη για τη σωστή εγκατάσταση χρησιμοποιήσαμε κατάλληλα προστατευτικά στοιχεία, βάσεις, καλώδια και συσσωρευτές. Στο πρώτο κεφάλαιο, γίνεται μια εισαγωγή για την ενέργεια και τη χρησιμοποίηση της από τον άνθρωπο και περιγράφεται η ηλεκτροπαραγωγή, οι ανανεώσιμες πηγές ενέργειας και τα βασικά στοιχεία του ηλεκτρικού συστήματος στην Ελλάδα για το 2009. Στο δεύτερο κεφάλαιο παρουσιάζονται τα χαρακτηριστικά μεγέθη της ηλιακής ακτινοβολίας, καθώς επίσης και ο τρόπος με τον οποίο καθορίζεται ο βέλτιστος τρόπος τοποθέτησης των φωτοβολταϊκών πλαισίων. Στο τρίτο κεφάλαιο, εξηγείται ο τρόπος λειτουργίας των φωτοβολταϊκών στοιχείων, αναλύονται τα ηλεκτρικά χαρακτηριστικά τους και αναφέρονται οι διάφορες τεχνολογίες των φωτοβολταϊκών στοιχείων που έχουν αναπτυχθεί μέχρι σήμερα. Στο τέταρτο κεφάλαιο, αναφερόμαστε στα είδη των μετατροπέων ισχύος και στο βαθμό απόδοσης τους. Στο πέμπτο κεφάλαιο, παρατίθενται οι γενικές αρχές δημιουργίας ενός φωτοβολταϊκού συστήματος και παρουσιάζονται τα είδη των Φωτοβολταϊκών συστημάτων. Στο έκτο κεφάλαιο, παρουσιάζεται η μελέτη, ο τρόπος λειτουργίας και ο εξοπλισμός του συστήματος που εγκαταστάθηκε στο Εργαστήριο. Στο έβδομο κεφάλαιο, παρουσιάζονται οι μετρήσεις που ελήφθησαν και τα σχετικά διαγράμματα, ο σχολιασμός τους όπως επίσης και ο τρόπος καταγραφής τους. Στο όγδοο κεφάλαιο, αναφερόμαστε στις δυσκολίες που παρουσιάστηκαν κατά την εκπόνηση της διπλωματικής εργασίας. / The present thesis is concerned with the design and installation of a photovoltaic system. The work was conducted at the Power systems Laboratory of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering School of Engineering, University of Patras. The objective of this thesis is the installation of the equipment and the study of the system, set up to work in three different ways: a) Single-phase grid connected, b) Three-phase grid connected and c) Single phase stand-alone. The photovoltaic system that was installed in the laboratory consists of a photovoltaic array with rated power 2880W, 3 inverters for a grid connected system and 1 inverter for a stand-alone system. In addition, cables, protective equipment, mounting bases and batteries were used. The first chapter is an introduction to energy and describes the power production, the renewable energy sources and the basic information of the electrical system of Greece in 2009. The second chapter presents the features of solar radiation, and the optimal method for the mounting of the modules. The third chapter explains the way that the operation of a photovoltaic cell, analyses the electric characteristics and reports the various technologies of the photovoltaics. The fourth chapter analyses the types of the power converters and their efficiency. The fifth chapter presents the general principles of creating a photovoltaic system, the way of their connection, and presents the types of Photovoltaic systems. The sixth chapter presents the way of operation and the equipment of the photovoltaic system that was installed in the Laboratory. The seventh chapter explains the details of the present study regarding the mode of operation and the equipment of the system that was installed in the Lab, showing the relevant measurements and charts. The eighth chapter is a reference to the difficulties encountered throughout the implementation of the project.

