Idrott som inkluderingsplattform : En kvalitativ studie om inkludering och integration inom idrotten. / Sports as an inclusion platform : A qualitative study on inclusion and integration in sports.

Over the past few years, more than 40,000 refugee children have come to Sweden. In Sweden, they are placed in different municipalities to familiarize themselves with the new environment. Here, sport could be of great help in terms of young people's acclimatization to the new environment.   The purpose of this study was to find out how sports associations in Sweden work with integration and inclusion issues. How leaders from these sports associations work on the issues in practice and how the young people who have recently come to Sweden experience the work of sports associations.   The method used in the study was qualitative and the material was collected through interviews. A total of four interviews and two group interviews were conducted. The participants were two members of the board, two leaders and six young people who recently came to Sweden. The conclusion was that sport can play a major role in the acclimatization of refugee children and adolescents to society.
