Nyckelt till hållbarhet : En fallstudie i den praktiska användningen samt nyttan med hållbarhetsnyckeltal

Syfte: Syftet i denna studie uppkom ur vårt intresse för nyckeltalsanvändning inom ett relativt nytt område som hållbarhet. Vi läste på om hållbarhetsnyckeltal och ur denna tidigare forskning inom ämnet så blev vårt syfte att skapa en ökad förståelse kring den praktiska användningen samt nyttan med hållbarhetsnyckeltal, med avseende på TBL-modellen. Metod: Studien bygger på en kvalitativ forsningsmetod inom vilken personliga intervjuer har utförts på fem fallföretag. Intervjuerna spelades in och sedan jämfördes samt analyserades resultatet av dessa med det teoretiska ramverket inom studien.           Resultat & slutsats: Studien har visat på vilken praktisk användning samt nytta hållbarhetsnyckeltal har eller skulle kunna ha för företag eller organisationer. Studien har därutöver också visat på att företag och organisationer aktivt talar om hållbarhet samt att hållbarhetsfrågor är integrerade i den dagliga verksamheten.

Maîtrise de la dynamique de la ligne triple pendant le séchage, vers des matériaux structurés à effet lotus / Elaboration of multi structural surfaces materials by control of drying mecanism

Le séchage d’une solution chargée en particules est la solution la plus simple pour couvrir uniformément la surface d’un matériau. Le choix de la solution et ses propriétés physico-chimiques dictent alors le comportement du film obtenu. Le matériau peut ainsi être rendu hydrophobe en appliquant un tapis de molécules qui n’ont aucune affinité avec l’eau. Un moyen d’améliorer encore cette hydrophobie est de modeler la surface pour incorporer une certaine rugosité dans le revêtement. Cette stratégie est adoptée par plusieurs végétaux, dont le plus célèbre est le lotus.L’évaporation de suspensions apparait comme la méthode la plus simple pour parvenir à la structuration de la surface des matériaux. L’exemple le plus éloquent est celui de la goutte de café, où les particules viennent préférentiellement s’agglomérer sur son périmètre, portées par les différents flux résultant du mécanisme de séchage. Cependant, ce procédé d’auto-assemblage des particules sur la ligne triple air-liquide-substrat au cours du séchage, est difficile à appréhender. Ce constat est lié à la synergie entre la rhéologie des suspensions, leur physico-chimie et les aspects de tension inter faciale, qui s’opère au cours du procédé d’évaporation.Le travail proposé ici vise à comprendre et à maitriser le déplacement de la ligne triple pour accroitre le potentiel de cette méthode d’élaboration de revêtements. Nous proposons une méthode qui permet d’agir sur cette ligne triple. A la sortie de notre dispositif, le liquide est soumis à une évaporation libre, si bien que la ligne de contact adopte un mouvement périodique, apparenté à une respiration. Ce phénomène, peut être contrôlé en amplitude et en fréquence. Par la combinaison de paramètres mécaniques propres au procédé et d’autres intrinsèque au fluide, l’expérimentateur est capable de gouverner ce mouvement, ainsi que le profil du ménisque formé.La connaissance des moyens d’actions sur la respiration de la ligne triple est ensuite utilisée pour produire des surfaces périodiques. Ces dernières sont issues du séchage de latex de polymère. Le comportement cyclique de la ligne triple, combiné avec un déplacement contrôlé du substrat, permet de créer des zones préférentielles de dépôt. Les surfaces obtenues présentent un réseau de lignes successives, dont la longueur d’onde se rapporte aux paramètres du procédé. / Solvent evaporation appears as an easy way to deposit a periodic film on any surface. Its resulting structure is directly linked to the particles contained on the suspension and its behaviour with its solid and liquid environment during drying step. The coffee ring effect is the most eloquent example, which is characterized by a preferential agglomeration of the particle in the drop periphery. Such process is difficult to assess: handling the air-liquid-substrate interface movement is a basic need to increase the technical power of that coating method.To investigate the contact line motion during drying, we focus on the meniscus, which comes from a liquid flow between a sealed container and a substrate. Observations of liquid flowing out such disposal show a cyclic movement. Such phenomenon can be compared to a breathing of the contact line. The present work is firstly dedicated to the characterization of that periodic movement. These learnings are then applied to polymer latexes to produce periodic films.Our characterization method is based on meniscus observation and force balance recording. The observed breathing can be tuned in frequency and amplitude, by acting both on physical properties of the solvents, and geometrical settings of the device. Surface tension play a key role in the movement, by acting on the meniscus shape. Geometrical settings appears to affect the evaporation process. On a global scale, the rate is constant but the disposal gap is directly linked to the cycle frequency.Eventually, our disposal is used to coat smooth surface with polymer latexes. The self-organization of particles during the drying process is tried to be controlled by the periodic motion of the contact line. The roughness of the obtained textured coating is expected to be tuned by a combined choice of disposal settings and specific solutions properties.

