Previous issue date: 2014-04-30 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPES / INTRODUCTION: Palliative Care contemplates an approach of physical, social, psychological and spiritual treatment for patients without therapeutic possibilities and their families, in order to improve the quality of their lives. Its application is particularly important in the context of care focused on children with cancer, based on the Humanistic Nursing Theory. OBJECTIVES. To investigate how occurs the dialogical relation between the nurse and the child with cancer under Palliative Care, in light of the Nursing Humanistic Theory. METHODOLOGY: Field research, of qualitative nature, embodied in the Humanistic Nursing Theory, which the investigation scenario was the Support Center for Children with Cancer of Paraíba, located in João Pessoa PB. Participated in the study eleven children six male and five female. Data were collected from June to September 2013. For the production of empirical data it was used the technique of story-drawing. DATA ANALYSIS: Data were categorized and analyzed in light of the Humanistic Nursing Theory, with the following phases: preparation of cognizant nursing to come to the knowledge; the nurse knows intuitively the other; the nurse knows scientifically the other; the nurse complementarily synthetizes the known realities; succession of multiple for the paradoxical unit as internal process of the nurse. Data obtained were categorized in the following thematic categories: feeling of children with cancer: importance of pediatric palliative care; experiences of children during the oncological treatment: importance of pediatric palliative care and its subcategories: the search to minimize the repercussions before the oncological treatment and the faith in God before the situation experienced as power and hope for cure; Situations experienced by children with cancer under Palliative Care searching for diagnosis: importance of the dialogical relation; importance of playingin Pediatric Palliative Care: appreciation of joy, dialogue and company. RESULTS: The study showed the importance of Palliative Care, since the discovery of the disease, to minimize the suffering of children and their families. They highlight the family as force to propel them to face the disease from the faith in God. It was also pointed out that the Institutions of Health and others which form professionals should act jointly in meeting the children and their families; in response to the correct diagnosis and the beginning of the treatment and that playing, through the relation ME-YOU of the nurse with these children, bases on Palliative Care, allowed the development of an authentic therapeutic process. FINAL CONSIDERATIONS: The children surveyed shared a genuine care with the nurse through intersubjective relation between them, which resulted in meeting their necessities in the context of palliative care. This research open new horizons in the field of assistance, teaching and research in nursing, with emphasis in the valorization of dialogical relation between nurse and children with cancer without therapeutic possibilities of cure, grounded in palliative care. It is hoped that this can subsidize new investigation on the thematic, for they are still incipient studies that address interrelationship of Palliative Care with the Humanistic Theory with the children who experience this problem. / INTRODUÇÃO: Os Cuidados Paliativos contemplam uma abordagem de tratamento físico, psicológico, espiritual e social para pacientes sem possibilidades terapêuticas e sua família, visando melhorar a qualidade de sua vida. Sua aplicação é sobremaneira importante, no âmbito do cuidado voltado para crianças com câncer, embasado na Teoria Humanística de Enfermagem. OBJETIVOS: Investigar como ocorre a relação dialógica entre enfermeira e criança com câncer sob Cuidados Paliativos, à luz da Teoria Humanística de Enfermagem. METODOLOGIA: Pesquisa de campo, de natureza qualitativa, consubstanciada na Teoria Humanística de Enfermagem, cujo cenário de investigação foi o Núcleo de Apoio a Crianças com Câncer na Paraíba, localizado em João Pessoa PB. Participaram do trabalho onze crianças - seis do sexo masculino e cinco do feminino. Os dados foram coletados de junho a setembro de 2013. Para a produção do material empírico, utilizou-se a técnica do desenho-estória. ANÁLISE DOS DADOS: Os dados foram categorizados e analisados à luz da Teoria Humanística de Enfermagem, com as seguintes fases: preparação da enfermeira cognoscente para chegar ao conhecimento; a enfermeira conhece intuitivamente o outro; a enfermeira conhece cientificamente o outro; a enfermeira sintetiza complementariamente as realidades conhecidas; sucessão do múltiplo para a unidade paradoxal como processo interno da enfermeira. Os dados obtidos foram categorizados nas seguintes categorias temáticas: sentimentos de crianças com câncer: importância dos Cuidados Paliativos pediátricos; vivências de crianças durante o tratamento oncológico: importância dos Cuidados Paliativos pediátricos e suas subcategorias: a busca por minimizar as repercussões diante do tratamento oncológico e a fé em Deus diante da situação vivenciada como força e esperança de cura; situações vivenciadas por crianças com câncer sob Cuidados Paliativos em busca do diagnóstico: importância da relação dialógica; a importância da brincadeira nos Cuidados Paliativos para a criança com câncer: valorização da alegria, do diálogo e da companhia. RESULTADOS: O estudo mostrou a importância dos Cuidados Paliativos, desde a descoberta da doença, para minimizar o sofrimento das crianças e de suas famílias. Elas destacaram a família como força para impulsioná-las a enfrentar a doença a partir da Fé em Deus. Assinalou também que as Instituições de Saúde e os órgãos que formam profissionais devem atuar conjuntamente no atendimento às crianças e às suas famílias, na resposta do diagnóstico correto e início do tratamento, e que o brincar, mediante a relação EU-TU da enfermeira com essas crianças, fundamentada nos Cuidados Paliativos, possibilitou o desenvolvimento de um processo terapêutico autêntico. CONSIDERAÇÕES FINAIS: As crianças pesquisadas partilharam um cuidar genuíno com a enfermeira, através da relação intersubjetiva entre elas, o que resultou no atendimento às suas necessidades no contexto dos Cuidados Paliativos. Este trabalho abre novos horizontes no campo da assistência, do ensino e da pesquisa em Enfermagem, com ênfase na valorização da relação dialógica entre enfermeira e crianças com câncer sem possibilidades terapêuticas de cura, fundamentado nos Cuidados Paliativos. Espera-se que possa subsidiar novas investigações sobre a temática, porquanto ainda são incipientes estudos que abordem a inter-relação dos Cuidados Paliativos com a Teoria Humanística com as crianças que vivenciam esse problema
