This diploma thesis solves a new residential house in Litovel in the cadastral area town Litovel (685909) on plot 725/9. The building is situated in the outskirts of built-up. Plan view of the object is I-shaped with dimensions of 43.01 x 26.26 m. The building consists of four floors and cellar floor. In the cellar floor there are collective garage, cellar, boiler room, club room, toilet and access corridor following the staircase space. On the first floor of the multifunctional part building there are two shops and a hairdresser´s, which have individual entrances. The main entrance to the living part of the house is consists by storm lobby. On the leeward continues vestibule and staircase space with a lift shaft. The main corridor following to individual apartments in each floor lead on the staircase space. The building is based on a reinforced concrete base. Vertical construction and horizontal construction are made from the system HELUZ. Roof construction are flat and have a gradient of 3%.

Conceptualizing an automated sorting system for the recycling of plastic-floors

Background Tarkett AB Ronneby (Sweden) is a flooring solutions company, recognized for the manufacturing and recycling of homogeneous plastic flooring. Tarkett AB recycles mainly installation spill and manufacturing defects. However, Tarkett AB is considering widening its recycling capabilities to include old and torn plastic floors which may contain impurities and banned substances or plastic floors of competing brands. To accomplish this, Tarkett is considering a completely new recycling line with an automated sorting process instead of the current manual process. Thus, Tarkett proposes a dissertation to conceptualize a new automated sorting system with added capacity and increased functionality. Purpose This work aims to investigate the current sorting process and introduce conceptual solutions for a new automated sorting process capable of identifying and separating plastic floors according to the manufacturer, type, condition, and external waste by using existing technology. Method The methods and tools used in this work are mainly based on a modified product development process. Starting with data collection of the current sorting process, performing a need-finding, and extracting requirements for an automated sorting process, investigating relevant technology, evaluating technology based on scientific literature and tests. The testing was conducted in collaboration with two companies. Near-infrared scanners were tested with Holger AB, while pattern recognition systems were tested with Vision-Geek. Finally, three concepts for the automated sorting process were developed and shown through flow charts and 2D-3D illustrations. Results The results of this work showed that it was possible to use near-infrared and pattern recognition for the separation of plastic floors. Besides, three conceptual solutions for an automated sorting process were generated and showcased with schematic graphs and 2D-3D illustrations. The concepts describe how the sorting process functions and what technology is used for each step of the process. Concept 1 and Concept 2 used both pattern recognition and spectroscopy methods. While Concept 3 only used spectroscopy methods. Moreover, spectroscopy methods were used to sort plastic floors by content while pattern recognition by appearance. Conclusions Recycling of torn and old plastic flooring can be beneficial for both the environment and the recycling industry. Yet, it presents some challenges relating to reliable, fast, and nondestructive identification for sorting and separation purposes. New and proven technology such as near-infrared hyperspectral imaging and pattern recognition can be used. However, high-quality pattern and spectrum libraries of multiple plastic floors have to be created for optimal and reliable reference models. Furthermore, pattern recognition and near-infrared methods need to be tested further at an industrial scale. / Bakgrund Tarkett AB Ronneby (Sverige) är ett golvlösning företag, erkänt för tillverkning och återvinning av homogent plastgolv. Tarkett AB återvinner huvudsakligen installations spill och tillverkningsfel. Tarkett AB överväger dock att utvidga sina återvinnings förmågor till att omfatta gamla och sönderrivna plastgolv som kan innehålla föroreningar och förbjudna ämnen eller plastgolv från konkurrerande varumärken. För att åstadkomma detta överväger Tarkett en helt ny återvinnings linje med en automatiserad sorteringsprocess istället för den aktuella manuella processen. Således föreslår Tarkett ett examensarbete för att konceptualisera ett nytt automatiserat sorteringssystem med ökad kapacitet och ökad funktionalitet. Syfte Detta arbete syftar till att undersöka den nuvarande sorterings processen och introducera konceptuella lösningar för en ny automatiserad sorteringsprocess som kan identifiera och separera plastgolv efter tillverkare, typ, skick och externt avfall med befintlig teknik. Metod De metoder och verktyg som används i detta arbete är huvudsakligen baserade på en modifierad produktutvecklingsprocess. Vilket börja med datainsamling av den aktuella sorterings processen, hitta behov och extrahera krav för en automatiserad sorteringsprocess, undersöka relevant teknik, utvärdera tekniken baserad på vetenskaplig litteratur och tester. Begreppen beskriver hur sorterings processen fungerar och vilken teknik som används för varje steg i processen. Koncept 1 och Koncept 2 använde både mönsterigenkänning och spektroskopi metoder. Medan Koncept 3 bara använde spektroskopi metoder. Spektroskopi metoderna användes för att sortera plastgolv efter innehåll medan mönsterigenkänning efter utseende. Slutsats Återvinning av sönderrivna plastgolv kan vara fördelaktigt för både miljön och återvinningsindustrin. Dock finns det några utmaningar med anknytning till pålitlig, snabb och icke-förstörande identifiering för sorterings- och separation ändamål. Ny och beprövad teknik som nästan infraröd hyperspektral avbildning och mönsterigenkänning kan användas. Emellertid måste mönster- och spektrum bibliotek av hög kvalitet av flera plastgolv skapas för optimala och pålitliga referens-modeller. Dessutom måste mönsterigenkänning och nära-infraröda metoder testas vidare i industriell skala.

