En la presente tesis se analiza el problema torsional extremo de un edificio en esquina de cuatro pisos y un semisótano. Los edificios en esquinas comúnmente presentan un diseño arquitectónico comercial, que aprovecha el perímetro colindante con la calle para poner ventanas y mamparas. Sin embargo, este diseño arquitectónico no toma en cuenta irregularidades estructurales. Una de las irregularidades es la torsional. La torsión es consecuencia de las excentricidades entre el Centro de Masa (CM) y el Centro de Rigidez (CR) en ambos ejes. Para la presente tesis se plantea la siguiente hipótesis: “El caso en estudio presenta irregularidad torsional extrema dada su arquitectura y su ubicación en esquina. Esta irregularidad no está permitida según Norma en Edificaciones categoría “C” y con zonificación 4, por lo que se deberá aumentar la rigidez en zonas críticas. Esta rigidez no depende del incremento de gran longitud de placas sino de su espesor y su ubicación dentro de la estructuración, para su demostración se proponen cinco modelos que se analizan sísmicamente empleando la Norma Técnica E030-2016 teniendo como punto de partida, los planos de arquitectura y una estructuración base; para luego escoger uno de los cinco modelos y realizar el correspondiente diseño estructural de todos los elementos de la edificación”. Además, la tesis tiene como valor añadido el análisis torsional bajo tres normas técnicas de Sismoresistencia de los años 2003, 2016 y 2018, con el objetivo de encontrar diferencias sustanciales entre ellas. Además, se plantea realizar el respectivo análisis Tiempo-Historia del modelo solución. / In this thesis the extreme torsional problem of a four-story corner building and a basement is analyzed. The buildings in controlled corners have a commercial architectural design, which takes advantage of the perimeter adjacent to the street to put windows and screens. El Acuario y Centro de Investigación Marina es un proyecto innovador cuyo propósito es mostrar y enseñar sobre la vida marina peruana e internacional. Una intervención como esta es única y culturalmente necesaria ya que nuestro país no cuenta con la infraestructura adecuada para exhibir nuestra fauna marina. Además, educa y promueve la idea del cuidado de nuestros mares. Por este motivo cuenta con varios espacios educativos e interactivos para toda edad. Este proyecto interviene en la Costa Verde, en un terreno desolado con mucha promesa ya que situado aquí seria el catalizador de proyectos urbanos públicos. El diseño del acuario no toma jerarquía sobre el terreno o su contexto, más bien aporta espacios públicos para todo usuario. El acuario está diseñado para ser visiblemente impactante y didáctico para el visitante, rodeándote de las especies marinas en el túnel transparente o visitado las piscinas de agua salada que viene directamente del mar. En conclusión, este proyecto tiene la función de enriquecer culturalmente a todos aquellos que lo visiten, mientras trata de revivir y equipar un espacio olvidado de las playas de la Costa Verde. / The Aquarium and Marine Research Center is an innovative project whose purpose is to show and teach about Peruvian and international marine life. An architectural intervention like this is unique and culturally necessary because our country doesn’t count with an adequate infrastructure to exhibit our marine life. Also, it teaches and promotes the idea of taking care our oceans, rivers, etc. Because of this the aquarium has lots of educational and interactive areas for all ages. This project is located at Costa Verde, in an abandoned terrain with a lot of promise because it could be the catalyst of a public urban project. The aquarium design doesn’t take hierarchy over the terrain or its context, it provides public spaces for all users. Its designed to be visually impactful and didactic for the visitor, surrounding you in marine species in the transparent tunnel or by visiting the sea water pools that uses ocean water coming directly from the ocean. In conclusion, the project has the roll of culturally enriching everyone that visits it, while it tries to revive and equip a forgotten space in the Costa Verde’s beaches. / Tesis

El proyecto de tesis, en cuestión, consiste en un complejo vitivinícola y turístico ubicado en el valle de Cañete, en Lunahuaná. El objetivo del proyecto es el de responder a una falta de equipamiento moderno que contemple las últimas tendencias en la arquitectura de bodegas vitivinícolas y hoteles en zonas rurales como la del valle. Este proyecto responde a esta falta debido a que en el Perú existe un reconocimiento por nuestra bebida bandera del Pisco, pero esto no se ve reflejado en la infraestructura existente. Es por ello que se realiza esta investigación a través de motivaciones e intenciones, problemáticas actuales, énfasis en conceptos y teorías arquitectónicas, historia de la tipología arquitectónica, análisis y comparación con proyectos referenciales, análisis y selección del mejor terreno; y todo el análisis y cálculo de los usuarios que intervendrán, como de los ambientes necesarios que contemplará el proyecto. Con toda esta investigación y análisis de información, se procedió a generar una propuesta arquitectónica ubicada en el terreno seleccionado, que pudiera responder a tales problemáticas y motivaciones analizadas anteriormente para lograr un proyecto de arquitectura completo. / The thesis project, in question, consists of a wine and tourism complex located in the Cañete Valley, in Lunahuaná. The objective of the project is to respond to a lack of modern equipment that contemplates the latest trends in the architecture of wine cellars and hotels in rural areas such as the valley. This project responds to this lack due to the fact that in Peru there is recognition for our drinking flag of El Pisco, but this is not reflected in the existing infrastructure. That is why this research is carried out through motivations and intentions, current problems, emphasis on architectural concepts and theories, history of its architectural typology, analysis and comparison with referential projects, analysis and selection of the best terrain; and all the analysis and calculation of the users that will intervene, as well as the necessary environments that the project will contemplate. With all this research and information analysis, we proceeded to generate an architectural proposal located on the selected land, which could respond to such problems and motivations discussed above to achieve a complete architecture project. / Tesis

