Určení řezných podmínek pro výrobu vybraných leteckých součástí / Establishment of cutting conditions for selected aircraft parts

Tato práce obsahuje přehled superslitin na bázi niklu, jejich obrábění za vysokého tlaku chladicí kapaliny, týká se také metod optimalizace pro tento typ obrábění a následné analýzy opotřebení nástroje. Tato studie byla vytvořena ve spolupráci se společností Safran, experimentální část byla zrealizována ve výrobním závodě Evry-Corbeil ve Francii. Experimentální část práce se týká optimalizace řezných podmínek pro vnitřní hrubovací soustružení součástí pro letecký průmysl za vysokého tlaku chladicí kapaliny. Cíle práce byly následující: srovnání rozdílných vyměnitelných břitových destiček dodaných společností Safran, návrh hrubovacích strategií a určení optimálních podmínek pro každou z vybraných strategií. Byly uvažovány dvě rozdílné strategie: soustružení s konstantním posuvem a šířkou záběru ostří a tzv. „ramping“. Pro každou ze strategií byla provedena operace čelního a podélného soustružení. Výsledky byly porovnány na základě ekonomického a produktivního kritéria.

Essa passagem acarreta mudanças de editoria (de feminina para cultura e lazer), gênero (de receita para crítica e reportagem), enfoque (da prática ao discurso), espaço (da casa ao restaurante), protagonista (da cozinheira ao chef) e abordagem (de cotidiana a cultural). Analisamos, pelo viés do discurso, dois marcos dessa virada: a coluna À mesa como convém (1975-1997), no Jornal do Brasil, e a primeira fase do suplemento Comida (1988-1992), na Folha de S.Paulo. O percurso teórico conta com duas balizas: Michel Foucault, para abordar a virada como acontecimento discursivo, e Pierre Bourdieu, para explorar a constituição do jornalismo gastronômico como subcampo do jornalismo. Foi necessário coletar textos anteriores à virada para comparação, o que nos levou a recolher conteúdos publicados nos dois jornais desde 1960. Os resultados apontam que são três os principais temas recorrentes na virada: os critérios da crítica, o início da valorização dos chefs de cozinha e a pedagogia do consumo. Como gênero que busca indicar ou rechaçar restaurantes, a crítica busca orientar o leitor nos momentos de lazer. Os chefs começam a ser valorizados após a chegada dos profissionais franceses ao Brasil. A pedagogia do consumo é o caminho encontrado para buscar ampliar o conhecimento do leitor em uma área ainda nova para ele. / This study aims to present the gastronomical turning point, a transition period in which cooking is replaced by gastronomy in Brazilian journalism. This transformation leads to changes in section (from female to culture and leisure), genre (from recipe to review and report), focus (from practice to discourse), space (from home to restaurant), protagonist (from home cook to chef) and approach (from ordinary to cultural). We analyzed, through a discoursive approach, two landmarks of this moment: the column À mesa como convém (1975-1997), at Jornal do Brasil, and the first version of Comida section (1988-1992), at Folha de S.Paulo. The frame of reference relies on two main authors: Michel Foucault, to explain the turning point as a discursive event, and Pierre Bourdieu, to explore the establishment of food journalism as a journalism subfield. It was necessary to collect texts published before the turning point to compare them, what led us to collect content published in both newspapers since 1960. Results show that there are three main recurring themes in the turning point: the review criteria, the beginning of the acknowledgment of the role of chefs and the pedagogy of consumption. As a genre that intends to guide to restaurants or reject them, reviews try to lead the reader at leisure time. Chefs begin to be known after the arrival of French professionals at Brazil. Pedagogy of consumption is the path found to broaden the reader’s knowledge in a still unknown zone.

