Role EUNIC v kulturní diplomacii malých států: případ České republiky / The role of EUNIC in small states'cultural diplomacy: the case of Czech Republic

Ondráčková, Natálie January 2020 (has links)
Small states have limited possibilities in promoting their own interests internationally due to their limited resources. They therefore use certain strategies to help them achieve their foreign policy objectives. This thesis deals with cooperative strategies in cultural diplomacy, as it often becomes a tool of small states for enhancing its visibility. But even in this environment, they face competition from stronger, larger states. Do small states use cooperative strategies in cultural diplomacy? And if so, how? The issue is examined in more detail on the case of the Czech Republic's participation in the association of EUNIC (European Union National Institutes of Culture), which represents a platform for cooperation of cultural diplomacy actors from the EU Member States. The Czech Republic is represented in the structures of EUNIC by the Czech Centers. The research of this thesis focuses specifically on the opportunities to strengthen the influence of small states in the international field, which EUNIC offers to the members. It focuses also on what motivations and risks are associated with cooperation. Through the methods of interviews, content analysis and quantitative data analysis the thesis describes activity of the Czech Republic as a representative of small state in the EUNIC network in...

[en] ASSESSMENT OF FACTORS AND COLLABORATIVE STRATEGIES THAT IMPACT FOREST RESTORATIONS CHAINS IN ATLANTIC RAINFOREST PRIVATE LANDS / [pt] AVALIAÇÃO DOS FATORES E ESTRATÉGIAS COLABORATIVAS QUE IMPACTAM CADEIAS DE RESTAURAÇÃO FLORESTAL EM ÁREAS PRIVADAS NA MATA ATLÂNTICA

FERNANDA RESENDE DE SOUZA CARDOSO 11 February 2021 (has links)
[en] Brazil assumed in The Paris Agreement the commitment of 12 million hectares of forests restored by 2030, of which 5 million will occur in the Atlantic Rainforest. However, most of the remaining forest areas are located in private lands and there are a number of factors that difficult the adoption of restoration by landowners. The objective of this research was to identify and evaluate the collaborative strategies that used by the main participants of the forest restoration chains in the Atlantic Rainforest in the State of Rio de Janeiro, with the purpose to overcome barriers, take advantage of successful opportunities of these projects and achieve the region s economic, environmental and social sustainability. A descriptive research was carried out with a qualitative approach, based on in-depth interviews with specialists and chains participants and data collected in documents and restoration projects websites. The main barriers encountered include: logistical difficulties in the network; lack of qualified labor; low demand for restoration projects; lack of implementation of legislation; difficulties in integrating private and public efforts; poor communication between local actors; discussion setbacks related to the importance of biodiversity conservation. The most important collaborative strategies were identified (cooperatives, formal and informal networks, participation in Councils) and their effectiveness assessed. Recommendations were made to improve current strategies and adopt new collaborative strategies in order to contribute, with other economic and regulatory initiatives, to overcoming barriers.

Larsson, Jesper, Rosberg, Lova, Rashed, Eiman January 2023 (has links)
The purpose of this degree project is to investigate which teaching methods are used by Swedish teachers in primary school classrooms to develop the students' reading comprehension in the subject of Swedish, but also how and why the teachers use these particular methods. This survey is based on responses received from questionnaires sent out (see appendix 2). These questionnaires consisted of ten questions and were sent out to four active teachers around Sweden. The degree project is based on the socio-cultural perspective where discussion and interaction in pairs, as well as support, are central parts. The analysis part of this study has used a thematic analysis which resulted in different main themes. The main themes covered are the following: The circle model, Cooperative strategies and adaptations. In these themes, it appears that teachers use a variety of methods in teaching reading comprehension. These methods contain student-active exercises where the students develop their reading comprehension together with the teacher. The results section also shows how the teachers use these methods.