Hållbarhet inom industriföretag : En kvalitativ studie om industriföretags strategiska hållbarhetsarbete / Sustainability within industrial companies : A qualitative study about industrial companies’ strategic sustainable action

The Earth is facing many complex challenges. Social gaps between poverty and wealth are continuously growing, climate changes threaten the planet as well as its living creatures and the irresponsible human consumption goes on. Sachs (2015) mentions these issues as contribution to today’s existing unsustainable world and further argues that companies should take more responsibilities in the transformation process into a more sustainable world, where Herremans and Nazari (2016) identify industrial companies as the ones that should be the most responsible for sustainable actions. Furthermore, Lueg and Radlach (2016) argue that the usage of control mechanisms is a critical component of strategic sustainability actions. However, previous research has focused less on explaining how companies strategically work with sustainability, why this study aims at developing a deeper understanding of how industrial companies strategically take sustainable actions. Through ten qualitative semi-structured interviews within six industrial companies the study aims to achieve its purpose, with help of Elkington’s (1999) concept Triple Bottom Line (containing the dimensions profit, planet and people) and Malmi and Brown’s (2008) theoretical model of control mechanisms. The study shows that the strategic sustainable actions taken by industrial companies tend to differ depending on how long they have actively been working with sustainability. Initially the companies base their strategic sustainable actions on economic benefits and external pressure such as legislation and governmental verdicts, while companies who have been working longer with sustainable actions tend to voluntarily base their work on long-term visions of economic returns on sustainable investments. Further, the study shows that the control mechanisms culture and administrative functions tend to generate the most impact on sustainable actions. While the administrative functions expect to be more effective when implementing great changes in processes or routines, the culture tends to, due to its low abilities to change, be more helpful in the maintenance of sustainable behavior and values. / Planeten står inför många komplicerade utmaningar. Samhällsklyftan mellan rika och fattiga ökar, klimatförändringar hotar planetens och dess varelsers överlevnad och den mänskliga konsumtionen fortsätter att flöda. Sachs (2015) beskriver samtliga problem som bidrag till den ohållbara värld som idag existerar och menar vidare att företag kan spela en viktig roll i arbetet för en mer hållbar värld. Det torde enligt Herremans och Nazari (2016) vara industriföretag som i störst omfattning genom sin massproduktion bidrar till kritiska hållbarhetsproblem såsom global uppvärmning och människans överkonsumtion. Lueg och Radlach (2016) menar vidare att användning av styrfunktioner inom företag är en kritisk komponent i arbetet för en mer hållbar näringsverksamhet. Dock finns en avsaknad av tidigare studier som förklarar hur företag arbetar strategiskt med hållbarhetsfrågor. Genom den teoretiska ramen bestående av Elkingtons (1999) koncept Triple Bottom Line och Malmi och Browns (2008) modell för styrfunktioner samt empirisk insamling i form av tio kvalitativa semistrukturerade intervjuer, syftar studien till att skapa en förståelse för hur industriföretag arbetar strategiskt med hållbarhet. Studien visar att det strategiska hållbarhetsarbetet tenderar att skilja sig åt beroende på hur länge respondentföretagen arbetat aktivt med hållbarhetsaspekter. Initialt styrs företagens strategiska hållbarhetsarbete främst av ekonomiska fördelar samt extern påtryckning såsom lagstiftning och myndighetsbeslut, medan företag som arbetat längre tid med hållbarhet tenderar att frivilligt basera sitt hållbarhetsarbete mer på en framtidstro med visioner om långsiktig ekonomisk avkastning på hållbarhetsinvesteringar. Vidare visar studien att styrfunktionerna kultur respektive administrativa funktioner i olika syften tenderar att generera störst inverkan på hållbarhetsarbetet, varvid administrativa funktioner antas mer effektiva vid implementering av större förändringar i processer och rutiner. Kulturen antas å andra sidan, på grund av dess trögrörlighet, vara mer behjälplig i bevarandet av hållbara beteenden och värderingar.

[pt] A atividade hoteleira, a exemplo de qualquer atividade empresarial, resguarda uma relação direta com os aspectos de desenvolvimento ambiental, social e econômico. Trata-se de um segmento com elevado potencial para contribuir positivamente com a comunidade local na qual está inserido a partir da consideração dos diferentes stakeholders na política de sustentabilidade das empresas. Logo, a atuação de um hotel de forma consciente e sustentável, a partir de preocupações sociais e da correta utilização dos recursos naturais disponíveis, contribuirá para o bem-estar das próximas gerações. Sendo assim, o estudo discorre sobre o conceito de sustentabilidade, sua respectiva inserção na estratégia de empresas e a adoção de ações relacionadas ao conceito de Triple Bottom Line. O presente trabalho pauta-se em dois estudos de caso de hotéis brasileiros que possuem algum tipo de certificação de sustentabilidade e visa compreender quais são os fatores motivadores para a adoção de ações sustentáveis por parte desses hotéis e os respectivos fatores facilitadores e barreiras para adoção de tais práticas. Foram utilizados como referência teórica estudos de hotéis, tanto no Brasil como no exterior. Os resultados da pesquisa realizada com os dois hotéis, comparativamente com outros estudos publicados, apresentam relatos variados para a adoção pela empresa de práticas de sustentabilidade. As motivações variam desde alinhamento aos valores e vocação do hotel até aspectos financeiros para ampliação de ganhos. As práticas ambientais adotadas apresentaram semelhança entre os casos analisados e estudos publicados, considerando o caráter de padronização existente em processos de certificação. / [en] The hospitality industry, like any other business segment, is directly related to the environmental, social and economic development aspects. This segment has a high potential to contribute positively with the local community in which it is inserted when the different stakeholders are considered in the sustainability companies policy. Therefore, the performance of a hotel in a conscious and sustainable way, based on social concerns and the correct use of the available natural resources, will contribute to the well-being of the next generations. Thus, this study discusses the sustainability concept, its respective insertion in the companies strategy and the adoption of practices related to the concept of the Triple Bottom Line. The present study is based on two case studies of Brazilian hotels with sustainability certifications and aims to understand the motivating factors for the adoption of sustainable practices by hotels and the respective facilitating factors and barriers for the adoption of such practices. We used as theoretical reference studies of hotels, both in Brazil and abroad. When compared to other published studies, the results of the research carried out with the two hotels present different narratives that justify the company s adoption of sustainability practices. The motivations range from alignment to hotel values and vocation to financial aspects to increase earnings. The adopted environmental practices presented similarity between the analyzed cases and published studies, considering the character of standardization existing in certification processes.

