Bakgrund: Sjuksköterskor spenderar mycket av sin arbetstid med dokumentation och samordning med andra vårdinstanser. Omfattande information om komplexa resurskrävande patienter är en nyckelfaktor för ett säkert överlämnande mellan avdelningar och sjuksköterskor. Dokumentationsarbetet sker nästan uteslutande i IT-baserade miljöer. Detta är relevant att undersöka för att kunna förbättra sjuksköterskors psykosociala arbetsmiljö inom ramen för dokumentation. Syfte: Belysa sjuksköterskors upplevelser av det administrativa arbetet i omvårdnaden. Metod: En litteraturöversikt. Resultat: Ur analysen framkom tre huvudkategorier; Arbetsplatsens betydelse för upplevelsen av administrativt arbete, Dokumentation upplevs bra om den innebär direkt nytta eller förändring för patienten, IT-systemens betydelse för upplevelsen av administrativt arbete samt sex underkategorier. Slutsats: Sjuksköterskors upplevelser av administrativt arbete varierar. Skillnaderna beror på arbetsplats, datorsystem och patienter. Dokumentation i sig själv kan påverka upplevelsen av arbetsmiljön. Upplevs dokumentationen direkt gynna patientens möjligheter till hälsa och välbefinnande, upplevs även arbetsinsatsen mindre betungande. Krångliga IT-system kan innebära repetitiv dokumentering, vilket höjer arbetsbelastningen i form av ökad tidsåtgång. Detta påverkar den psykosociala och fysiska arbetsmiljön i och med att sjuksköterskan spenderar tid dokumenterandes i stället för att arbeta patientnära. Dokumentation är en viktig del av omvårdnaden och behöver vara så utan att hindra i sjuksköterske- och patientrelationen. / Background: Nurses spend time working with documentation and coordination with other care agencies. Comprehensive information about complex resource-intensive patients is a key factor for a secure transfer between departments and nurses. The documentation work takes place almost exclusively in IT-based environments. It is relevant to investigate as there can be improvement in the nurses' psychosocial work environment within the framework of documentation. Purpose: To shed light on nurses' experiences of the administrative work in nursing. Method: A literature review. Results: The analysis revealed three main categories; The importance of the workplace for the experience of administrative work, Documentation is experienced well if it makes direct benefit or change for the patient, IT systems significance for the experience of administrative work and six subcategories. Conclusion: Nurses’ experiences of administrative work vary. The differences depend on the workplace, computer systems and patients. Documentation can affect the experience of the work environment. If the documentation directly benefits the patient’s opportunities for health and wellbeing, the work effort is also perceived as less burdensome. Complicated IT systems can involve repetitive documentation, which increases the workload in form of increased time. This affects the psychosocial and physical work environment as the nurse spends time documenting instead of working close to the patient. Documentation is an important part of nursing and needs to be so without hindering the nurse and patient relationship.
