The purpose of the study was to analyse how juveniles who were charged with and/or convicted of crimes were presented in The Care of Young Persons (Special Provisions) Act (LVU) -judgments, from a gender perspective. Fairclough's critical discourse analysis was used to answer the research questions. The theoretical foundation consisted of social constructionism, Fairclough’s critical discourse analysis and Hirdman’s theory about gender systems. The main result of the study showed differences in how the juveniles were described and presented based on gender discourses. Girls were described as vulnerable and in need of protection and support. Boys were described as aggressive and threatening. Two discourses were found, the victims discourse - focusing on girls as victims of their situation and actions, and the perpetrators discourse - focusing on boys as responsible for their own situation and actions. The discourses showed societal power structures that could maintain a hierarchy between the genders, where boys are superior. / Studiens syfte var att undersöka hur unga som begått och/eller misstänks för brott framställdes i LVU-domar utifrån ett genusperspektiv. Faircloughs kritiska diskursanalys användes som metod för att besvara studiens frågeställningar. De teorier som användes i studien var socialkonstruktivism, Faircloughs kritisk diskursanalys och Hirdmans genussystemteori. Huvudresultatet i studien visade skillnader i hur de unga beskrevs och framställdes utifrån gennusdiskurser. Flickor beskrevs som utsatta, sårbara och i behov av skydd och stöd. Pojkar beskrevs som aggressiva och hotfulla. Två diskurser synliggjordes, offerdiskursen - fokus på flickor som offer för sin situation handlingar och förövardiskursen - fokus på pojkar som ansvariga för sin egen situation och handlingar. Diskurserna synliggjorde samhälleliga maktstrukturer som kan diskuteras upprätthåller en hierarki mellan könen, där pojkar står överst.