A percepção da academia e profissionais sobre a relação entre a formação e as práticas de gestão do Desenvolvimento Sustentável no Brasil / Professionals vs Academy: the perception about the relationship between education for sustainable development in bachelor degree in business management courses and the sustainable development management practices in Brazilian organizations

O objetivo deste trabalho é elucidar a relação da percepção dos docentes e profissionais sobre as competências para o Desenvolvimento Sustentável Corporativo (DSC), comparando o que é ensinado nos cursos de administração ao que é necessário na prática, em relação às competências para o Desenvolvimento Sustentável (DS), em organizações no Brasil. Levando em consideração o conceito de DSC e o Triple Bottom Line (TBL), existem competências específicas para a gestão deste DS: competências organizacionais (ligadas ao DSC, por meio de estratégias para alcançar o conceito de TBL de DS); competências distintivas (que abrangem as competências em cada uma das dimensões do TBL) e competências foco (que abordam as dimensões em conjunto) e ainda ter a formação em competências individuais (abrangidas normalmente nos cursos de administração de forma geral), para conseguir conjuntamente com as competências desenvolvidas pela organização melhor gerir os objetivos do DS. Para tanto é necessário a Educação para o Desenvolvimento Sustentável (EDS) inserida em conteúdos dos cursos de administração, e que tem como objetivo o enfoque em se construir uma sociedade que se desenvolva de maneira sustentável, preparando profissionais que conheçam gestão para atuarem em organizações de diferentes maneiras em busca do desenvolvimento sem prejudicar o ambiente para que ele se mantenha para gerações futuras. Assim, para se alcançar o objetivo proposto, esta pesquisa foi efetuada uma pesquisa de levantamento por amostragem (amostra por conveniência) com profissionais do DS nas organizações brasileiras; e com coordenadores de curso e docentes, ainda houve a pesquisa documental por meio de uma análise de conteúdo dos Projetos Pedagógicos de Curso (PPC), planos de ensino, grades curriculares e ementas de cursos de administração com notas quatro e cinco no Exame Nacional de Desempenho dos Estudantes (ENADE) e/ou signatários do Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME); a terceira etapa se constituiu da comparação dos dados obtidos nestas duas etapas anteriores e finalmente a etapa quatro que relacionou todas as etapas para responder o objetivo geral do trabalho. Dentre os principais resultados obtidos têm-se que há concordância entre os docentes e profissionais no que tange ao conceito de DS, ambos percebem o TBL como principal; no entanto quando comparados com os conteúdos encontrados nos documentos analisados a maioria destes não possuem a abordagem TBL, mas tendem a ter mais assuntos relacionados à dimensão ambiental, que acaba por coincidir com a maior área de atuação dos profissionais que responderam a esta pesquisa; sobre a abordagem dada ao DS, todos concordam que o mesmo deve estar diretamente ligado às estratégias das organizações. Apesar destas concordâncias, o que ocorre nas organizações ainda está distante da visão dos acadêmicos. O outro resultado importante deste trabalho é que os profissionais e acadêmicos concordam que o administrador precisa saber trabalhar de forma interdisciplinar, unindo questões financeiras, ambientais e sociais; ter pensamento sistêmico; conhecer o modelo do TBL e ter resiliência, dentre as competências do profissional. Já em relação às competências distintivas, ambos concordam que as mais importantes estão relacionadas à dimensão social; e sobre as competências foco, ambos concordam que as mais importantes estão relacionadas a abordar o TBL de forma completa e sempre voltado ao benefício de todos os stakeholders. Baseando-se nestes resultados foram propostos modelos de melhoria do EDS para os cursos de administração. / The objective of this research is to elucidate the relationship between academia´s and professionals\' perceptions of the competencies for Corporate Sustainable Development (CSD), comparing what is taught in management courses to what is needed in practice in Brazilian organizations. Regarding the concept of CSD and the Triple Bottom Line (TBL), there are specific competences for the Sustainable Development (SD) management: organizational competences (linked to the CSD, through strategies to achieve the SD concept of TBL); distinctive competences (covering competences in each of the TBL dimensions) and focus competences (which address the dimensions together) and still have the individual competences (usually discussed in management courses) to better manage the CSD together with the competences developed by the organizations. Hence it is necessary the Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) inserted in the contents of the management courses, and that aims to focus on building a society that develops in a sustainable way, preparing professionals who know management to work in organizations in different ways in order to develop without harming the environment so that it remains for future generations. Thus, to achieve the proposed objective, this research was developed in four stages: the first with the professionals who work with the SD in organizations, through a sampling survey (convenience sampling). The second with the academy, including the course coordinators and faculty in a survey research and a documentary research through a content analysis of the pedagogical documentation from management courses with grades four and five in the National Student Performance Examination (ENADE) and/or signatories of Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME). The third stage was the comparison of the data obtained in these two previous steps. The fourth step aimed to answer the core objective of the research. Among the main results, there is an agreement between the faculty and professionals concerning the concept of SD, both perceived the TBL as most important concept. However, when compared to the contents found in the documents analyzed most of these do not have the TBL approach, but the environmental dimension, which corresponded to the area of activity of the most professionals who answered this research. On the approach given to the SD, everyone agrees that the same should be directly linked to the strategies of the organizations. Despite these consensus, what happens in organizations is still far from the vision of the faculty. The other important result is that the professionals and faculty agree that the manager needs to know how to work interdisciplinary, uniting financial, environmental and social issues; to think in a systemic way; to understand the TBL and to be resilient, among the professional competences. About the distinctive competences, both agree that the most important ones are related to the social dimension. And on the focus competences both agree that the most important ones are related to addressing the TBL in a complete means and always focused to the benefit of all stakeholders. Based on these results, it was proposed models to improve the ESD for the management courses.