Automating Telemetry Tracking Systems Operational Tests

The idea was to determine the condition of a Telemetry Tracking System in a reliable manner in a short time as possible. A series of RF and Servo Tests designed to determine the condition of a Telemetry Tracking System was implemented using HP BASIC. The latest personal computers are faster and have more storage capacity plus the capability to be programmed in higher level languages such as C/C++ and LabView. This technology makes it easier to automate system tests. Many of these tests need to be conducted just prior to supporting a mission. Some tests are required to be performed on mobile systems after moving the system from one location to another, especially if the move was over long distances and rugged terrain. Tests such as G/T are conducted before each mission because it yields accurate information on the Figure of Merit, or, System Sensitivity. Noise Figure Measurements are more difficult to perform to determine the System Sensitivity since modern RF Subsystems have pre-amplifiers with Noise Figures of less than 1.0 dB. The “down-sizing” of personnel increases the possibility of failure in mission support scenarios due to the many critical readiness tests needed to assess the Telemetry Tracking Systems. Also, conventional test methods can be time consuming and are subject to human error. This paper describes four critical tests that have been automated to improve reliability of the test data and decrease the amount of time required to conduct the tests. The “C/C++” language was used to write the automation programs. More tests will be automated later.

Facies variability in deep water channel-to-lobe transition zone : Jurassic Los Molles Formation, Neuquen Basin, Argentina

This study focuses on the facies changes from the lower slope to toe-of-slope to basin floor over a 10 km outcrop belt, in down-dip and oblique-strike directions to the basin margin. The Jurassic Los Molles Formation in Neuquen Basin, Argentina represents the slope and basin floor of basin margin clinoforms, coeval with the shallow water and fluvial deposits named Las Lajas and Challaco formations respectively. The shallow and deep water deposits are diachronously linked in an Early-Mid Jurassic source-to-sink system developed in a back-arc basin during the incipient development of the Andes Mountains. Satellite images, high resolution panorama pictures and measured sections were used to correlate and interpret the spatial variability and overall geometry of the base of slope to basin floor units. The observations of this study refine the model for the channel-to-lobe transition zone with increase recognition and quantification of facies and architecture variability. The Los Molles basin margin was coarse grained and was ideal to observe changes in the geometry and depositional facies of channel-to-lobe deposits from updip to downdip continuous over an 8 km outcrop belt. The described channel-to-lobe transition zone clearly shows a downdip change in bed boundaries from dominantly erosive to non-erosional (bypass) to depositional and with a range of distinct facies changes. In the transition zone the sand to shale ratio is high (N:G: 65-70 %), with gutter casts and deep scours, with a high degree of amalgamation, gravel lags, mud rip-up clasts and laterally migrating beds. Within the same depositional unit (deep water lobe), at the base of the slope, the dominant sandstone beds change from amalgamated structureless and normal graded sandstone beds in the channelized lobe axis to parallel laminated and normally graded in the channelized lobe off-axis areas. Similar facies changes have been observed along proximal to distal direction. The lateral change of the dominant structures in the beds indicates changes in the flow regime and depositional style. / text