The discrete pulse transform and applications

Thesis (MSc (Mathematical Sciences))--University of Stellenbosch, 2007. / Data analysis frequently involves the extraction (i.e. recognition) of parts that are important at the expense of parts that are deemed unimportant. Many mathematical perspectives exist for performing these separations, however no single technique is a panacea as the de nition of signal and noise depends on the purpose of the analysis. For data that can be considered a sampling of a smooth function with added 'well-behaved' noise, linear techniques tend to work well. When large impulses or discontinuities are present, a non-linear approach becomes necessary. The LULU operators, composed using the simplest rank selectors, are non-linear operators that are comparable to the well-known median smoothers, but are computationally e cient and allow a conceptually simple description of behaviour. De ned using compositions of di erent order LULU operators, the discrete pulse transform (dpt) allows the interpretation of sequences in terms of pulses of di erent scales: thereby creating a multi-resolution analysis. These techniques are very di erent from those of standard linear analysis, which renders intuitions regarding their behaviour somewhat undependable. The LULU perspective and analysis tools are investigated with a strong emphasis on practical applications. The LULU smoothers are known to separate signal and noise ef- ciently: they are idempotent and co-idempotent. Sequences are smoothed by mapping them into smoothness classes; which is achieved by the removal, in a consistent manner, of block-pulses. Furthermore, these operators preserve local trend (i.e. they are fully trend preserving). Di erences in interpretation with respect to Fourier and Wavelet decompositions are also discussed. The dpt is de ned, its implications are investigated, and a linear time algorithm is discussed. The dpt is found to allow a multi-resolution measure of roughness. Practical sequence processing through the reconstruction of modi ed pulses is possible; in some cases still maintaining a consistent multi-resolution interpretation. Extensions to two-dimensions is discussed, and a technique for the estimation of standard deviation of a random distribution is presented. These tools have been found to be e ective in the analysis and processing of sequences and images. The LULU tools are an useful alternative to standard analysis methods. The operators are found to be robust in the presence of impulsive and more 'well-behaved' noise. They allow the fast design and deployment of specialized detection and processing algorithms, and are possibly very useful in creating automated data analysis solutions.

Devido à necessidade de se desenvolver um líquido isolante renovável em alternativa ao uso de óleo mineral em transformadores, a comunidade cientifica e empresas do segmento de energia buscam desenvolver óleos vegetais para essa aplicação. Sendo que, atualmente os óleos vegetais utilizados de forma comercial em transformadores possuem base vegetal que competem com a indústria alimentícia. Dessa forma o presente trabalho tem como objetivo verificar a possibilidade do óleo de tungue ser utilizado em transformadores de distribuição, face sua alta capacidade produtiva e o mesmo não competir com a alimentação humana. Para isso, foi utilizado como referência, as características físico-químicas da norma NBR 15422 – Óleo vegetal isolante para equipamentos elétricos, que é a norma responsável para uso também em transformadores. Visando reduzir a acidez do óleo de tungue para níveis normatizados, foi realizado processo de adsorção dos componentes polares através de Terra Fuller. O tratamento com Terra Fuller se mostrou ineficaz para o óleo de Tungue bruto, sendo assim, foi realizado um processo industrializado para refino do óleo para reduzir sua acidez. Para verificação das características do óleo de Tungue, foi construído um protótipo de transformador e realizado os ensaios dielétricos de rotina conforme norma NBR 5356, sendo que não foram detectadas falhas elétricas e ainda, foram obtidos níveis de resistência de isolamento próximos aos obtidos em transformadores que utilizam óleos isolantes mineral e vegetal comercializados para equipamentos elétricos. / Due to the need to develop a renewable insulating liquid alternative to mineral oil used in transformers, the scientific community and energy sector companies look for to develop vegetable oils for this application. Whereas, now the vegetable oils used in transformers in a commercial way have vegetable based competing with human food. Thus, the present work aims to verify the possibility of tung oil be used in distribution transformers, given its high production capacity and it does not compete with human food. For this, was used as a reference, the physicochemical characteristics of the NBR 15422 - vegetable insulating oil for electrical equipment, which is the standard responsible for use also in transformers. Aiming to reduce the acidity of tung oil at standardized levels was performed adsorption process of polar components through Fuller Earth. Treatment with Fuller Earth was ineffective for raw tung oil, therefore, an industrial process for oil refining was carried out to reduce its acidity. For verification of tung oil characteristics, a transformer prototype has been built and performed routine dielectric tests according to NBR 5356, with electrical faults were not detected and also were obtained resistance of isolation levels close to those obtained in transformers use vegetable and mineral insulating oils marketed for electrical equipments.

