This dissertation aims to understand digital literacy and mother tongue teaching in the student body of the Governador Valadares de Aracaju - SE State School. Above all, with regard to the training of readers and writers in the contextualization of contemporary linguistic studies and their relationship with ICT (Information and Communication Technologies). In addition, we sought to achieve the following specific objectives: a) to analyze the language of a group of students of this school, in whatsapp, correlating to lexical, morphological, syntactic, semantic and discursive-pragmatic phenomena, from their Neologisms, their linguistic variations, their abbreviations, emoticons, onomatopoeia and innovations in general; b) to demonstrate, from hypotheses, why the non-mastering of the standard language by the student body of said school, despite the ability in the digital writing of the Internet. c) to find out, from a students' questionnaire, the places of use, the hours of use, the networks it possesses, the forms of communication, the objectives of use, the most used sources, the activities developed in the virtual space and in the Printed paper, the comments posted, finally the use of whatsapp; d) to verify also how the said school uses the technological resources and if this educational institution develops projects, with respect to the education in general. We present the ideas about the use of digital language and language teaching, based on the theoretical orientations: (MARCUSCHI & XAVIER, 2005) with the digital genres (LÉVY, 1999) with their conceptions about cyberculture; (BAKHTIN, 1997) with the dialogical perspective, (SOARES, 2003)with his modern practices of reading and writing, (BAZHMAN, 2006) presenting writing as an agency, (BORTONI-RICARDO, 2005) with variations of Language in terms of continuum, in the field of Sociolinguistics, among other theoretical references that we use in this research work. / O presente trabalho de dissertação de mestrado tem como objetivo geral compreender o letramento digital e o ensino de língua materna no corpo discente da escola Estadual Governador Valadares de Aracaju - SE. Sobretudo, no que se refere à formação de indivíduos leitores e escritores inseridos na contextualização dos estudos linguísticos contemporâneos e sua relação com as TIC (Tecnologias da Informação e da Comunicação). Além disso, procurou-se atingir os seguintes objetivos específicos: a) analisar a linguagem de um grupo de alunos dessa escola, no whatsapp, correlacionando-a a fenômenos léxicos, morfológicos, sintáticos, semânticos e discursivos-pragmáticos, a partir de seus neologismos, suas variações linguísticas, suas abreviações, emoticons, onomatopeias e inovações em geral; b) demonstrar o porquê do não domínio da língua padrão por parte do corpo discente da referida escola, apesar da habilidade na escrita digital da internet. c) averiguar, a partir de um questionário dos alunos, os locais de uso, as horas de utilização, as redes que possui, as formas de comunicação, os objetivos de utilização, as fontes mais utilizadas, as atividades desenvolvidas no espaço virtual e no papel impresso, os comentários postados, enfim a serventia do whatsapp; d) verificar também como a referida escola utiliza os recursos tecnológicos e se esta instituição educacional desenvolve projetos, no que se refere ao ensino em geral. Apresentamos as ideias acerca do uso da linguagem digital e do ensino de língua, a partir das orientações teóricas: (MARCUSCHI & XAVIER, 2005) com os gêneros digitais (LÉVY, 1999) com suas concepções acerca da cibercultura; (BAKHTIN, 1997) com a perspectiva dialógica, (SOARES, 2003) com suas modernas práticas de leitura e de escrita, (BAZERMAN, 2006) apresentando a escrita como agência, (BORTONI-RICARDO, 2005) com as variações da língua em termos de continuum, no campo da Sociolinguística, dentre outras referências teóricas que usamos neste trabalho de pesquisa. / São Cristóvão, SE