El objetivo de este estudio es discutir cómo se (re)construyen las identidades de los alumnos transfronterizos de la institución de enseñanza y hacer un análisis sobre la influencia que el ambiente sociolingüísticamente complejo (otros alumnos, profesores, equipo pedagógico) tiene en las (re)construcciones de esas identidades. Este trabajo se justifica con distintos propósitos: buscar contribuir para el crecimiento de la visibilidad de la comunidad, de la escuela y de los alumnos transfronterizos, conducido por el debate sobre procesos identitários; por la oportunidad de dar oídos, de mostrar y llamar la atención de las autoridades y de las instituciones presentes para las cuestiones abordadas por medio de la presentación de este compilado de informaciones sobre determinado local; para apoyar la diversidad cultural en las escuelas de fronteras; porque, en cuanto investigadora y estudiante de la maestría en Sociedad, Cultura y Fronteras, representando la Universidade Estadual do Oeste do Paraná, puedo demonstrar apoyo a la institución educacional, reflexionando junto co las personas las cuales componen ese local y realizando un eslabón entre una institución que fomenta la enseñanza básica y otra que fomenta la enseñanza superior. El abordaje teóricometodológico utilizado con la intención de generación y análisis de datos está situado en el área de la Lingüística Aplicada, con fundamentación en la metodología de investigación cualitativa de base interpretativa aliada a la investigación etnográfica. Además de eses abordajes los estudios sobre identidades, representación e interculturalidad también hicieron parte del abordaje teórico-metodológico. Los datos generados fueran obtenidos por medio de observación participante, diario de campo, análisis documental, aplicación de cuestionario y entrevistas – individuales y en conjunto. Para lograr alcanzar los objetivos señalados se buscó contestar a las siguientes preguntas de investigación: Cómo los alumnos transfronterizos construyen sus identidades en el contexto escolar de frontera? Cuáles representaciones la comunidad del medio escolar construye sobre los alumnos transfronterizos? Sobre la primera pregunta, conforme los análisis hechos, fue posible comprender que no hay identidades esencializadas, pero complejas. Las identidades y representaciones demuestran ‘entre-lugares’ y ‘hibridación identitária’ (SILVA, 2000) la cual refleja en el discurso de los alumnos, conforme es posible percibir en las menciones analizadas. Eso es el resultado del movimiento transfronterizo, del contacto con distintas personas y países, del cruce de las fronteras. Ya en relación a la segunda pregunta, por medio de los análisis, fue posible comprender que funcionarios, profesores y moradores (del entorno) de la escuela demuestran diferentes representaciones sobre los alumnos transfronterizos. A través de los análisis hechos se evidenció que tanto en la escuela cuanto en la comunidad existe una política local basada en la aceptación del otro. La escuela intenta cumplir con la responsabilidad de desarrollar procesos de conocimiento a través del currículo oficial, garantizando que el cuerpo discente aprenda no apenas contenidos, pero temáticas relativas a la vida en sentido amplio: para la convivencia social, el mercado de trabajo, la continuidad en los estudios pos-enseñanza media, así sucesivamente. Mismo con dificultades escuela y comunidad buscan por sí mismas caminos para driblar los obstáculos y los problemas sociales presentes en el contexto. / This research was made in a school located in the north zone of the city of Foz do Iguaçu (Paraná), specifically at the Colégio Estadual Ipê Roxo located in the Cidade Nova 1 neighborhood. This study aims to discuss how to (re)construct the cross-border students identities od the institution of education and analyze the influence that the complex sociolinguistically environment (other student,teacher, pedagogical team) has in the (re)constructions of this identities. This work is justified with different purposes: seek to contribute and increasing the community visibility, the school and cross-border students, guided by the debate on identity processes; for the opportunityto listen, to show and draw attention of the autorities and institutions present to the issues through the representation of this compilation of information on a certain local; to support cultural diversity in border schools; because, as a master´s student of the postgraduate program Culture, Society and Borders, representing the Paraná west state university, can support the educational institucion reflecting along with the people who integrate this place and making a link between an institution in wich encourages elementary and middle school. And another that encourages higher education. Theoretical-methodological approach used to generate and analyze data is situated in the area of applied linguistics, with reasoning in the methodology of qualitative research with an allied interpretative base to ethnographic research. In addition to these approaches the studies on identities, representation and interculturality were also part of the theoretical methodological approach. The generated data were obtained through participant observation, field journal, documentary analysis, applicationn of questionnaires and interviews-individual and group. To achieve the stated objectives sought to answer the following research questions: How cross-border students construct their identities in the border school context? And which representations the community in the school environment builds on cross-border students? On the first question, according to the analyzes made, it was possible to understand that there are no essentialised identities, but rather complex ones. The identities and representarions prove ῾between places’ and ῾identity hibridization’ (SILVA 2000) which is reflected in the student´s discourse, as it is possible to perceive in the excerpts analyzed. This is a result of cross-border movement, the contact with different people and countries crossing borders. In relation to the second question, through analyzes, it was possible to understand that employess, teachers and residents(surroundings) of the school demonstrate different representations about the cross-border students. Through analyzes it was evident that both in the school and in the community there is a local policy baased on the other´s acceptance. The school seeks to fulfill the responsibility to develop knowledge processes through the offical curriculum, ensuring that the student body learn not just content, but themes related to life in a broad sense: for social life, job market, continuities in postsecondary studies, and so on. Even with difficulties, school and community are looking for ways to divert obstacles and the social problems present in the context. / Esta pesquisa foi realizada em uma escola localizada na zona norte da cidade de Foz do Iguaçu (Paraná), mais especificamente no Colégio Estadual Ipê Roxo situado no bairro Cidade Nova I. Este estudo objetiva discutir como se (re)constroem as identidades dos alunos transfronteiriços da instituição de ensino citada e analisar qual a influência que o ambiente sociolinguisticamente complexo (outros alunos, professores, equipe pedagógica) tem nas (re)construções dessas identidades. Este trabalho justifica-se com diferentes propósitos: buscar contribuir para o aumento da visibilidade da comunidade, da escola e dos alunos transfronteiriços, norteado pelo debate sobre processos identitários; pela oportunidade de dar ouvidos, de mostrar e chamar atenção das autoridades e das instituições presentes para as questões levantadas por meio da apresentação deste compilado de informações sobre determinado local; para apoiar a diversidade cultural nas escolas de fronteiras; porque, enquanto mestranda do Programa de Pós-graduação Sociedade, Cultura e Fronteiras, representando a Universidade Estadual do Oeste do Paraná, posso demonstrar apoio à instituição educacional, refletindo junto com as pessoas que compõem esse local e realizando um elo entre uma instituição que fomenta o ensino fundamental e médio e outra que fomenta o ensino superior. A abordagem teórico-metodológica utilizada na intenção de gerar e analisar dados está situada na área da Linguística Aplicada, com fundamentação na metodologia de pesquisa qualitativa de base interpretativista aliada à pesquisa etnográfica. Ademais dessas abordagens os estudos sobre identidades, representação e interculturalidade também fizeram parte da abordagem teórico-metodológica. Os dados gerados foram obtidos por meio de observação participante, diário de campo, análise documental, aplicação de questionário e entrevistas – individuais e em grupo. Para lograr alcançar os objetivos apontados buscou-se responder às seguintes perguntas de pesquisa: como os alunos transfronteiriços constroem suas identidades no contexto escolar de fronteira? E quais representações a comunidade do entorno escolar constrói sobre os alunos transfronteiriços? Sobre a primeira pergunta, conforme as análises feitas, foi possível compreender que não há identidades essencializadas, mas sim complexas. As identidades e representações demonstram ‘entre-lugares’ e ‘hibridação identitária’ (SILVA, 2000) a qual se reflete no discurso dos alunos, conforme é possível perceber nos excertos analisados. Isso é resultado do movimento transfronteiriço, do contato com diferentes pessoas e países, do cruzamento das fronteiras. Já em relação à segunda pergunta, por meio das análises, foi possível compreender que funcionários, professores e moradores (do entorno) da escola demonstram diferentes representações sobre os alunos transfronteiriços. Por meio das análises feitas evidenciou-se que tanto na escola quanto na comunidade existe uma política local baseada na aceitação do outro. A escola busca cumprir com a responsabilidade de desenvolver processos de conhecimento através do currículo oficial, garantindo que o corpo discente aprenda não apenas conteúdos, mas temáticas relativas à vida em sentido amplo: para o convívio social, o mercado de trabalho, a continuidade nos estudos pós-ensino médio, e assim por diante. Mesmo com dificuldades escola e comunidade buscam por si caminhos para driblar os obstáculos e os problemas sociais presentes no contexto.