O presente trabalho trata sobre a influência do teor de enxofre, em quatro aços com uma composição química similar (famílias ABNT 1045 e ABNT 1145), na microestrutura, nas propriedades estáticas, dinâmicas e nos processos de usinagem. Para esta análise foi feita uma caracterização microestrutural de cada material para determinar parâmetros tais como a fração de inclusões de sulfeto de manganês (MnS) e a fração volumétrica de perlita. Também foi feita uma caracterização mecânica que consistiu em ensaios estáticos mediante o ensaio de tração e dureza, e um ensaio dinâmico utilizando a barra de Hopkinson, com o objetivo de observar o comportamento das inclusões e do próprio material quando deformado com altas e baixas taxas de deformação. Para a caracterização durante a usinagem destes aços foram feitos ensaios de torneamento para avaliar as forças de corte e de avanço em velocidades de corte de 190, 110, 45 e 15 m/min. A rugosidade dos corpos-de-prova também foi medida. Os resultados obtidos nos ensaios de torneamento e da caracterização microestrutural foram analisados estatisticamente para observar variações do comportamento das forças de usinagem de cada aço sob diferentes condições de velocidade de corte, e tentar correlacionar esse comportamento com a microestrutura do material. Observou-se que o aço 1045-A apresentou forças de usinagem (força de corte e força de avanço) superiores que os demais aços, já o aço que apresentou menores forças de usinagem foi o aço 1145-B. Isto é apenas uma tendência, devido que não houve diferença estatística que avaliasse esse comportamento. Também se observou que a rugosidade é um parâmetro que depende mais da velocidade de corte que da distribuição e/ou morfologia das inclusões. Evidenciou-se a formação de aresta postiça de corte (APC) numa faixa de velocidades (15-50 m/min), o que influenciou na rugosidade para estas condições de velocidades. Verificou-se que o comportamento das inclusões em baixas taxas de deformação é de caráter frágil, entanto que em altas taxas seu comportamento é plástico e deforma junto com a matriz. / This work deals with the sulfur influence on the microstructure and on the static, dynamic and machining behavior of four steels with similar chemical composition. (ABNT 1045 and ABNT 1145). Microstructure characterization of the materials was performed in order to obtain the area fraction of the phases of perlite and sulfide inclusions. A mechanical characterization of the materials was also performed, consisting in a set of static (tension and hardness test) and dynamic tests (Split Hopkinson Pressure Bar Test) with the objective of observing the deformation behavior of the sulfide inclusions at low and high strain rates. Various machining tests were carried out at different cutting speeds, namely 190, 110, 45 e 15 m min-1, for obtaining the cutting forces during de machining process. After the machining tests, the roughness of the steels was also measured. Later on, the results of the different experiments were analyzed with statistical tools and then compared to establish a correlation between the cutting forces and microstructure. The higher cutting forces were registered for the 1045-A steel and the lower for the 1145-B steel. However, this was considered merely a trend given that no statistical difference was found to support any conclusion. It was also observed a stronger roughness dependency on the cutting speed than in the distribution and/or morphology of the inclusions. The steels were observed to form a built-up edge (BUE) in a range of cutting velocities of 15-50 m/min. This phenomenon affected the roughness for these cutting velocities. The behavior of the sulfide inclusions was observed to be brittle under low strain rates. On the other hand, under high strain rates, a plastic deformation behavior was observed with inclusions participating in the plastic flow of the metal matrix.

Avaliação dos parâmetros físicos, químicos e microbiológicos dos fertilizantes orgânicos produzidos pelas técnicas de compostagem e vermicompostagem da fração orgânica dos resíduos sólidos urbanos coletada em estabelecimentos alimentícios de São Carlos/SP / Evaluation of physical, chemical and microbiological parameters of an organic fertilizer produced by the composting and vermicomposting of organic fraction of municipal solid wastes collected in São Carlos city

