Upřesnění sekvestrace uhlíku v půdě v severní části Českého krasu / Soil carbon sequestration in northern part of Czech karst

Polická, Petra January 2014 (has links)
Due to climate change there is a growing concern for soil organic carbon reservoires. The soil is the largest terrestrial pool of organic carbon and its balance is being increasingly disturbed by conversion of natural to managed ecosystem (for agriculture, forestry and urbanization). There are still large uncertainities with estimating real amount of organic carbon sequestrated in soils. Therefore a number of regional and national soil inventories and monitoring networks are currently established or tested to verify soil carbon changes. Thesis is focused on estimation of soil organic carbon pools in the area of Czech basic map Beroun 12-41-08. It evaluates available soil data and restrictions of their use. Especially is focused on comprehensive soil survey undertaken between 1961 and 1970, on soil properties change in time and how to get missing bulk densities of the soil, particularly through pedotransfer functions. Porovnání různých způsobů frakcionace půdní organické hmoty / Comparison of two methods of soil organic matter fractionantion

Fryčová, Kateřina January 2012 (has links)
Comparison of two different soil organic matter fractionation methods Soil organic matter (SOM) significantly affects physical, chemical and biological properties of soils and plays also a crucial role in the global carbon cycle. In order to simulate SOM dynamics a number of mathematical models have been developed. These models divide SOM into several theoretical pools according to their stability. Unfortunately, lacking experimental procedure which could measure these pools directly, although for this purpose a wide range of fractionation procedures were developed, that are trying identified empirical fractions with theoretical model pools. An objective of this experiment was to reproduce two fractionation procedures on a set of twenty-seven laboratory-prepared samples: according to Six and according to Zimmermann and to compare their results. Also the relationship between respiration and the amount of carbon in different pools was compared. The most significant differences were found in active pools, where Six's method found twice as much carbon than Zimmermann's one. Finally response of both method results to various environmental parameters (mineral composition, litter type and soil mixing) was compared. According to the results of Zimmermann's method the amount of carbon in different pools was mainly...

Hodnocení sekvestračního potenciálu vegetace/porostů rekultivovaných výsypek metodami DPZ / Assessment of the sequestration capacity of vegetation by remote sensing methods in areas of reclaimed mining dumps

PIKL, Miroslav January 2018 (has links)
The study aims at estimation and mapping the amount of carbon allocated in above ground biomass of wood and in organo-mineral soil horizon at sites where reclamation and spontaneous succession took place on spoil heaps after coal mining. Several categories of data have been used to meet the objectives, namely ground field measurements, laboratory analyses of soil samples, airborne hyperspectral data from VNIR region, and airborne LiDAR scanning data. The digital imagery analysis, GIS modeling and multivariation statistical methods were applied in data assessment. The results show that there is a 7 600 tons of carbon allocated in above ground wood biomass in the area of 209 ha, and 8 100?12 200 tons in the soil A horizon in the region of the same size. The results proofed: 1/ statistically significant negative relationships (p < 0,01) between slope and amount of soil carbon, where higher negative correlation was for broad leaved species; 2/ statistically significant difference (p < 0,05) between amount of soil carbon under broad leaved and needle classes and under different species, the highest between soils under Alnus sp. and Pinus sp.; 3/ statistically significant relationships (p < 0,05) between the amount of carbon allocated in the aboveground wood biomass and that in the soil A horizon under the needle leaved class and under the spontaneous wood vegetation.

Kyselina vanilmandlová a homovanilová: Elektroanalýza na elektrodách na bázi uhlíku / Vanillylmandelic and Homovanillic Acid: Electroanalysis at Carbon-Based Electrodes

