Bakgrund: Studien bygger på ett genuint intresse för friluftsliv och fysisk aktivitet. Man har på regeringsnivå en funktionshinderpolitik som har sin utgångspunkt i Sveriges internationella åtaganden om mänskliga rättigheter där man menar att människors olika behov och förutsättningar inte ska avgöra möjligheten till delaktighet. Syfte: Syftet med studien var att kartlägga möjligheter och tillgänglighet för rullstolsburna att utöva friluftsliv i ljuset av kommunal planering och åtgärder, samt kartlägga tillgång och tillgänglighet av information kring dessa möjligheter. Metod: En kvalitativ metod användes i form av en enkätstudie där ett frågeformulär skickades ut till politiker och tjänstemän i Kalmar läns 12 kommuner. Frågeformuläret var uppbyggt för att besvara frågor kring hur är tillgängligheten till friluftslivet ser ut idag, hur möjligheterna ser ut för en person med funktionsnedsättning att utöva friluftsliv på ett självständigt sätt samt var man i kommunerna delgett för information kring tillgängligheten till friluftslivet. Resultat: Resultatet visar en tvetydighet då flera konstaterar att man inte gör tillräckligt eller att man inte vet tillräckligt kring ämnet. Av resultatet kan också utläsas att det finns ett intresse och en ambition att jobba vidare med dessa frågor. Dessutom är informationen om tillgängligheten till friluftslivet bristfällig. Slutsats: En slutsats att dra från genomförd studie är att det är många fall i kommunerna finns en ambition för att utveckla och förbättra friluftslivet för att göra det tillgängligt för alla, ambition finns också att förbättra informationen kring möjligheterna för ett tillgängligt friluftsliv. / The study is based on a genuine interest in outdoor life and physical activity. At a government level, there is a disability policy that is based om Sweden´s international commitments on human rights, where it is believed that peoples different needs and conditions should not determine the possibility of participation. The purpose of the study was to map opportunities and accessibility for wheelchair users to exercise outdoor life in the light of municipal planning and measures, and also to map the availability of information about these opportunities. A qualitative method was used in the form of an interview study where a questionnaire was sent out to politicians and officials in Kalmar County´s twelve municipalities. The questionnaire was structures with questions about what the municipalities do to enable an independent and accessible outdoor life for the disabled, but also what the municipalities provide for information about what the accessibility to outdoor life looks like. The result shows an ambiguity as many state that they do not do enough or that they do not know. From the results it can also be deduced that there is an interest and an ambition to continue working with accessibility to outdoor life for the disabled. In addition, it can be stated that the information on accessibility to outdoor life is deficient. One conclusion that can be drawn from the study is that in many cases there is an ambition to develop and improve outdoor life to make it accessible for everyone, there is also an ambition to improve the information about accessible outdoor life.
