Entre diferentes interpretações, propostas por importantes filósofos, a teoria se situa entre uma possível metafísica ou uma forma particular de naturalismo em relação ao modo como diferentes organismos vivos percebem e agem no mundo. Para que seja possível este estudo, o trabalho está dividido em quatro capítulos. O primeiro é dedicado a uma análise da ampla influência que Uexküll teve das idéias de Kant e que mostra ser o fundamento filosófico de sua biologia teórica. No segundo capítulo, será analisada a interpretação de Heidegger que compreende a teoria de mundo-próprio com um significado metafísico particular. No terceiro capítulo, examina-se uma interpretação que entende a teoria de mundo-próprio como uma forma alternativa de naturalismo que rompe com o dualismo cartesiano no ponto de vista de Merleau-Ponty. A partir desta exposição, propõem-se avaliar as possíveis interpretações da teoria de mundo-próprio e suas consequências filosóficas.

Die zentrale Frage des Forschungsprojektes ist: Was brauchen Menschen, um nachhaltig zu leben? Das Forschungsprojekt InContext identifiziert die Rahmenbedingungen, die einen gesellschaftlichen Übergang zu einer ökologisch verträglichen, wirtschaftlich erfolgreichen und kulturell diversen Zukunft möglich macht. Im Zentrum des Projektes steht dabei das Zusammenspiel zwischen strukturellen Bedingungen und jeweils individuellen, internen Faktoren, die den Kontext für individuelles Handeln bilden.

Among different interpretations proposed by important philophers, the theory is situted between an eventual metaphysics and a particular form of naturalism regarding to the way how different lived organisms perceive and act on the environment. To make possible this study, this work is divided in tree chapters. The fist on is dedicated to an analysis on the wide influence that Uexkull had from Kant s ideas and that indicates the philosophical basis of his theoretical biology. In the second chapter, we will analyze Heidegger interpretation that understands the theory of self-world in a particular metalphisical meaning. In the third chapter, we will examine the interpratation that understands the theory of sel-world as an altenative form of naturalism which breaks away the cartesian dualism in Merleau-Ponty view. From this showing, it is proposed to evaluate the eventual interpretations for the theory of self-world and their philosophical consequences
