Komparace současné hospodářské krize s Velkou hospodářskou krizí (USA a velké evropské ekonomiky) / Comparison between the Great Depression and the Recent Crisis through Economy of the USA and through Economies of Chosen European Countries

Darmová, Kateřina January 2011 (has links)
This period was marked by severe financial and political economic crisis which is, for its results, considered as one of the most unpleasant in our history. Regarding its devastating consequences, it is very often compared to Great Depression, which afflicted people in 1930. Even if there is one decade dynamic development between these two crises, it is possible to observe several similar parallels. The main target of my work is to answer the question, whether these parallels are really similar, through the use of analysis of individual crisis and also through their comparison to economics of USA and other selected European countries (UK, France, Germany). The first subject of our interest will be the analysis of pre-crisis period, which is basically the principle of the whole work. Afterwards I will examine the process of individual crisis itself, together with reactions from the government. This overall comparison should give us information, whether there are the same processes that characterised the development in interwar time nowadays, or whether this resemblance is fully accidental.

The Geograph in its genesis is concerned to analyze some of the spaces transformation factors, so our concern was also focused on the discussion of how Brazilian companies established abroad would be part of a change in the economic o and political order in the period. Seeking to preliminary information respecting national companies investing abroad, we find that the meat industry was highlighted with two large multinationals in the industry: JBS and Marfrig Group. From this we understand what strategies these groups looking for international expansion. We found that in addition to entrepreneurship, both had broad access to public funding from the BNDES and internal and external conditions favorable. Thus we see that the formation of large Brazilian multinationals is still an ongoing process, but already represents a small change to the national business dynamics, acting similarly to other countries, especially when we analyze the current processes in other emerging and developed nations.

O Império do Brasil na segunda era da abolição, 1861-1880 / The Empire of Brazil in the second age of abolition, 1861-1880

Youssef, Alain El 12 February 2019 (has links)
This dissertation analyzes the crisis of Brazilian slavery in global perspective during the period from the American Civil War (1861-1865) to the formation of the national abolitionist movement (1879-1880). To do so, it employs two distinct but related strategies. The first one consists on verifying how Brazilians guided their horizon of expectations regarding how to conduct emancipation based on spaces of experience provided by national and global historical processes. The second is to examine how the reorganization of the capitalist world-economy, the transformations in the interstate system, and social mobilization in Brazil and other regions of the world impacted political and socioeconomic processes underway in the Empire. By uniting these two dimensions, this research ultimately demonstrates that the crisis of slavery in Brazil was not part of a fledged century of abolitions, but rather a specific historical structure or time of black slavery in the Americas that I call second age of abolition.

Power And Decline In The British And American Hegemonies: A Wallersteinian Analysis

Kocak, Yunus Emre 01 December 2006 (has links) (PDF)
The concept of hegemony has been an important subject in the 1970s as the US hegemonic position has entered into a decline period. This study aims to underline that the ongoing decline of US hegemony shares substantial analogies with the decline of British hegemony in the late 19th century. As the hegemonic economy enters into contraction period, it starts to experience financial expansion. Today, the US hegemony is in the midst of such an orientation toward the financialization. The study analyzes the historical changes within both hegemonic cases by direct references to the world-system theory and construct a comparative perspective in production, commerce and finance domains respectively to support these arguments.

La mise en place d'une cellule d'Intelligence Économique en Côte d'Ivoire : cas du secteur touristique / Setting up a cell of Business Intelligence in Côte d'Ivoire : case of the tourism sector

Konate, Mathy 07 October 2015 (has links)
This thesis focuses on the establishment of an economic Intelligence in Côte d'Ivoire given cell specificities cultural and organizational of this country, particularly with regard to information. It is particularly interested in the sector of the tourism industry in Côte d'Ivoire. Business Intelligence is today part integral of the world economy based on the knowledge economy, it is the central link in the chain information and enables organizations to identify growth opportunities while protecting any threats. The concept, born within large groups of developed countries, often cannot be applied as to small and medium-sized organizations and even less to those of the countries of the third world. Côte d'Ivoire struggling to get out of the crisis and important organizational and structural disorders that undermine its economy, has difficulties to find its place in this 'new' collective culture of the information era. Our approach will be based on prior interviews to any analysis, to establish a model meso economic IE cell viable in Côte d'Ivoire. On a methodological level, this thesis is structured after a review of the literature, to the selection of a sample of 10 companies of the Ivorian tourism industry in a qualitative approach based on semi-structured interviews. It breaks down into six chapters, offering the go from the general to the particular. These work highlighted the expectations and needs of the actors in a given area in Business Intelligence and lead to a series of actions to achieve for the practice of Business Intelligence in the Ivorian context, within the chosen activity. In replicative logic, this implementation plan can be applied to all the sectors on the basis of the expectations of the actors.

Vorwort

Scheerer, Silke, Curbach, Manfred 21 July 2022 (has links)
from the preface: „As early as 50 years ago, a team of researchers around Donella and Dennis Meadows at MIT showed possible futures of the world economy in a study initiated by the Club of Rome, taking into account the global impact of industrialisation, population growth, malnutrition, exploitation of raw material reserves and destruction of living space. Today – half a century later – these scenarios have lost none of their relevance. On the contrary, they have become more prominent. Topics such as global resource scarcity, climate change, population growth, responsibility and intergenerational fairness in the ecological, economic and social sense are omnipresent today and influence wide areas of our life and work. The principle of sustainability, first formulated in written form by Hans Carl von Carlowitz in 1713, is now part of the vision and philosophy of almost every company and is an essential ingredient of science and education....”

As relações centro-periferia na economia-mundo: formação capitalista periférica e dependência

Camarinha, Isis Campos 10 March 2014 (has links)
Made available in DSpace on 2016-04-26T20:48:40Z (GMT). No. of bitstreams: 1 Isis Campos Camarinha.pdf: 1014918 bytes, checksum: d531ae0f7413604987b03dc6ce19b213 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2014-03-10 / Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico / The general theme of this research is the analysis of the dependent societies through the perspective of the long duration and through the identification of the main contradictions that move on the reproduction of dependency and, along with it, underdevelopment. Having as a theoretical paradigm the concepts of modes of production and social economic formation , passing by the primitive accumulation problematic and, finally, the count of dependency theory, according to Theotônio dos Santos/Marini s conceptions, the thesis of Fernand Braudel and Immanuel Wallerstein establish our Dissertation. Capitalist International relations are divided between core and periphery, as well as capitalism is divided between capital and labor. Hence, peripheral nations present, in opposition to core nations, a kind of development composed by historical and structural contradictions that insert them in dependency state. O objective of this Dissertation is to analyze and identify these contradictions meanwhile discussing also about why dependency achieves concrete-theoretical status, not being merely a scientific-verbal tool.