Apesar dos elevados teores de matéria orgânica nos resíduos domiciliares e da implantação da compostagem para os resíduos sólidos orgânicos ser prevista pela Política Nacional de Resíduos Sólidos (Lei n° 12.305/10), a adoção da prática como forma de tratamento ainda apresenta ações incipientes no país. Este trabalho teve como proposta a coleta seletiva da fração orgânica dos resíduos sólidos urbanos (FORSU) produzida em 19 estabelecimentos comerciais de São Carlos para a realização da compostagem e vermicompostagem. A primeira etapa do trabalho consistiu na verificação da adaptação dos proprietários dos estabelecimentos em relação ao sistema de segregação proposto e na avaliação da percepção dos mesmos em relação à separação dos resíduos orgânicos e da compostagem, sendo esta análise realizada através da aplicação de questionários. Na segunda etapa, foi realizada a compostagem em quatro leiras cilíndricas de alambrado de 1,2 m de diâmetro e 1 m de altura. Testou-se os seguintes tratamentos em cada leira: trituração e revolvimento, não trituração e revolvimento, não trituração e não revolvimento (controle) e não trituração e não revolvimento com tubos de PVC. Verificou-se, através do monitoramento dos parâmetros físicos, químicos e microbiológicos e de análises estatísticas, as diferenças e similaridades entre os tratamentos. A terceira etapa iniciou-se após a estabilização dos compostos. Foram inoculadas 500 minhocas da espécie Eisenia foetida em uma quantia entre 20-25 kg de composto retirado das leiras revolvidas e os mesmos parâmetros da etapa anterior foram monitorados na vermicompostagem. Os resultados encontrados na etapa 1 indicaram que: os estabelecimentos realizaram a correta segregação dos resíduos, mostrando-se bem adaptados; quase a metade dos entrevistados desconheciam a técnica de compostagem; e, embora a maioria realizasse a separação da FORSU, a mesma era coletada de forma não diferenciada e encaminhada diretamente ao aterro. Na etapa 2, constatou-se que: o revolvimento influenciou na manutenção da temperatura termofílica por períodos mais prolongados, na correção da umidade, nos valores de pH , nitrogênio, relação C/N, CRA, metais, macro e micro nutrientes e granulometria; em relação à trituração, com exceção da granulometria, os demais parâmetros monitorados foram similares a leira não triturada, demostrando pouca influência de sua adoção no processo de compostagem; na leira composta por tubos de PVC, os registros de temperatura foram menores que as demais, de forma que o dispositivo ocasionou um resfriamento excessivo. Concluiu-se que somente a etapa 2 foi suficiente para o atingimento dos limites legais estabelecidos para os fertilizantes orgânicos, sendo os benefícios da adoção da vermicompostagem na etapa 3 relacionados aos incrementos das propriedades agronômicas de fertilidade de solo. / Despite the presence of high levels of organic matter in household wastes and the implementation of composting for organic wastes provided by the National Policy on Solid Waste (Law No. 12,305/10), the composting practice as a treatment is still incipient in Brazil. This study aimed at the selective collection of the organic fraction of municipal solid wastes (OFMSW) produced in 19 establishments in São Carlos city for use in composting and vermicomposting techniques. The first stage of the study consisted in an investigation on the adaptation to the segregation system proposed and evaluation of the owners\' perceptions regarding the separation of organic waste and composting through questionnaires. The second stage was devoted to the composting. The collected waste was deposited onto four cylindrical piles of 1.2 m diameter and 1 m height. The treatments evaluated in each pile were trituration and turning, no trituration and turning, no trituration and no turning (control), and no trituration and no turning of PVC pipes. The monitoring and statistical analysis of the physical, chemical and microbiological parameters revealed differences and similarities in each treatment. The third stage started after the stabilization of the compost. Five hundred earthworms of Eisenia foetida specie were inoculated in 20-25 kg of compost taken from two piles and the same parameters of the previous step were monitored. In step 2, the turning influenced the maintenance of the thermophilic stage for longer periods, humidity correction, values of pH, nitrogen, C/N relation, WRC, metals, micro and macronutrient and particle size. Except for the particle size, trituration exerted little influence on the parameters. The lowest temperatures were recorded in a pile composed of PVC pipes. It can be concluded that only the second step was sufficient for the achievement of legal limits for organic fertilizers and the benefits of vermicomposting as a post treatment technique (step 3) are related to the increase in the agronomic properties of soil fertility.

