Bakgrund: Vilka professioner som ingår i ett traumateam varierar från sjukhus till sjukhus och beror på traumapatientens skadebild. Nationella traumalarmskriterier används på alla akutsjukhus i Sverige men de lokala rutinerna liksom personalens roller vid omhändertagandet kan skilja sig åt. I intensivvårdssjuksköterskans kompetens ingår att skapa kontinuitet för patienten genom samarbete och kommunikation med övriga professioner. Syfte: Syftet med denna intervjustudie var att beskriva intensivvårdssjuksköterskans upplevelse av att vara en del av traumateamet. Metod: En intervjustudie med kvalitativ design genomfördes. Semistrukturerade intervjuer användes för datainsamling och materialet bearbetades sedan genom induktiv innehållsanalys. Resultat: Den helhetsbild av patienten som intensivvårdssjuksköterskorna fick genom sin medverkan vid det initiala omhändertagandet sågs som positiv. De uppskattade kontinuiteten och möjligheten till förberedelse det gav i vårdandet av patienten. Samarbetet i traumateamet ansågs viktigt och underlättades av rutinerad personal och en bra teamledare. Intensivvårdssjuksköterskorna upplevde blandade känslor av trygghet, lättnad, stress och nervositet i samband med traumaomhändertagande. Slutsats: Studien identifierade olika upplevelser hos intensivvårdssjuksköterskorna vid medverkan i traumateamet. De ansåg att det mestadels var en fördel att vara med redan från det initiala omhändertagandet och att aspekter som teamarbete, rutin, rätt person på rätt plats och kommunikation inom teamet var viktiga. Studien skulle kunna bidra till optimering av traumavården genom vidareutveckling av kliniska rutiner vilket i förlängningen främjar patientens hälsa och minskar lidande. / Background: The professions that are included in a trauma team varies from hospital to hospital and depends on the trauma patient's injury. National trauma alarm criteria are used in all emergency hospitals in Sweden, but the local routines as well as the staff's roles in the care may differ. The intensive care nurse's competence includes creating continuity for the patient through collaboration and communication with other professions. Aim: The aim of this interview study was to describe the intensive care nurse's experience of being part of the trauma team. Method: An interview study with qualitative design was conducted. Semi-structured interviews were used for data collection and the material was then processed through inductive content analysis. Results: The overall picture of the patient the intensive care nurses experienced that they got through participation in the initial care was seen as positive. They appreciated the continuity and the opportunity for preparation it provided in the care of the patient. The collaboration in the trauma team was considered important and was facilitated by experienced staff and a good team leader. The intensive care nurses experienced mixed feelings of security, relief, stress and nervousness connected to trauma care. Conclusion: The study identified different experiences of the intensive care nurses when participating in the trauma team. They felt that it was mostly an advantage to be involved from the initial care and that aspects such as teamwork, routine, the right person in the right place and communication within the team were important. The study could contribute to the optimization of trauma care through further development of clinical routines, which in the long run promotes the patient's health and reduces suffering.