The research fits into the business environment in which sustainability is increasingly present in the strategic agenda of corporate executives due to greater stakeholder engagement regarding socially responsible organizations attitude as a theme. In this intent, we posed the following research question: how is the adoption of sustainability based on the triple bottom line model influencing the practices of the Controller s Department of the company? Thus, for conducting this research, it has been assumed that the economic view is the prevailing one in the functions of the Controller s Department and managers are still unclear about the contribution of the management in the social and environmental aspects. Therefore, to achieve the research objectives, we proceeded with analysis of the literature on the topic of sustainability and Controllership. The typology of this research is exploratory with qualitative approach because it aimed to investigate how sustainability is influencing the Controller s Department and the contribution of managers by adopting the theme. The method used was case study. The sample was selected by the criterion of accessibility and processing of data was done through content analysis. The research findings indicate that sustainability issue still needs further understanding of the managers of Controller s Department in their conceptual, procedural and organizational aspects; which is the economic view that prevails in the functions and activities of managers. / Objetivo principal do presente estudo é investigar a percepção e contribuição dos gestores de Controladoria quanto ao tema sustentabilidade em uma empresa de varejo do setor de moda e eletroeletrônicos. A pesquisa se insere no ambiente de negócios onde a sustentabilidade é um tema cada vez mais presente na agenda estratégica dos executivos de empresas devido ao maior engajamento de stakeholders quanto às atitudes socialmente responsáveis das organizações. Dessa forma, propõe-se a seguinte questão de pesquisa: como a adoção da sustentabilidade baseada no modelo triple bottom line está influenciando as práticas da Controladoria da empresa? Assim, para condução desta pesquisa, partiu-se do pressuposto que a visão econômica é a que prevalece nas funções dos gestores de Controladoria e ainda não está clara a contribuição destes gestores nos aspectos social e ambiental. Para atingir os objetivos de pesquisa, procedeu-se com análise da literatura sobre o tema sustentabilidade e Controladoria. Enquanto tipologia, esta pesquisa se enquadra em seus os objetivos como exploratória de abordagem qualitativa, pois teve como principal objetivo investigar como a sustentabilidade está influenciando as práticas de Controladoria e a contribuição dos gestores para a adoção do tema. O método utilizado foi estudo de caso. A amostra foi selecionada pelo critério de acessibilidade e o tratamento de dados foi feito por meio de análise de conteúdo. Os achados da pesquisa indicam que o tema sustentabilidade ainda carece de maior compreensão dos gestores de Controladoria em seus aspectos conceituais, procedimentais e organizacionais, pois é a visão econômica que prevalece nas funções e atividades dos gestores.

