Nesta dissertação de mestrado, discuto processos de produção de masculinidades e feminilidades juvenis em articulação com violências de gênero. A partir das teorizações dos estudos culturais e de gênero, busco compreender que representações de masculinidades, feminilidades e violências estão imbricadas nas posições de sujeito que jovens ocupam quando falam sobre violências de gênero, num tempo de sua nomeação e visibilidade. O trabalho de campo envolveu a realização de grupos focais com jovens informantes que frequentam uma turma de primeiro ano do Ensino Médio de uma escola municipal, na cidade de Bento Gonçalves, interior do Rio Grande do Sul. Os textos gerados pela transcrição das discussões realizadas nos grupos focais foram examinados na perspectiva da análise cultural. Evidencia-se, com esta análise, que a ênfase dada em nossa cultura para a marcação da diferença de gênero acaba por produzir normas de comportamentos que contribuem tanto para reproduzir quanto para modificar identidades de gênero. É com o intuito de problematizar e colocar sob suspeita as naturalizações de masculinidades e feminilidades que as naturalizações são apresentadas e discutidas. As análises permitem, também, delinear flexibilizações nos modos de ser e de viver o gênero, destacando-se modificações mais visíveis nas construções de feminilidades juvenis, o que envolve deslocamentos nas relações de poder entre os gêneros. Aponto para a possível articulação das construções de masculinidades e feminilidades com relações de violências de gênero, e também para as relações de poder entre os gêneros. Por último, pondero que o uso alargado do termo violências de gênero pode, além de banalizar o termo e a situação de dominação, judicializar as relações, dando pouco espaço para atividades de caráter preventivo, que são importantes para modificar tais relações. / In this Master’s thesis, I discuss the production processes of youth masculinity and femininity in conjunction with gender violence. From the theories of cultural and gender studies, I intend to understand which representations of masculinity, femininity and violence are embedded in subject positions that youngsters occupy when they talk about gender violence, in a time of its nomination and visibility. Field work involved conducting focus groups with young reporters who study at a High School first year class of a municipal school, in the city of Bento Gonçalves, Rio Grande do Sul. The texts generated by the transcription of focus group’s discussions were examined from the perspective of cultural analysis. It becomes evident, with this analysis, that our culture’s emphasis for the gender difference turns out to produce behavior standards that contribute to reproduce and also modify gender identities. Aiming to question and impugning the naturalization of masculinity and femininity these naturalizations are presented and discussed. The analysis also allows shaping flexibilities in the ways of being and living gender, highlighting the most visible changes in the constructions of youthful femininity, which involves shifts in power relations between genders. I point out to the possible connection of the constructions of masculinity and femininity in gender violence relations, and also to the power relations between genders. Finally, I ponder that the widespread use of the term gender violence can – in addition to trivialize the term and the domination condition – judicialize relations, giving little room for preventive activities that are important to modify these relationships.
