Zhodnocení zavedení neomezených tarifů na český trh / The Evaluation of Free tariffs implementation on the Czech market

Myšková, Marika January 2014 (has links)
The aim of this thesis is to evaluate the process of introducing unlimited tariffs by O2 Czech Republic a.s. as to the Czech telecommunications market. The focus of this topic has two perspectives, perspective of the innovative companies and competitors' view. In the assessment perspective, there is also the view of customers. In the first part, I have dealt mainly with the general theory of introducing innovative products to the market, which is related to business surveys that were conducted, in particular the analysis of competition and the market. In the practical part, I focused on the very process of implementation, including the initial assessment of the market situation, setting pricing policies or communication tools that were used. In conclusion, I compared previous expectations with real impacts.

Effect of Dominance in Captive Female White-Tailed Deer (Odocoileus Virginianus)

Michel, Eric S 11 May 2013 (has links)
Factors associated with rank position are poorly understood whereas even fewer studies assessed if benefits were associated with increased rank position when resources were unlimited. I assessed whether age, body mass, size, and testosterone levels were important in rank establishment among 132 captive female white-tailed deer (Odocoileus virginianus). I also assessed if the benefit metrics of improved body condition, decreased stress level, and earlier parturition date were related to rank position. Deer in each of 9 study pens had a linear hierarchy with a mean h Πof 0.39 (SD = 0.09). Rank position was moderately related to age (P < 0.1) and was strongly related to body mass and size (P < 0.01). There was no relationship between benefit metrics and rank position (P < 0.1). Although increased body mass, size, and age improved rank position there were no benefits associated with increased rank when resources were unlimited.

An Evaluation of the University of North Texas' "Youth Opportunities Unlimited" Program (a Compensatory Education Program for At-Risk, Secondary School Students)

Stovall, Pat Weeks 08 1900 (has links)
Even though the Youth Opportunities Unlimited program has been in effect for ten years, there exists no current, comprehensive, effectiveness research on YOU. Such analysis is needed to determine the value of the YOU program. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of the YOU program. Both quantitative and qualitative research methods are used in this study. Quantitative analysis is provided through factual data collected through an alumni survey. Qualitative analysis is provided through personal opinion information obtained from YOU alumni through the survey and by personal interview. The YOU program at UNT is a successful compensatory education program that helps improve the education and the lives of America's at-risk students.

Osobní obchodní společnosti a jejich povaha / Personal Corporations and Their Character

Chvalovská, Eva January 2012 (has links)
Personal corporations and their character The purpose of this thesis is to examine Czech legal regulation of personal corporations, i. e. unlimited partnership and limited partnership, in force. The reason for the research is to focus on some crucial provisions concerning the above mentioned corporations which may seem ambiguous, permit various interpretations and therefore cause difficulties in legal practice, to explain different positions of Czech legal experts and judicial authorities concerning the interpretation and to support the interpretation which seems most likely to be intended by the legislator. Sometimes relevant legal regulation in some foreign countries is mentioned to be compared with the Czech legal system. The thesis is composed of four chapters, each of them dealing with different aspects of Czech legal regulation of personal corporations in force. The Introduction briefly describes what the term personal corporations stands for and mentiones the bill on business corporations which is currently being discussed in the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Parliament and which is being mentioned to enter in force on 1st January 2013. Chapter One shortly examines the history of personal corporations legal regulation on the territory of today's Czech Republic. It is subdivided into two parts,...

Considerações evolucionárias em um modelo de desenvolvimento com oferta ilimitada de mão-de-obra / Evolutionary observations in a developing model with unlimited supplies of labor

Inui, Luis Roberto 12 April 2006 (has links)
This dissertation reviews the dual economy model presented by Lewis in 1954 (1), adding to the discussion aspects about the competitive dynamics between firms, technological progress, and other elements of the labor market (labor mobility, qualification and wage dynamics). Its goal is to propose new elements that could, once incorporated into the original model, explain the possibility of a persistent labor surplus (a surplus that would be resistant to the accumulation process).

La pleine juridiction du juge de l’Union en droit de la concurrence / .

Gaulard, Géraldine 27 June 2019 (has links)
The developments in competition litigation prove clearly that the initial debate about breaches of substantive competition law has now been replaced by a debate over the fine. The EU courts’ unlimited jurisdiction is now central to the debate over fines. In EU law, unlimited jurisdiction of the Court of justice regarding the penalties is granted by article 261, TFEU and by article 31, regulation no1/2003. On one hand, the powers granted to the EU courts are broad and vague. Which means unlimited jurisdiction results from a case-law construction of an evolutive and open nature. On the other hand, under human rights law, unlimited jurisdiction is a standard of control while under EU law, unlimited jurisdiction is merely a competence over the level of the fine. Therefore, the underlying question remains whether the judicial review in EU law does comply with the criteria of unlimited jurisdiction as established by the ECtHr? The objective of this study is to bring light to the fact that the definition of unlimited jurisdiction in EU law is blurred based on the misapprehension of its nature and more importantly, given the conflicting case law in this matter, we would like to promote a dynamic approach of the EU courts’ unlimited jurisdiction through practical solutions in a systematic perspective in the interests of legal certainty and judicial coherence

Surrender to Dagaa : An ethnographic study of Fishing in Zanzibar

Trägårdh, Björn January 2023 (has links)
This thesis explores Zanzibari fishing practices and the fishermen’s relation to the ocean, within the context of the global political economy. The study focuses on catching small pelagic fish, locally known as dagaa, which has become vital for food security in Zanzibar. By combining anthropological theories of phenomenology and political economy, the thesis identifies capitalism and the need for cash as constituting a metabolic rift that alienates fishermen from the ocean, where the ocean is seen as more of an industrial landscape to earn a wage rather than a landscape to dwell with. The thesis further expands the analysis to discuss overexploitation in relation to the global economy with a worldview of unlimited goods.

Remembering Del-Aware: Community Activism and Eco-Politics in Bucks County, Pennsylvania in the Age of Reagan

Friedman, Gail January 2016 (has links)
This thesis tells the previously untold story of how environmental activists in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, in the 1980s waged a nearly decade-long and ultimately losing battle against a plan to pump water from the free-flowing Delaware River. As a case study of grassroots community activism during the presidential administration of Ronald Reagan, the struggle known locally as “Dump the Pump” and spearheaded by a nonprofit organization called Del-AWARE supports and provides a regional take on recent scholarship that has illuminated the vibrant underlying dynamics of local civic engagement occurring amid the overshadowing political conservatism of the Reagan years. Also a case study in public history, this thesis demonstrates how collective historical memory fueled not only Del-AWARE’s protracted struggle, but its enduring legacy in public policy and community life. It concludes with suggestions for preserving the history of Del-AWARE before it is lost forever. / History