Práticas de gestão estratégica e aderência ao método SIGMA: um estudo de caso no setor de celulose e papel / Strategic management and the SIGMA guidelines: a case study in the pulp and paper industry

Esta dissertação tem o propósito de buscar um maior entendimento dos conceitos acerca do desenvolvimento sustentável aplicado à gestão empresarial. Trata-se de um tema bastante contemporâneo, emergente e que vem sendo discutido por diferentes grupos, tais como acadêmicos, jornalistas, biólogos, artistas, sociólogos, gestores, entre outros. Elaborou-se uma revisão bibliográfica sobre o tema cuja literatura é vasta e multidisciplinar; a sustentabilidade aplicada à gestão empresarial ainda é um conceito em construção. O Método SIGMA foi apresentado como referencial teórico de um método de gestão estratégica socioambiental. A revisão da literatura orientou a realização de uma pesquisa qualitativa com os objetivos de (i) explorar as práticas de gestão estratégica de uma empresa brasileira do setor de papel e celulose e observar se tais práticas incorporam as dimensões sociais e ambientais às econômico-financeiras (triple bottom line) e (ii) observar se existe aderência das práticas observadas na empresa àquelas propostas pelo método conceitual SIGMA. Como conclusão, observou-se que existe aderência (mais no conteúdo que na forma) das práticas de gestão da empresa X às propostas pelo Método SIGMA; porém, a presença das dimensões sociais e ambientais nas práticas de gestão estratégica parece ser mais tímida que a dimensão econômico-financeira. / A deeper understanding of the concept of sustainable development applied to strategic corporate management is the main purpose of this master thesis. Such theme is being discussed within many different groups such as academics, journalists, artists, corporate managers among others. A bibliography review on the subject was performed; sustainability applied to strategic corporate management is still a concept being built. The SIGMA Guidelines were introduced as the conceptual framework for managing strategic corporate sustainability. A qualitative research was conducted based on the bibliography review aiming at (i) exploring the strategic management framework of a Brazilian company in the pulp and paper industry and understanding if such framework considers social and environmental dimensions in addition to the financial/economic dimension (triple bottom line) and (ii) understanding if the company’s management framework keeps association to the conceptual framework proposed by the SIGMA Guidelines. As a conclusion, there is a certain degree of association between the management framework within the company and the one proposed by the SIGMA Guidelines; however, the social and environmental dimensions seem to be less present in the company´s strategic management framework (in strategic terms) than the financial/economic dimension.

Role of ALADIN for Oxidative Stress Response and Microsomal Steroidogenesis in Human Adrenocortical Cells