Patterns of infull and basin-scale architecture : Tyee Forearc Basin, and observation from a segment of New Jersey passive margin

The well-known clinoformal geometry of a basin-fill, with an alluvial to shelf segment, deep-water slope segment, and a basin floor segment, arises from the development of a wedge-shaped body of sediment at the basin-margin that has been termed a basin-margin wedge or a shelf-slope sedimentary prism. The basin-margin wedge characteristically has atopset-foreset clinoformal geometry, with its topset dominated by alluvial, coastal and shelfal processes, while its foreset is dominated by turbidite sedimentation. Tectonic configuration of the basin, sediment supply, and relative sea level variation are some of the major factors that control the development and growth of the basin-margin wedge. This dissertation documents two distinct stages of development of the basin-margin wedge at an Eocene active margin, and relates the observed variability in the nature of the shelf-margin, deep-water slope, and basin-floor deposits with these stages. The Tyee Basin in western Oregon was a forearc basin that was filled during late early Eocene and Middle Eocene under greenhouse climatic condition. The sedimentary succession of the Tyee Basin include continental, shallow-marine and deep-water sandstones that are well exposed in Coast Range area of Oregon. The variability observed within the thick and laterally extensive turbidite sandstones of the Tyee Basin led to contrasting depositional models for the Tyee basin in the past. Notably, the submarine ramp model, which provides an alternative model for deepwater coarse clastic deposition, was proposed based on the sedimentary succession of the Tyee Basin. Reconstruction of the clinoformal geometry of the Tyee Basin succession from detailed field data (more than 1000 outcrop locations) and subsurface data reveals two distinct stages of development of this active basin-margin. Each stage has a distinct style of clinoform development and a distinct character of associated sandy deepwater deposits. At the initial stage the basin-margin clinoforms appear to be small (< 250m clinoform height) and strongly progradational, with clinoform topset dominated by the feeder fluvial deposits. At this stage, sandy unconfined (not channelized) turbidite deposits accumulated on the Tyee deepwater slope and extended to the Tyee basin-floor. Large scale sediment conduits on the deepwater slope, in the form of slope channels or canyons, are notably absent in this stage. The second stage is characterized by larger clinoform height (> 500m), higher degree of topset aggradation with repeated fluvio-deltaic cycles on the shelf, and spectacular, sand-rich, well-organized turbidite channels and canyons on the slope. The slope channels active at this stage supplied coarse sediments to the basin-floor to form unusually thick basin-floor fans. The first infill stage represents the embryonic development of a basin-margin wedge on the Tyee continental margin, and could have some similarity with the previously mentioned submarine ramp model. But this was followed by a much longer period of basin-filling when repeated fluvial and shallow-marine cycles formed on the shelf and well-organized turbidite channels were active on the slope supplying sands to the Tyee Basin floor fans. It was concluded that the two stages of development of the basin-margin wedge in the Tyee Basin is controlled largely by the configuration of the basin, that is a result of the prominent topographic/bathymetric features in oceanic basement underlying the sedimentary succession of the Tyee Basin. Tectonically active hinterland and greenhouse climate may have contributed to a relatively high sediment supply to the basin. The relatively small-amplitude sea level variations expected under greenhouse climatic condition of the Early to Middle Eocene are likely to have relatively minor effect on the architecture of the basin-fill. The present work on Tyee Basin builds on earlier research on this basin, but now establishes a ground trothed clinoformal growth model, revises the existing interpretation of sediment transport direction during a major part of the basin-filling history, and demonstrates a two-stage evolution of margin accretion. The observations from the active Tyee Basin was compared and contrasted with a latest Pleistocene sediment wedge on the New Jersey outer shelf. This sediment wedge, developed under icehouse climatic condition, and on a passive margin, was studied using high resolution seismic data (CHIRP). In contrast to the sedimentary succession of the Tyee Basin, the depositional architecture of the sediment wedge on outer New Jersey shelf, which was interpreted as a set of falling stage deltaic clinothems, appears to be strongly controlled by eustatic sea level variation of latest Pleistocene. / text