El museo es un equipamiento de difusión cultural, el cual ayuda al desarrollo de la zona donde se ubica, debido al impacto cultural, social, y arquitectónico que genera. Al plantear esta tipología la ciudad tendrá un hito donde se preservará la cultura y costumbres de la zona. En este caso, el tipo de museo que se propone es uno de carácter regional dedicado a la Arqueología y Antropología. De este modo, se pondrá en exposición el estilo de vida y cosmovisión de las culturas prehispánicas que habitaron toda la zona del norte chico, así mismo: la cerámica, restos humanos y el tipo de arquitectura; que son testimonio de lo antes mencionado. La expansión de la cuidad sin un plan de desarrollo adecuado afecta estas zonas arqueológicas. Además, la poca información con la que cuenta la población, falta de difusión y puesta en valor, hacen que las zonas arqueológicas sean invadidas, saqueadas, y destruidas. En otros casos son usadas como zonas de cultivo o han sido dinamitadas y destruidas para próximas construcciones; como ejemplo tenemos el caso de Vichama que hasta hace unos años estaba cubierta de basura, sin embargo, se logró recuperarla y está en proceso de restauración. Por todo lo antes mencionado se plantea la creación de un museo para esta zona, se tomará en cuenta proyectos referenciales para el estudio del funcionamiento de la tipología mencionada. También, se obtendrá la información sobre el significado y aplicación del énfasis en la arquitectura cumpliendo con la normativa nacional e internacional. / The museum is an equipment of cultural diffusion, which helps the development of the area where it is located, due to the cultural, social and architectural impact it generates. El proyecto se planteó con el objetivo de dar a conocer la cultura e historia de la Ciudad de Barranca, muchas personas relacionan Barranca con La ciudad de Caral, sin saber la riqueza cultural que la Provincia presenta, teniendo 24 asentamientos arqueológicos bordeando los ríos que cruzan los 5 distritos, Paramonga, Pativilca, Barranca, Supe Puerto y Supe Pueblo, siendo el último el que cuenta con más zonas arqueológicas en su eje y presentando como protagonista Caral. Al proyectar un Centro de Interpretación y Difusión Arqueológica, no solo se está dando a conocer la historia del lugar, con la Sala fotográfica o las Salas de exposiciones, también se está difundiendo la importancia de la Provincia a los mismos ciudadanos, con talleres de capacitación, teóricos y lúdicos, para que los niños se forjen desde pequeños con otra perspectiva. A dar a conocer los 24 asentamientos se incrementaría el turismo interno y externo, es por ello que la ubicación del Centro, se encuentra el ingreso de la ciudad de Barranca, por su buena accesibilidad, ya que colinda con la Panamericana Norte y la cercanía de los paraderos de buses, que servirían de transporte a las zonas arqueológicas. El punto es crear un hito en la Ciudad, haciendo que el Centro se sienta como una gran ruina arqueológica, la textura, el color, las plazas hundidas, la volumetría, los vacíos y llenos, recreando una arquitectura Precolombina, haciendo que sirva de referencia para las zonas aledañas sin construirse, fomentando la creación de un Polo Cultural. / The project aims to spread the culture and history of the City of Barranca. El presente proyecto propone la construcción de una infraestructura cultural, hospitalaria y turística, que conformarían un Complejo eco turístico ubicado en la ciudad de Paracas. La infraestructura cultural consta de un Centro de Interpretación de la biodiversidad marina de Paracas destinado a la promoción del cuidado y conservación de la misma. La infraestructura hospitalaria comprende un hotel ecológico el cual propone prolongar la estancia de los visitantes a la zona de Paracas emplazado dentro de un habitad natural que permitirá la contemplación de la naturaleza logrando una conexión del usuario con el paisaje. Es importante señalar el sistema constructivo del Complejo Eco turístico el cual propone una introducción dentro del ámbito arquitectónico y constructivo de la Guadua, la cual es una especie de bambú que abunda en la zona. Se propone este material como versátil y confiable en la construcción, la idea es promover este sistema constructivo que viene siendo una tendencia a nivel mundial por su carácter eco sostenible y a que además visualmente aporta muchos atributos al diseño sobre todo en áreas naturales como en la que se emplazara el proyecto. / This project proposes making cultural and a hospitality building, which would form an eco-tourism complex located in the city of Paracas.  The cultural infrastructure, which is an Interpretation Center, is dedicated to Paracas Marine Biodiversity designed to promote the care and conservation of it. The hospitality infrastructure includes an ecological hotel which proposes to extend the stay of visitors in this area making a connection between the user and the nature. It is important to mention the constructive system of the Eco Tourist Complex this proposes an introduction inside the architectural and the construction of the guadua, which is a species of bamboo that abounds in the area. This material is proposed as versatile and reliable in the construction, the idea is to promote this constructive system that has been a worldwide trend. It’s based on an eco-sustainable construction which make less damaged to the nature. Also this system contribute visually brings many attributes to the design especially in a project located in a natural area like this. / Tesis