Baluchová, Simona January 2017 (has links)
The objective of the present work is the study of the electrochemical behaviour of two diagnostic tumor markers of great importance, vanillylmandelic acid (VMA) and homovanillic acid (HVA), on carbon-based electrodes by using cyclic and differential pulse voltammetry. A comparison was made among non-modified glassy carbon electrode (GCE) and GCE modified by multi-walled carbon nanotubes, Nafion (Nafion/GCE) and poly(neutral red) (PNR/GCE), and further boron doped diamond (BDD) electrode which was activated by anodic polarization (Eakt = +2,4 V, t = 30 s) or by polishing on alumina slurry. Significant differences in the voltammetric responses of VMA and HVA were found, not only among utilized electrode materials which also influenced the way of controlling the oxidation process, but also they depend on the pH value of aqueous media in which these acids occurred. An acidic environment is the most suitable for their determination. Calibration dependences were measured in 0.1 mol∙l−1 phosphate buffer pH 3.0 which was chosen as an optimal supporting electrolyte for differential pulse voltammetric determination. Achieved detection limits were 0.6, 0.9, 0.8 and 1.2 μmol∙l−1 for HVA and 0.4, 1.5, 2.4 and 1.1 μmol∙l−1 for VMA at BDD electrode, non-modified GCE, Nafion/GCE and PNR/GCE, respectively. Limits...

Zkoumání uhlíku jako aditiva záporné aktivní hmoty olověného akumulátoru pro hybridní elektrická vozidla / Investigation of carbon effect in negative active mass on lead-acid accumulator for HEV.

Tonar, Karel January 2010 (has links)
The lead-acid bateries for hybrid-electric vehicle (HEV) working under high-rate partial-state-of-charge (HRPSoC) conditions. The negative plates of lead-acid batteries have low charge acceptance. The cycle life of the batteries is dependent on the rate accumulation of PbSO4 on the negative plates. Addition of some carbon or graphite forms to the negative paste mix improves the charge efficieny and slows down sulfation of the negative plates. The master’s thesis wants to explain the contribution of electrochemically active carbon (EAC) additives to the mechanis of the electrochemical reaction of charge of the negative plates.

Výživa a sociální rozdíly v raném středověku Francie: analýza stabilních izotopů lehkých prvků dospělých jedinců merovejského pohřebiště Le-Norroy-le-Veneur (Francie, 5.až 8. století n.l.) / Diet and social stratification in Early Medieval France: Carbon and nitrogen stable isotope analysis of adult population from Merovingian burial site of Le-Norroy-le-Veneur (France, 5th-8th century)

Vytlačil, Zdeněk January 2016 (has links)
The aim of this work was to characterize the diet of a Merovingian population sample and examine if apparent differences in grave good assemblages of Merovingian burials and transfromation of this funerary rite during 6th and 7th centuries were reflected in diet. Dietary composition was assessed using a carbon and nitrogen stable isotope analysis of 74 bone collagen samples from adults buried at an early medieval cemetery of le-Norroy-le-Veneur, France. Results showed diet based primarily on C3 plants, supplemented with animal protein in a range similar to other contemporary sites. No significant contribution of C4 plants (e.g. millet) or marine-derived protein has been detected and neither has δ15 N dependency on status, sex or datation been found. However, persons with rich grave good assemblages had significantly higher δ13 C than low-ranking individuals. Also, during the time of use of the cemetery there has been a population-wide decrease of 0,33 ‰ in mean value of δ13 C, independent of social status or sex. Results indicate that dietary differentiation steaming from social stratification was only in its early phase of formation, slowly following a progressive rise in power of the Merovingian nobility, and the general subsistence was affected by another independent change in society, most...

Studium fyzikálně-chemických vlastností povrchově modifikovaného oxidu wolframu / Studium fyzikálně-chemických vlastností povrchově modifikovaného oxidu wolframu

Polášek, Jan January 2016 (has links)
This work can be divided into two parts. In the first part, we examine possibilities of preparation of monocrystalline tungsten and tungsten oxide nanoclusters by means of magnetron sputtering with gas aggregation. Clusters are prepared in the non-reactive (Ar) and reactive (Ar + O2) atmosphere and heated after the deposition or during the flight by IR radiation. Influence of oxygen in the aggre- gation process was described and possibilities of generating crystalline tungsten and tungsten oxide clusters were found. In the second part, we study reactivity of tungsten oxide layers, pure and doped with rare metals (Pt, Au), deposited on the silicon wafer and etched carbon, towards partial methanol oxidation. Influence of carbon substrate and metal doppants on reactivity was found and described, along with mofrological and chemical changes that occurs in the sample during the proces. 1
