”Högläsning en lugn stund med fokus på språkutveckling” : En studie om förskollärares uppfattningar om och arbete med högläsning / “Reading aloud for a quiet moment with a focus on language development” : A study about preschool teachers beleifs about and work with reading aloud

This study examines the preschool teachers’ perceptions about reading aloud and its significance. The method I used is interviews with six legitimized preschool teachers that were interviewed private and the material has been analyzed with qualitative content analysis. In the result the importance of reading aloud to develop the child’s speech emerges. The educators in this study describes important aspects that concern the organization of reading aloud in the activities so that children receive the stimulus required for good and developing reading times. The result of the study shows that educators working with a speech developing way when reading aloud occur, where the educators emphasizes the importance of communication and reflect together. The educators express that vocal pitch and body language is an important part for the children to gain an understanding of the book´s content in an exciting and stimulating way. Everyone mentions that the physical book today can be supplemented with the tablet and the app “polyglutt”. The educators are positive about “polyglutt” and they believe that it both facilitates and enhances the experience in reading aloud situations.
