This thesis was selected due to establishing of universal platform for USBTMC remote instrumentation and constructing a laboratory DC power supply for hobby use. This thesis is focused on design and realization of regulated linear DC power supply. At first thesis mentions kinds of DC power supplies and kinds of interfaces used for test and measurement instruments. Thesis continues by describing of blocks of a developed linear DC power supply with an USB interface following the USBTMC specification for remote control. Thesis ends by realization of the regulated linear DC power supply with USBTMC interface. It was achieved acceptable results. Communication between PC and Control module works well as same as communication between Control module and Power supply module. Maximum output ranges of voltage and current are 40V and 3A. Big interference on auxiliary supply rail decreases accuracy.

In the thesis the development of two equipment for preparation of ultrathin films under ultrahign vacuum conditions (UHV) is discussed. Here, additionally to a brief description of theoretical principles, more details on the design of these units are given. In the first part the design of a thermal source of oxygen or hydrogen atomic beams is discussed. Further, a design and construction of an ion–atomic beam source for ion-beam assisted deposition of thin films is detailed. The source combines the principles of an efusion cell and electron-impact ion beam source generating ions of (30 – 100) eV energy. The source has been successfully applied for the growth of GaN on the Si(111) 7x7 substrate under room temperature.

Object of the master´s thesis is design of a high voltage power supply for testing insulation materials with output voltage 50 V - 2 kV at fixed frequency 50 Hz. The power supply is controlled by personal computer and measured data are sent back to the personal computer. The Universal Serial Bus (USB) is used for communication between the PC and the device.

The aim of this thesis has been design, construction and application of a flow-through nephelometric detection cell based on photodiode as a sensor and a laser source. The developed device has been tested and its function has been proven on the determination of sulphate by flow injection analysis with nephelometric detection after precipitation by barium chloride. The results achieved were comparable with those obtained by spectrometric detection. The idea of sovereignty of the people offers a concept which allows searching for legitimacy of power. The legitimacy of power is one of the key structures establishing a relation between those who govern and those who are governed. Whether this relation is accepted, acceptable, functional, desirable or undesirable is a matter of finding the very definition of sovereignty of the people as such. The aim of this doctoral thesis, titled The Concept of Sovereignty of the People and the Political Party System in the First Czechoslovak Republic (1918 - 1938) and in the Czech Republic since 1993, is, firstly, to define the concepts of the people, on one hand, and sovereignty, on the other hand, in the historical, political and legal context from the ancient times up to now while reflecting the role of political parties in relation to the sovereignty of the people. Secondly, this thesis aims at exploring and describing the functioning of the party systems in the interwar Czechoslovakia and in the Czech Republic after 1993. Thirdly, this thesis seeks to answer the following questions: who represents the people in liberal democracies which are based on sovereignty of the people; how do the people exercise their power; and what is the role of the political parties in this process.

Diploma thesis "Social Network Facebook in News: Comparison of Space Dedicated to Social Network Facebook and its Content in Czech Media in the Years 2009 and 2011", is dedicated to the way of use and citation of social network Facebook in the selected news media. The paper summarizes the establishment and strengthening of online media, particularly the phenomenon of social networks on the example of social network Facebook, and their influence on the transformation of the media sector, news values and new resources. In analyzing the texts containing the word Facebook in selected periods of 2009 and 2011 the thesis compares the frequency of posts mentioning the term Facebook in the dailies Blesk, Hospodářské noviny and MF Dnes and on the news sites Aktuálně.cz and iDNES.cz. According to the results of the analysis thesis describes the work and changes of work with social network Facebook in the Czech media, including its use as a news source, it evaluates the change of Facebook's status in society Facebook and it mentions the relationship between the posts containing reference to the Facebook and news values. Survey conducted by agency My.cz focused on Czech journalists' approach to social networks including practical use of social networks as news sources is part of the diploma thesis.

The aim of the diploma thesis is to suggest to the management of the newly opened hotel Boby centrum an HR plan of needs of the employees and plan of personnel activities all based on available information and processed analyzes. Partial aim is to propose measures of strategic management of the demand for hotel Boby centrum´s services. There is used available internal work studies and at the same time a quantitative survey to determine the current staffing situation at hotel Boby centrum. There is suggested an increase of employees in the sector front office, housekeeping and catering department due to staffing shortages and positive need for employees. A framework for personnel activities includes recommendations of making an inventory of work positions and related work activities, establishment of a joint enterprise system and regular meetings of staff, developing of training and evaluation system according to established norms and operational objectives and mainly adherence to the statutory working hours and paid leave of employees. After confirming of the trend of seasonality in the hotel environment, it is possible to stimulate demand by using of revenue / yield management technique which is specifically clear segmentation of hotel customers and adapting the marketing mix for their needs, flexible pricing policy and maximum capacity utilization of hotel Boby centrum according to established standards.

The first part briefly defines the theory of the creation of educational materiál. The following chapters describe the history of the fusion welding, the aluminum and its alloys, definitions of basic electrical and welding terminology. Briefly is described health and safety during welding work and fire protection. The following sections describe in detail the hand welding of aluminum and its alloys, method 131 (MIG), welding machines, equipment, protective gases, gas cylinders, pressure reducing valves. Another part is focused on the defects generated during welding of aluminum and its detection and iterpretation. The final part discusses the requirements for qualification of welders.

This thesis aims to hardware and software integration of solid oxide fuel cell into a power generator for truck application. Requirements for individual components are defined, especially for main DC/DC converter which allows charging the battery pack with output from fuel cell. Then suitable components are found on the market and incorporated into hardware layout. Operation strategy with safety concept is proposed and consequently integrated into PLC in LASAL Class 2 environment. This is followed by definition of future work which includes testing and possible changes in components. Result is hardware and software design which allows construction of prove-of-concept prototype.

RNDr. František Gallovič, Ph.D., Department of Geophysics Abstract: Earthquake ground motions originate from rupture processes on faults in Earth. Constraints on earthquake source models are important for better un- derstanding of earthquake physics and for assessment of seismic hazard. The source models are inferred from observed waveforms by inverse modeling, which is subject to uncertainty. For large tectonic earthquakes the major source of un- certainty is an imprecise knowledge of crustal velocity model. The research topic of this Thesis is the influence of the velocity model uncertainty on the inferred source models. We perform Monte-Carlo simulations of Green's functions (GFs) in randomly perturbed velocity models to reveal the effects of the imprecise veloc- ity model on the synthetic waveforms. Based on the knowledge gained, we derive closed-form formulas for approximate covariance functions to obtain fast and effective characterization of the GFs' uncertainty.