[pt] O novo cenário competitivo, inaugurado com a reformulação do Setor Elétrico Brasileiro, impõe a seus agentes, principalmente as concessionárias de energia elétrica, a necessidade de ferramentas que os possibilitem gerenciar melhor seus recursos. No caso específico dos ransformadores de potência, ativos cujo investimento inicial é muito elevado,a otimização do retorno financeiro envolve o balanço adequado entre as receitas advindas da energia por ele transportada e os custos decorrentes da depreciação real, principalmente os relacionados à perda de vida útil do transformador como resultado da exposição do isolamento sólido a níveis de temperatura prejudiciais. A presente dissertação propõe o emprego de um modelo para previsão de séries temporais, aplicado a séries de elevação de temperatura do enrolamento de transformador de potência, combinando modelos lineares e Redes Neurais Artificiais. São revistos e analisados os principais métodos lineares de previsão baseados em variáveis explicativas, sendo estes, juntamente com o modelo proposto,aplicados à previsão da elevação de temperatura de transformadores reais. Os resultados obtidos comprovam o efeito sinérgico conseguido com a combinação de modelos lineares com Redes Neurais. / [en] The new competitive scenario, that came up as result of the restructuring of the Brazilian Electric Energy Sector, imposes to its agents the need of tools suitable for better resource management. On the specific case of power transformers, which represent one of the most important investment items, the optimal payback involves a suitable balance between revenues related to the energy transported and the actual depreciation costs, mainly those related to the loss of the transformer s useful life, due the degradation of solid insulation by temperature. The present dissertation proposes a time series model, applied to power transformer winding temperature rise forecasting, which combines linear models and artificial neural networks. The main linear forecast methods based on explanatory variables are revised and analyzed, and, together with the proposed model, applied to temperature forecast on real transformers. The results confirm the synergic effect obtained when using linear models with artificial neural networks.

Foram utilizados os ensaios de rotina de uma empresa recuperadora para uma importante concessionária de distribuição de energia. Este trabalho também faz uma recomendação sobre o descarte deste material segundo conceitos ambientais para uma melhor utilização dos recursos naturais. É importante mencionar o fato que muitos dos transformadores analisados operam a mais de 20 anos. A recuperação permite as concessionárias fornecer energia elétrica para consumidores residenciais e rurais de baixa renda mediante um pequeno investimento na construção de novas linhas de distribuição / Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to analyze the behavior of three-phase distribution transformers when submitted to recovery, taking into consideration fixed and variable electric losses considering the transformer as a consumer unit to demonstrate the economical feasibility, especially those that do not modify the core. This paper also deals with the disposal of the material considering environmental concerns, for a better use of natural resources. No novo contexto do setor elétrico brasileiro, as concessionárias passam a ter uma nova postura quanto à gestão. A energia elétrica, como produto, como negócio, deve levar lucro às empresas concessionárias. Começam a dar mais importância aos custos, entendendo que vários aspectos técnicos devem ser analisados, visando reduzir perdas substanciais. Assim sendo, o transformador de potência assume uma posição destacada, considerando sua posição estratégica no sistema elétrico, fundamental no processo de transporte e entrega de energia elétrica. Por este motivo vem despertando o interesse no desenvolvimento de estudos e pesquisas no sentido de aumentar sua vida útil. O método de Análise da Resposta em Frequência da impedância do transformador permite obter a “assinatura” do mesmo, a fim de verificar futuras degradações. Este método é adotado por várias empresas em todo o mundo, há mais de três décadas. Embora sua ampla aplicação entre muitas técnicas utilizadas na monitoração e análise de falhas em equipamentos, até agora não houve consenso na interpretação dos resultados obtidos por este método. A dificuldade de correlacionar parâmetros com prováveis falhas tem suscitado pesquisas para obtenção de resultados confiáveis e de interpretação fácil. Este trabalho objetiva determinar um modelo elétrico que represente a característica da resposta em frequência para fins de armazenamento de dados e simulações. A partir de dados reais do teste de resposta em frequência da impedância inseridos no modelo proposto, através de um programa computacional, foi verificada a confiabilidade nas respostas obtidas, comparadas com as reais. Os resultados obtidos asseguram que o modelo proposto é viável de ser aplicado. / In the new context of the Brazilian electric industry, the electric power provider companies have adopted a new administration posture. The electric power, as a product and business, should make the companies profitable. They have been paying more attention to the costs, .learning that many technical aspects should be analyzed in order to reduce substantial losses. Therefore, the power transformer takes an outstanding position, considering its strategic position in the electric system and being essential in the process of transport and delivery of the electric power. For this reason, there has been an interest in the development of studies and research in order to increase its useful life. The method of Frequency Response Analysis of impedance of the power transformer permits to obtain reference parameters of this one, in order to verify future degradations. This method has been adopted by many companies throughout the world for over three decades. Despite its wide application among several techniques used in the supervision and analysis of faults of equipments, there has been no consensus in the interpretation of the results obtained by this method so far. The difficulty of correlating the parameters with probable faults have increased research in order to obtain reliable results and of easy interpretation. This study aims to determine an electric model that represents the characteristic of the frequency response in order to store data and simulations. Starting from the real data of the FRA test inserted in the proposed model through a computer program, the reliability of the obtained responses were verified and compared with the real data. The obtained results assure that the proposed model is viable and can be applied.