Autosomal recessive triple A syndrome is caused by mutations in the AAAS gene encoding the protein ALADIN. The disorder manifests with the triad of adrenocorticotropin-resistant adrenal insufficiency, achalasia of the stomach cardia and impaired tear production (alacrima) in combination with progressive neurological impairment of the central, peripheral and autonomic nervous systems. ALADIN is part of the nuclear pore complex acting as a scaffold nucleoporin. In this work the role of ALADIN in the human adrenocortical tumour cell line NCI-H295R1 was investigated. These cells were engineered to either over-express or down-regulate AAAS by inducible stable transfection. Alterations in steroidogenic gene expression and functional consequences were determined. In addition, the role of ALADIN on cell viability and oxidative stress response was analysed. Using both the human adrenal NCI-H295R1-TR AAAS knock-down and over-expression models the potential impairment of the nuclear import of aprataxin, DNA ligase 1 and ferritin heavy chain 1 was investigated. For this YFP-specific vectors transiently transfected into the cell lines were employed. The findings indicate that AAAS knock-down induces a down-regulation of genes coding for type II microsomal cytochrome P450 hydroxylases CYP17A1 and CYP21A2 and their electron donor enzyme cytochrome P450 oxidoreductase, thereby decreasing biosynthesis of precursor metabolites required for glucocorticoid and androgen production. Furthermore I demonstrate that ALADIN deficiency leads to increased susceptibility to oxidative stress and alteration in redox homeostasis after paraquat treatment. Finally, I show significantly impaired nuclear import of DNA ligase 1, aprataxin and ferritin heavy chain 1 in ALADIN knock-down cells. I conclude that down-regulating ALADIN results in decreased oxidative stress response leading to alteration in steroidogenesis, highlighting the knock-down cell model as an important in vitro tool for studying the adrenal phenotype in triple A syndrome. In an approach to identify new interaction partners of ALADIN, co-immunoprecipitation followed by proteome analyses using mass spectrometry was conducted in a GFP-ALADIN over-expression model using the human adrenocortical tumor cell line NCI-H295R. These results were verified in co-immunoprecipitation assays of endogenous ALADIN using NCI-H295R wild-type cells. The results suggest a possible interaction between ALADIN and microsomal flavoprotein cytochrome P450 oxidoreductase and progesterone receptor membrane compartment 2. Co-localisation analyses of these findings were done using immunofluorescence. The data are suggestive for an involvement of ALADIN in the export of nuclear-encoded mitochondrial proteins. Regulation of adrenocortical steroidogenesis is complex and there is increasing evidence that oxidative stress due to ROS accumulation and mitochondria are significantly involved. Furthermore, there may be an important cross-talk between functional organelles comprising nucleus, ER and mitochondria which presumably involves lipid metabolism. The goal of this work was to elucidate the function of ALADIN for the cellular oxidative stress response and its possible consequences for adrenocortical steroidogenesis in triple A syndrome patients. / Mutationen im AAAS Gen verursachen die autosomal rezessive Krankheit Triple-A-Syndrom. AAAS kodiert das Nukleoporin ALADIN, welches Bestandteil des nukleären Porenkomplexes ist. Phänotypische Charakteristika des Triple-A-Syndroms sind Nebennierenrinden-Insuffizienz, Achalasie des unteren Speiseröhrenschließmuskels und eine fehlende Tränenproduktion (Alakrimie). Diese Symptome sind kombiniert mit progredienten neurologischen Störungen des zentralen, peripheren und autonomen Nervensystems. In dieser Arbeit wurde die Rolle von ALADIN in der humanen Karzinom-Zelllinie NCI-H295R1 untersucht. Diese Nebennierenrinden-Zellen wurden stabil transfiziert und mit einem induzierbaren Expressionssystem modifiziert, so dass sie AAAS entweder überexprimierten oder herunterregulierten. In NCI-H295R1-Zellen wurden Veränderungen der Genexpression von Enzymen der Steroidogenese und funktionelle Konsequenzen der Überexpression oder Herunterregulation von ALADIN gemessen. Des Weiteren wurde die Rolle von ALADIN auf die Zellviabilität und die Redox-Homöostase analysiert. ALADIN überexprimierende und herunterregulierte Zellen wurden verwendet, um die potentielle Behinderung des nukleären Imports von Proteinen zu untersuchen, welche den Zellkern gegen oxidativen Stress schützen (z.B. Aprataxin, DNA-Ligase 1 und Ferritin Heavy Chain 1). Dazu wurden YFP-spezifische Vektoren transient in diese Zellen gebracht. Mit den Ergebnissen dieser Arbeit wurde gezeigt, dass die Herunterregulation von AAAS eine Verminderung der Genexpression von CYP17A1 und CYP21A2 und deren Elektronendonor Cytochrom P450 Oxidoreduktase bewirken. Die Biosynthese der Vorläufermetabolite von Kortisol und Aldosteron ist in diesen Zellen ebenfalls vermindert. Des Weiteren zeigen die ALADIN-defizienten NCIH295R1-Zellen eine erhöhte Sensitivität gegenüber oxidativem Stress und eine veränderte Redox-Homöostase nach der Behandlung mit Paraquat. Darüber hinaus konnte in dieser Studie auch gezeigt werden, dass herunterregulierte ALADIN NCI-H295R1-Zellen einen verminderten Zellkernimport von Aprataxin, DNA-Ligase 1 und Ferritin heavy chain 1 besitzen. Aus diesen Ergebnissen kann geschlussfolgert werden, dass ALADIN-defiziente Nebennierenzellen eine verminderte Stressantwort auf oxidativen Stress besitzen; dies führt schlussendlich zu einer veränderten Steroidogenese. Das beschriebene ALADIN knock-down Modell in NCI-H295R1-Zellen ist ein wichtiges in vitro Werkzeug, um die Pathogenese der Nebennierenveränderungen im Triple-A-Syndrom zu erforschen. Neue Interaktionspartner von ALADIN wurden mit Hilfe von Co-Immunpräzipitation gefolgt von Proteom-Analysen durch Massenspektrometrie in einem GFP-ALADIN Überexpressionsmodell in NCI-H295R charakterisiert. Die Ergebnisse wurden durch Experimente auf endogenem Niveau in NCI-H295R-Wildtypzellen verifiziert. Mit diesen Daten wird in dieser Arbeit erstmals eine Interaktion zwischen ALADIN und dem Flavoprotein Cytochrom P450 Oxidoreduktase und Progesterone Receptor Membrane Compartment 2 nachgewiesen. Diese Ergebnisse wurden mit Co-Lokalisierungsanalysen durch Immunfluoreszenzfärbung von ALADIN und Cytochrome P450 Oxidoreduktase ergänzt. Außerdem gibt die Arbeit Hinweise darauf, dass ALADIN als Nukleoporin an dem nuklearen Export mitochondrialer Vorläuferproteine beteiligt ist. Die Regulation der Steroidogenese in der Nebennierenrinde ist komplex und es existieren zahlreiche Hinweise darauf, dass oxidativer Stress aufgrund der Ansammlung reaktiver Sauerstoffradikale und. dass die Mitochondrien involviert sind. Außerdem ist ein funktionelles Zusammenspiel verschiedener Organellen, darunter Nukleus, ER und Mitochondrien, von großer Bedeutung. Das Ziel dieser Arbeit war die Identifizierung der Funktion von ALADIN in der zellulären oxidativen Stressantwort und die möglichen Konsequenzen für die Steroidogenese in der Nebennierenrinden in Triple-A-Syndrom-Patienten.