Esta tesis propone un Museo Marino en el Callao, basado en el potencial de difusión de la cultura biológica y marina del Perú. La justificación para implementar un museo marino tiene como elemento principal la capacidad de esta tipología para transmitir cultura, y a través de esta, reintegrar a una comunidad con su pasado histórico. Creando un vínculo de los usuarios de la comunidad con la ciudad en la que se desarrollan, generando un impacto social positivo dentro del rango de acción del museo. Sin embargo, no se limita a actuar en el ámbito cultural-social de los usuarios que recibe, ya que, gracias a la escala en la que funciona y los usos que reúne esta tipología, es capaz de generar un polo turístico con impacto económico para la región en la que sea ubicado. El lugar elegido para el emplazamiento del Museo Marino es el Callao. Esta ubicación se ha elegido debido a 4 factores: su geografía a 0 msnm, la identidad de los ciudadanos chalacos que los relaciona con las actividades marinas, el potencial turístico del Callao, y la concentración de actividades relacionadas al oficio del mar en el mencionado puerto. Otro punto importante es la presencia del centro histórico, el cual complementa el carácter cultural del museo, proponiendo a futuro una regeneración turística y cultural en este sector del Callao. / This thesis proposes a Marine Museum in Callao, based on the potential for spreading the biological and marine culture of Peru. The justification for a marine museum has as its main element the ability of this typology to transmit culture. And through this ability reintegrate a community with its historical past. Creating a link between the users of the community and the city in which it is located, generating a positive social impact within the museum's range of action. El Hospital Geriátrico, busca ser un modelo de hospital que satisfaga y atienda íntegramente las necesidades de las personas adultas mayores, esto debido a que en la actualidad los hospitales a nivel nacional no cuentan con el sistema de atención dirigido a este tipo de la población. Los hospitales geriátricos existentes, no cuentan con la categorización adecuada, ni con el equipamiento necesario para brindar una buena atención. Por otro lado existen centros de día y centros de rehabilitación que atienden al adulto mayor, pero estos tienen deficiencias ya que han sido adecuados de construcciones ya existentes. Hay que tener en cuenta que la población adulta mayor necesita un cuidado especializado e íntegro, por lo cual es importantísimo que sea atendido por un médico geriatra, que lo derive a las áreas correspondientes. El hospital, será público, permitiendo así que una mayor cantidad de adultos sean atendidos. El estar situado en la cuidad, se propone como reto arquitectónico que el hospital sea una edificación que tenga relación con el espacio urbano, generando así espacios integradores que pueden ayudar a la rehabilitación de los pacientes, sin dejar de lado la seguridad y privacidad que necesita el mismo. / The Geriatric Hospital, seeks to be a model of hospital that fully meets and meets the needs of older adults, this because currently hospitals nationwide do not have the system of care for this type of population. Architecture and engineering are two professions whose concerns are often contradictory and in conflict. This situation has sometimes impaired the professions in responding to the client's needs. The encouragement of a commonality of concerns could act to enrich the quality of each profession's work. The origins of the problem lie in the past attitudes, social roles, and training of designers. These aspects were a response to past social stimuli and have continued to today. While an alteration of social roles would be problemmatic, the training process and attitudes of the professions are possible grounds for change. Educational institutions could play a major role in this redirection of concerns. A need for encouraging commonality of concerns lies in the designer's potential role in addressing environmental issues. The relationship between the built enviornment and life-style could be utilized in encouraging a more environmentally conscious society. This goal could be reaiized if architects and engineers understood the strength of design protentialities afforded by a commonality of concerns. / Master of Architecture

This thesis is concerned with the training of competent architects, designers, and artists. The need for artistically creative people has never been as urgent as it is today. A searching review is made of the philosophy of design education. The views of many of the leaders in architecture and other arts are considered in relation to the training of young men and women in the various creative fields. The philosophy of education at the School of Design has been formulated from these and the writer's personal opinions. The various departments of the school and the complete physical requirements for each are decided upon and these decisions are expressed in the design program. The planning of the buildings and setting necessary to provide the tools, space, and inspiration for the students of design is the epitome of this thesis. It is proposed that the student do a major portion of the construction of the school. A schedule is suggested to achieve the completion of the master plan over a period of years. Such a School of Design will include the present Virginia Polytechnic Institute Architectural Department and the additional facilities needed for training and research in allied fields. The school will be associated with Virginia Polytechnic Institute, but will be an administrative entity in itself. An institution of this type will theoretically parallel in the creative field the rapid advancement now being made in the South in such other fields as scientific research, industrial development, and agricultural methods. / Master of Science
