Vliv činnosti ČŠI na praxi mateřských škol / Impact of ČŠI on practice activities of nursery schools

The disertation focuses on Czech School Inspectorate (CSI) and its impact on the preschool institutions in the region of Lanškroun. What are the criteria used in evaluating the work of kindergarten, what laws are governed in their work and what the implications of its findings are to the school management and decision-making processes in them. The thesis comrises the historical introduction of the state supervision over schools, the development of CSI, the comparison of school inspection systems in other EU countries, the extent of competency of the Czech School Inspectorate. The research shows that the Czech School Inspectorate has the positive impact on management in the kindergartens, it gives the essential feedback to the kindergarten headmasters. The headmasters consider the CSI evaluation to be the further step in their work. The determined conclusions are the results of the questionnaire to the headmasters, the analysis of inspection reports as the outcome of CSI activities in selected kindergartens in the region of Lanškroun. Zmapování lesních mateřských školek v Libereckém kraji / Forest schools in Liberec region

Title: The importance of nature as a learning environment by mapping forest clubs and forest kindergartens in the Liberec region from from the point of view of educators. Objective: The aim of my thesis is to map forest kindergartens and forest clubs in the Liberec region. Further, by using semi-structured interviews to obtain specific information about the operation and educational activities of the forest kindergartens and clubs in the district. Results: Literature about pre-school pedagogy, alternative ways of education, forest kindergartens gave us insights into the topic. From semi-structured interviews that I conducted with various teachers of forest kindergartens or clubs in the Liberec region, I received necessary information. The functioning of forest kindergartens and forest clubs is different in many ways. Opening hours of kindergartens are about 7:00 to 17:00. Their approach to children is inspired by Waldorf and Montessori pedagogy. The timetable of the day differs, but the materials they use are similar and come from nature. All respondents mentioned that parents cooperate with them. It was evident that all of them have good relationship to nature and see its positive influence on children. This thesis deals with pre-reading literacy and focuses on the factors and actors that it develops. The first chapter deals with the theoretical definition and importance of education to the reading. The second chapter outlines the literary form of preschool education and how the literary education is included in the general educational program for preschool education. The third chapter is devoted to the primary and most important factor that the development of a child's reading act, and that is the family. It shows the possibilities of how children can relate to the books in the family to support the role of the relationship of their parents to read and stresses the importance of reading and storytelling in the family circle. The following chapter deals with the cooperation of nursery school and family in the development of a child's reading, closer is about the influence of teacher's personality and it offers opportunities to work with the book in full day kindergarten regime. The last two chapters of the theoretical part characterizes the specifics of children's literature and provide an overview of the typology of literature for preschool children. Dílna čtení v mateřské škole jako podpora rozvoje čtenářské pregramotnosti / Workshop reading in kindergarten to support the development of pre-literacy

The thesis Reading Workshop in Kindergarten as a support for the development of reading literacy deals in the theoretical part with the characteristics of pre-school children and their capabilities. It further investigates the methods that could be used for and are essential for the development of reading literacy in the pre-school age and the role of the family in this respect. The theoretical part is concluded with the introduction of the scheme Reading and Writing for Critical Thinking mentioning its basic resources. It shows that the reading workshop methods are very efficient for the active learning of children. The practical part describes 7 reading workshops that have been implemented in a typical kindergarten and this is supplemented with detailed comments. The empirical part investigates the family environment of children and, as based on parents' observations, it evaluates the contribution of reading workshops to the development of reading literacy of pre- school children. Reading workshops proved to be beneficial especially in terms of the growing interest of children in reading and also in terms of children's creativity development. Title: Healthy lifestyle in curriculum of preschool-age Goal: The aim of this thesis was to determinate an extent of attention to healthy lifestyle in curriculum of preschool-age children. Futhermore the thesis monitored an attitude of selected kindergarten towards issues of healthy lifestyle of children. Research: A quantitative (non-standardized questionnaire) and a qualitative (interview) method as the research method was used. Results: In conclusion, selected kindergarten pay sufficient attention to various parts of healthy lifestyle of preschool-age children. We discovered differences by Montessori kindergarten among the others. This thesis engages in the language acquistion of the mother tongue (czech) and the second language (English) in preschool age and discribes the development of child language competence in both languages based on available theories, results of illustrative research and one-year observation in kindergarten with bilingual education program. In the beginning, there are defined theories which engaged in past and engage today (from 20th century till the present day) in study of language acquisition. In addition of these theories we focus factors which influence on the language development of children and consideration even theory of children's linguistic picture of the world. We compare the development of language competence (phonetic-phonological, semantic, grammatical, communication, pragmatic and vocabulary) in first language (czech) which are defined in agreement with available theories with empirical discoveries which indicate the development of those competence in second language (English) and we discribe partial methodological processes.