Förväntningar på fördelar med projektsamarbeten : En fallstudie i utvecklingssamarbete mellan näringsliv, högskola och offentlig projektägare / Interorganizational cooperation, motives and benefits : A case study in corporate expectations of participation in development projects in Triple Helix structure

Offentlig projektägande är ett sätt att öka takten på miljöinnovationer och bidrar förutom till ett hållbarare samhälle även med tillväxt. Projektsamarbeten mellan näringsliv, offentlig aktör och högskola faller inom modellen Triple Helix och anses vara en effektiv form av samverkan där satsade resurser kan ge större avkastning. Deltagande i dessa projektsamarbeten kan stärka sin konkurrenskraft tack vare exempelvis genom tillgången till aktuell information och genom ett aktivt miljöarbete. Projektägarna upplever dock svårigheter att få deltagare till sina projektsamarbeten inom miljöutveckling. En ökad förståelse för företagens förväntningar kan bidra till en tydligare kommunikation kring de fördelar som kan uppstå. Kunskapen om vilka förväntningar som finns kan möjliggöra för projektägarna att tillföra ytterligare fördelar vilket gynnar företagen så väl som projektägarens möjlighet att värva framtida deltagare, och inte minst gynnar det miljöutvecklingen. Det finns en tydlig värderingsproblematik kring fördelar som kontaktskapande, "Grön Marknadsföring" och lärande vilket försvårar beslutsfattandet kring beslut som till stor del består av mer abstrakta fördelar än de som kan värderas i monetära termer. Det aktuella forskningsläget kartlägger upplevda fördelar efter att de uppstått och det finns därför en tydlig kunskapslucka kring hur företag resonerar när de ställs inför beslutet om deltagande i projektsamarbeten inom miljöutveckling. Studien har använt ett hermeneutiskt tolkningsperspektiv och ett kvalitativt angreppssätt med en fallstudie som forskningsdesign. Fallstudien har genomförts i ett projektsamarbete där projektmålet är att ta fram ett verktyg för ledningsarbete med kontinuerliga energibesparingar. Sex företag deltar och semistrukturerade intervjuer har genomförts med alla sex verksamhetsledarna som representerar företagen i projektet. Studien visar att alla deltagande företag har mål som liknar projektsamarbetets och att företagsidentiteten påverkar beslutet att delta. Det fanns ekonomiska motiv för deltagandet men hälften av verksamhetsledarna angav dessa sekundära. Fördelar som att projektsamarbetet anses imageförstärkande, utbyte av erfarenheter och skapande av kontakter som förväntas kunna nyttjas även efter projektets slut värderades i dessa fall högre. Vi ser att projektägaren kan tillföra fler upplevda fördelar genom att synliggöra företagens aktiva miljöarbete på ett tydligare sätt och underlätta de sociala relationerna att formas. För att attrahera deltagare är det viktigt för företagen att andra företag vill delta och att de känner tillit till projektägaren. / Public project ownership is a way to speed up the environmental innovation and contributing with a more sustainable society and development. Project collaboration between business, public and college belongs to the Triple Helix model, which is considered to be an effective form of collaboration where invested resources can give greater returns. Companies participating in this kind of collaborative can improve their competitiveness, for example through the availability of new information and through active environmental work. Despite these benefits, project owners find it difficult to recruit participants to such projects in environmental development. Increased understanding of business expectations can give opportunities to a better communication from the project owner about the benefits that may arise. The knowledge about what expectations there is can enable for the project owners to add further benefits, which benefit the companies as well as the project owner's ability to recruit future participants, and not to forget increase the environmental development. However, there is a clear valuation issue about benefits such as contact creation, "Green Marketing" and learning. The valuation problem makes decision making difficult for decisions about abstract benefits, rather than those that can be clearly valued in monetary terms. The study has used a hermeneutic interpretation perspective and a qualitative approach with a case study that used research design. The case study has been carried out in a project collaboration, where the project objective is to develop a tool for management work with continuous energy savings. Six companies participated in the project and interviews have been conducted with all six business leaders. The study shows that all participating companies have goals similar to project collaboration and that corporate identity influences the decision to participate. There were economic motivations to participate but they prioritized differently. Advantages expected from project collaboration include image, sharing experience and new contacts to use in the future. We see that the project owner can provide more perceived benefits by making clearer business active environmental work more visible and facilitating social relations. To attract participants, it is important for companies that other companies want to participate as well and that they trust the project owner.
