The purpose of this study is to get an idea of how active teachers in various stages are defining and working with values in their activities, and to highlight the similarities and differences in the way that they are working on this in the various stages. Qualitative interviews with teachers in preschool, primary education and recreational centres are the basis of the results. The study provides an overview of previous research in the area, and has a theoretical basis in Vygotskys sociocultural theory. The results show that respondents believe that the definition of values lays in relational values, which show us how to behave against fellow human beings. The way to work with value education proves to be different among educators, and we can divide them into different camps based on their attitude to value education. These attitudes are shown to be of importance for how the value education is designed.

Syftet med föreliggande studie är att undersöka vad förskollärare uppfattar som etiska dilemman i sitt arbete, och hur de förhåller sig till dem. Utifrån syftet skapades tre forskningsfrågor: Vilka situationer på förskolan beskriver förskollärarna som etiska dilemman? Hur hanterar förskollärare etiska dilemman och vilka pedagogiska värden och perspektiv beaktas? På vilket sätt diskuteras etiska dilemman i eller utanför arbetslaget? För att få svar på syftet och frågeställningar används en kvalitativ intervjuguide och som hjälp vid analysen av empirin används värdgrundpedagogiska begrepp som teori. Studiens resultat visar att det i förskolan dagligen sker flera och olika situationer som kan upplevas som etiska dilemman. Diskussion i arbetslaget och ett öppet klimat framkom som viktigt likaså poängterades ett gemensamt förhållningssätt i arbetslaget. Tiden framkom som en faktor som påverkar etiska dilemman och ställningstagande, reflektionstiden upplevdes för kort för dessa diskussioner. Yrkesetiska riktlinjer för förskollärare framkom som bristande och något som saknas. De överväganden förskollärarna gör handlar oftast om de ska tänka utifrån barnets eller verksamhetens bästa. Vad som väger tyngst bestäms av situationen.