Avaliação da replicagem de moldes torneados com ferramenta de diamante usando prensagem a quente em polimetilmetacrilato (PMMA) / Evaluation of the replication of molds generated from single point diamond turning using hot embossing in polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA)

Neste trabalho, diferentes tipos de microestruturas foram geradas por torneamento com ferramenta de diamante de ponta única e microendentação para serem replicadas através da prensagem a quente. Testes foram realizados para ser avaliada a geração destas microestruturas por dois métodos distintos: microdeformação e microusinagem, planejados para observar a replicação gerada por marca de endentação Vickers (piramidal) e, remoção de material (torneamento com ferramenta de diamante de ponta única). Uma revisão no processo de manufatura aplicada para a replicação de microestruturas é apresentada. Os materiais usados como molde e réplica foram o cobre eletrolítico e o polimetilmetacrilato (PMMA), respectivamente. Inicialmente, a usinabilidade do cobre eletrolítico foi avaliada sob diferentes condições de corte, a fim de determinar parâmetros apropriados de torneamento para obter um fino revestimento de superfície final (rugosidade). Observou-se que para avanços (f) de 10 mícrons por revolução e profundidade de corte (ap) de 5 mícrons, a superfície apresentou um baixo valor de rugosidade, isto é, 2,81 nm para rugosidade média (Ra) e 13,4 nm para rugosidade teórica (Rt). Além disso, observou-se que a microestrutura do material mostrou-se de fundamental papel na rugosidade, por conta da recuperação elástica dos grãos devido a anisotropia da estrutura policristalina do cobre. As microestruturas geradas para a replicagem foram: a) lente esférica, b) perfil senoidal e sulcos concêntricos. Os resultados mostraram que é viável a reprodução, com boa conformidade das microestruturas, por meio de prensagem a quente. Observou-se que as bordas e as superfícies finas com rugosidade em torno de 10 nm rms foram bem replicadas. / In this work, different types of microstructures were generated by single point diamond turning and microindentation for will replicated through the hot embossing. Tests were carried to evaluate the generation these microstructures by two distinct methods: micro-deformation and micro-machining, planned to observe the replication of the mark generated by the Vickers indenter (Pyramidal) and the latter by material removal (single point diamond turning). A review on several manufacturing processes applied to replication of microfeatures, is presented. The materials used as mould and replication workpiece were electroless copper and polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA), respectively. Initially, the machinability of electroless copper was evaluated under different cutting conditions to determinate appropriate turning parameters to obtain very fine surface finish (roughness). It was observed that for f = 10 microns of revolution (feed rate) and ap = 5 microns (depth of cut), the surface presented the roughness’ lowest value, i.e., 2,81 nm to medium roughness (Ra) and 13,4 nm to theoretical roughness (Rt). Moreover, it was observed that the microstructure of the material plays a fundamental role on roughness, because of the elastic recovery of grains due to the anisotropy of the polycrystalline structure of copper. The microfeatures generated were the following: a) spherical lens, b) sinusoidal profile and concentrical grooves. The results showed that it is feasible to reproduce, with good agreement, the microfeatures by means of hot embossing. It was observed that thin edges and fine surfaces with roughness around 10 nm rms were well replicated.

