Vad är musikalitet, musikalisk kunskap och musikaliska färdigheter? I denna studie har jag undersökt musiklärares åsikter på detta område. Har varje elev möjlighet att vara eller bli musikaliska och förvärva dessa färdigheter för att uppnå de lägsta godkända betygen? Amusi är en neurologisk funktionshämning som berör den perceptiva oförmågan att höra och förstå tonhöjd och rytm. Kunskapskraven i styrdokumenten menar att eleverna ska kunna reproducera och härma musikaliska exempel med sin sångröst eller med ett musikinstrument. Om amusi existerar, varierar förmågorna och möjligheterna bland elever i estetiska klasser. Utan antagningsprov eller lämplighetstest, är alla elever är kvalificerade för musikutbildning vid gymnasieskolan. En mångfald av färdigheter och tidigare erfarenheter hos eleverna innebär utmaningar för musiklärare planerar undervisningen. Lärarens mål är att anpassa lektionerna och undervisning för varje elev att kunna tillgodogöra sig den. Eleverna måste ha möjlighet att tillgodogöra sig undervisningen, växa och lära sig under sin tid i skolan, oavsett deras kunskapsnivå och färdigheter. Undervisningsstrategierna bör anpassas med metoder för att göra kunskapskraven möjliga för alla elever att nå. Musikkulturen har starka, konserverande metoder, värderingar och standarder, inte minst vad gäller musikaliskt gehör. Hur traditionerna är påverkar musikkultur är en trampolin i svenska skolans musikutbildning. Lärarens pedagogiska och didaktiska filosofi tillsammans med läroplansteorin visar deras ideologi. Lärarnas ideologier exponeras också i undervisningen. Detta är en eklektisk diskurs om svårigheterna i att lära eleverna "utan musikaliskt gehör", som har rätten att uppnå målen för musikutbildningen i svenska gymnasieskolan. / What is musicality, musical knowledge and musical skills? In this study I have investigated in music teachers’ opinions in this area. Does every pupil have the possibility to be or become musical and acquire these skills to achieve the lowest approved grades? Amusia is a neurologic function inhibition which concerns the perceptive inability to hear and comprehend pitch and rhythm. Requirements in the syllabus suggests that pupils should be able to reproduce and imitate musical samples with their singing voice or a musical instrument. If amusia exist, the abilities and capabilities are varying in the aesthetic classes. Without an admission or suitability test, all pupils are qualified for music education in the Swedish equivalent high school. The diversity of skills and previous knowledge concerning the pupils means challenges for the music teachers planning the teaching. The teacher’s goals are to customize the lessons and the education for every student to utilize. The pupils must have the possibility to utilize the education, grow and learn during their time in school regardless their state of knowledge and skills. The teaching strategies should therefore be customized with methods to make the proficiencies feasible for everyone. The music culture has solid, preservative methods, values and standards, not least in case of musical hearing. How the traditions are encultured in the musical culture is a springboard in school’s music education. The teacher’s educational and didactic philosophy together with the curriculum theory displays their ideology. The teacher’s ideologies are also exposed in the teaching. This is an eclectic discourse about the difficulties in teaching the pupils ”without musical ear”, whom possess the rights to achieve the goals for the music education in the equivalent high school in Sweden.
