Musik som estetisk uttrycksform kan användas som ämne och metod i förskolans undervisning. Vad? Hur? och Varför? musik ska användas som ämne eller metod i förskolan är upp till förskollärarna att avgöra. Tidigare forskning visar att förskollärare uttryckt en osäkerhet kring sin ämneskunskap inom musik, men att förskollärare stärks genom support av varandra och när de är befriade från krav. Syftet med denna studie är att skapa kunskap om förskollärares didaktiska perspektiv på musik som ämne och metod i förskolan. Som undersökningsmetod valdes kvalitativ forskningsintervju. Eftersom förskollärarnas resonemang var det som eftersöktes använde vi oss av semistrukturerad intervju där 9 förskollärare intervjuats. Materialet har analyserats utifrån Lindströms (2008) modell i, om, med och genom estetiska uttrycksformer, som är den teoretiska utgångspunkten i detta arbete. Resultatet visar att flera av förskollärarnas resonemang kunde kopplas till musik som metod, där förskollärarna ofta kopplade deras aktiviteter och resonemang till olika delmål i läroplanen. Förskollärarna menar att musik kan användas som metod där syftet kan vara för barns språkutveckling, motorikutveckling, utveckling av socialt samspel, samt för barns utvecklade intresse för kultur och traditioner. Resultatet visar också förskollärarnas resonemang kring att musik är mycket mer än en metod, där de menade att det var både en metod och ett ämne med ett eget värde. När förskollärarna intervjuades och besvarade intervjufrågorna gav de flera svar som kunde kopplas till musik som ämne, där flera av resonemangen handlade om instrument, sång och läran om musikens uppbyggnad, samt om känslor och upplevelser. / Music as an aesthetic form of expression can be used as a subject and method in preschool teaching. What? How? and why? whether music should be used as a subject or method in preschool is up to the preschool teachers to decide. Previous research shows that preschool teachers expressed uncertainty about their subject knowledge in music, but that preschool teachers are strengthened through support from each other and when they are freed from demands. The purpose of this study is to create knowledge about preschool teachers' didactic perspective on music as a subject and method in preschool. Qualitative research interview was chosen as the research method. Since the pre-school teachers' reasoning was what was sought, we used a semi-structured interview where 9 pre-school teachers were interviewed. The material has been analyzed based on Lindström's (2008) model in, about, with and through aesthetic forms of expression, which is the theoretical starting point in this work. The results show that several of the preschool teachers' reasoning could be linked to music as a method, where the preschool teachers often linked their activities and reasoning to different sub-goals in the curriculum. The preschool teachers believe that music can be used as a method where the aim can be for children's language development, motor development, development of social interaction, as well as for children's developed interest in culture and traditions. The result also shows the preschool teachers' reasoning about music being much more than a method, where they believed that it was both a method and a subject with its own value. When the pre-school teachers were interviewed and answered the interview questions, they gave several answers that could be connected to music as a subject, where several of the arguments were about instruments, singing and the doctrine of the structure of music, as well as about feelings and experiences.