Etude analytique et expérimentale de l’usinage d’un tube mince / Analytical and experimental study of the machining of a thin tube

Ce travail de thèse se concentre sur l’étude du comportement dynamique des tubes minces durant leur usinage par tournage et notamment sur la survenue du broutement régénératif. L’étude de l’usinage de ce type de pièce est pertinente car ces pièces font l’objet d’une large diffusion dans divers domaines industriels tels que la construction aéronautique (notamment moteurs), la construction navale, la production de fusées. Ces pièces ayant une faible rigidité, il est fréquent que des vibrations indésirables se produisent en cours d’usinage. Il est donc intéressant d’être à même de les prédire pour les éviter.L’approche proposée vise à permettre un choix rapide et efficace des conditions de coupe, et notamment des profondeurs de passe, pour cette opération d’usinage. Pour cela nous proposons de mettre en place un modèle mécanique analytique du tube (modèle de coque mince utilisant un nombre réduit de degrés de liberté) de manière à réduire les coûts numériques et à faciliter l’analyse du phénomène. L’impact de la taille du modèle sur les résultats est étudié (nombre de formes propres) ainsi que de la prise en compte de l’enlèvement de matière (évolution du comportement dynamique) et du déplacement de l’outil. Afin de valider l’approche une expérience a été mise en place et est également présentée dans ce mémoire. / This work focuses on the study of the dynamic behavior of thin tubes during their machining by turning and gives particular emphasis on the occurrence of regenerative chatter. The study of machining of this type of workpiece is relevant because they are widely used in various industrial fields such as aircraft construction (including engines), shipbuilding, rocket production. As these parts have low rigidity, it is common that undesirable vibrations occur during machining. It is therefore of interest to be able to predict them in order to avoid them.The proposed approach is designed to enable a fast and efficient selection of cutting conditions, including cutting depths for this machining operation. We thus propose to elaborated an analytical model for the dynamics of the tube (thin shell based model using a reduced number of degrees of freedom) to reduce the numerical costs and to facilitate the analysis of the phenomenon. The impact of the size of the model on the results is studied (number of shape functions), as well as the impact of material removal (evolution of the dynamic behavior) and of the motion of the tool. An experiment, presented in this thesis, was also set up in order to validate the approach.

Presented thesis is called Pathways Out of Homelessness from the Respondents Point of View. It basis lays in the analysis of interviewes with nine respondents by so called grounded theory method. As an answer to the question - How formaly homeless people get back to the society from their point of view? - the model of Changeable identity emerged. Its description is the basis of this thesis. I clarify two positions "homeless person" and "person with full society membership" within it, I am observing the transformation from the first position to the second through the reintegration process. I follow influences that affect it. In conclusion, I discuss a question of the end of homelessness. Higher order numerical methods for singular perturbation problems

Philosophiae Doctor - PhD / In recent years, there has been a great interest towards the higher order numerical methods for singularly perturbed problems. As compared to their lower order counterparts, they provide better accuracy with fewer mesh points. Construction and/or implementation of direct higher order methods is usually very complicated. Thus a natural choice is to use some convergence acceleration techniques, e.g., Richardson extrapolation, defect correction, etc. In this thesis, we will consider various classes of problems described by singularly perturbed ordinary and partial differential equations. For these problems, we design some novel numerical methods and attempt to increase their accuracy as well as the order of convergence. We also do the same for existing numerical methods in some instances. We find that, even though the Richardson extrapolation technique always improves the accuracy, it does not perform equally well when applied to different methods for certain classes of problems. Moreover, while in some cases it improves the order of convergence, in other cases it does not. These issues are discussed in this thesis for linear and nonlinear singularly perturbed ODEs as well as PDEs. Extrapolation techniques are analyzed thoroughly in all the cases, whereas the limitations of the defect correction approach for certain problems is indicated at the end of the thesis. / South Africa

The diplomma thesis deals with the Lewis turning point and its impact on the Chinese economy. The work is divided into three main chapters. The first chapter explains the basic concept ,,Lewis turning point" and its position in the global context. Besides W. A. Lewis is also mentioned in a number of other authors dealing with growth theories. Here it is primarily determined whether China has reached the Lewis turning point, which is the impact of this point on the Chinese economy, the labor market and what follows the development of the Chinese economy after reaching this point. The third part is found a connection between Lewis turning point and university/higher education. Part of this chapter are the specifics, trends and especially the problems of the university system in China. The conclusion of this chapter is devoted to a turning point, and its impact on education.