Etude du facteur de transcription XHRT1 dans le développement embryonnaire chez le xénope

Le laboratoire d’Embryologie Moléculaire étudie les mécanismes moléculaires contrôlant le développement embryonnaire et utilise comme système expérimental l’embryon de xénope. En collaboration le laboratoire du Dr Daniel Christophe, nous avons abordé l’étude du gène XHRT1 chez le xénope. Ce gène est l’orthologue du gène HRT-1/Hey1/Hesr-1/HERP2/CHF2 de souris. Celui-ci, avec deux autres protéines apparentées (HRT2 et HRT3) forme une sous-famille de facteurs de transcription de type bHLH-O qui se différencient des autres facteurs bHLH-O par l’absence d’un motif carboxy-terminal de séquence « WRPW » et par la présence d’un nouveau motif carboxy-terminal conservé de séquence « TEI/VGAF ». Le rôle de ces facteurs HRT dans le développement est encore actuellement mal connu. Dans un premier temps, nous avons déterminé le profil d’expression de XHRT1 au cours de l’embryogenèse. Nous avons observé que ce gène est fortement exprimé au stade neurula dans le plancher du tube neural, et que plus tardivement celui-ci est exprimé dans différentes régions du système nerveux, dans les somites et le dans le pronéphros. Comme attendu pour un membre de la famille des facteurs bHLH-O, nous avons également observé que l’expression précoce de HRT1 au niveau du plancher du tube neural est bien régulée par la voie de signalisation Notch. Dans un deuxième temps, nous nous sommes intéressés au rôle et au mode d’action du facteur XHRT1 dans le développement du plancher du tube neural. Nous avons pu montrer que XHRT1 agit comme répresseur transcriptionnel et que cette répression nécessite la présence du domaine bHLH et de séquences en aval de celui-ci. Nous avons montré en embryon que la surexpression précoce de XHRT1 induit un blocage de l’expression des marqueurs du mésoderme et une augmentation de marqueur du plancher du tube neural, ce qui est en accord avec le modèle selon lequel la voie de signalisation Notch interviendrait dans le choix de la destinée des cellules de la région médiane en inhibant la différenciation des cellules en notocorde et en favorisant leur différenciation en cellules du plancher du tube neural. XHRT1 n’étant cependant activé qu’à partir du stade neurula, nous avons conclu que les effets observés n’étaient probablement pas dus à XHRT1 mais à un autre facteur bHLH-O apparenté exprimé plus précocement dans les cellules de la ligne mediane de l’embryon. Afin d’éviter ces effets non spécifiques précoces, nous avons utilisé un vecteur d’expression de XHRT1 permettant un contrôle temporel de l’activité de la protéine. Nous avons ainsi montré que l’activation de XHRT1 au stade neurula dans l’ectoderme inhibe la différenciation des cellules précurseurs neurales en neurones et qu’il pourrait ainsi jouer un rôle important dans le développement du plancher du tube neural. Nos résultats ont montré également que XHRT1 est capable d’homo- et hétérodimériser in vivo avec les facteurs Xhairy1 et Xhairy2b coexprimés avec XHRT1 dans le plancher du tube neural. Enfin, nous avons montré que les propriétés de dimérisation de XHRT1 sont dépendantes non seulement du domaine bHLH, mais aussi du domaine Orange et des séquences situées en aval, séquences jouant un rôle important dans le choix du partenaire. Des travaux récents ayant montré que la voie de signalisation Notch joue un rôle important dans le développement du rein, nous avons voulu déterminer l’importance de XHRT1 dans le développement du pronéphros. Nos résultats ont montré que XHRT1 ainsi que d’autres facteurs bHLH-O sont exprimés de manière dynamique, d’abord dans le glomus puis dans la partie dorso-antérieure de l’ébauche du pronéphros à l’origine des tubules proximaux, et que leur expression est régulée positivement par Notch. La surexpression de XHRT1 à la fin de la neurulation inhibe la formation du canal et du tubule distal, tandis que l’inhibition de la traduction de la protéine entraîne une réduction de l’expression de marqueurs spécifiques des tubules proximaux et du glomus. Ces résultats démontrent que XHRT1 joue un rôle important comme médiateur de la voie de signalisation Notch dans le pronéphros.
