Flyktingar som levt gömda : En kvalitativ studie om strategier för att hantera sin livssituation

Då en människa får avslag på sin ansökan om uppehållstillstånd kan denne av olika skäl tvingas till att leva gömd. En vanlig orsak till detta är skräcken för vad som skulle kunna hända vid ett återvändande till hemlandet. Därmed väljer den avvisade en livssituation utan tillgång till olika samhälleliga rättigheter framför att vända tillbaka. Frånvaron av stödinsatser innebär ofta materiella, fysiska och psykiska konsekvenser. Hur individen hanterar dessa beror till viss del på orsaken till flykten, men också på det stöd andra människor kan ge. För att få en djupare förståelse för den gömdes situation, utformades syftet att undersöka vilka faktorer som påverkar hur en flykting som lever gömd kan hantera samt skapa mening och innehåll i sin livssituation. Detta ledde till följande frågeställningar: 1) Vilka faktorer beskrivs som inflytelserika för flyktingens förmåga att hantera sin livssituation som gömd? 2) På vilket sätt inverkar dessa faktorer på flyktingens möjlighet att hantera sin vardag? 3) Hur beskrivs flyktingens stöd från det sociala nätverket och på vilket sätt bidrar detta stöd till att skapa en meningsfull tillvaro? 4) Finns det gemensamma mönster eller skildringar i respondenternas berättelser som kan vara betydelsefulla för skapandet av mening? I denna studie har en kvalitativ metod använts, innefattande semistrukturerade intervjuer med tre flyktingar som levt gömda. Intervjufrågor formulerades utifrån tolkningsramens teoretiska perspektiv om meningsskapande med grund i logoterapi, KASAM och socialt stöd. Dessa perspektiv kopplades samman varpå socialt stöd blev en viktig komponent inom logoterapin och KASAM. I resultatet framgår att praktiska omständigheter, socialt nätverk samt livsåskådning är av vikt för att en gömd flykting ska kunna skapa mening och innehåll i sitt liv. Avgörande visade sig det sociala stödet vara, främst i form av nära mellanmänskliga relationer. Detta då dessa kontakter kan erbjuda socialt, emotionellt och självstärkande stöd. För att kunna skapa mening krävs också utrymme för existentiella frågor, egna känslor samt en huvudsaklig sysselsättning. Dessa måste tillskrivas ett värde för att KASAM ska kunna uppnås. / When denied the right to a permanent residence permit, a refugee can, for various reasons, be forced to lead a life in hiding. A common reason for this is the fear of what awaits in the country of origin. As a result, the “denied” chooses to proceed into a life without access to any societal rights rather than return home. The lack of organized support in such a situation contributes to difficult material, physical as well as psychological consequences. The manner each individual has of handling these are highly dependent upon their reasons for fleeing, as well as the support they receive. To achieve a broader understanding of a life in hiding, the factors that influence the manner the affected refugee can handle, as well as create meaning and content in his/her situation, have been investigated. Subsequently, the following questions were asked: 1) which factors are described as significant in regards to the refugee’s ability to handle a life in hiding? 2) In which ways do these factors affect the refugee’s ability to handle his/her everyday life? 3) How is the support of the social network described, and in which ways can this support help create a meaningful existence? 4) Are there any patterns to be found in the narratives of the informants that can contribute to a meaningful existence? In this study, a qualitative method was used comprising semi-structured interviews with three refugees having lead lives in hiding. Interview questions were developed using the study’s theoretical framework, consisting of logotherapy, KASAM and social support. As these perspectives were combined, social support proved to be an important component in both logotherapy and KASAM. The study concluded that practical circumstances, a social network as well as the “outlook on life” were essential to enable the creation of meaning in the hidden individual’s life. Close relationships were demonstrated as the most vital aspect, as they offer emotional, social as well as self-strengthening support. In addition to this, personal feelings, existential questioning and a primary occupation are needed to create meaning. These must be valued as important to achieve KASAM.

Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / Diante do desafio de nosso tempo em relação a problemática do abuso no uso das drogas cresceu a oferta de atendimentos e internações em comunidades terapêuticas para a reabilitação das pessoas atingidas por esse mal. Conforme a legislação vigente sobre a saúde mental, esse espaços terapêuticos devem proporcionar um momento de Espiritualidade em seus programas de atendimento. A Igreja Católica Apostólica Romana dispõe da Pastoral da Sobriedade, um departamento que destina-se a cuidar do assunto de apoio a reabilitação de adictos. Muitos agentes de pastoral se dedicam a tarefa de fazer o acompanhamento junto a essas comunidades terapêuticas. Contudo, nem todos possuem indicações claras de como devem agir em suas atividades direcionadas à reabilitação. Nossa tese visa responder a questão: como proporcionar um momento de Espiritualidade a partir da Lectio Divina respeitando critérios terapêuticos que articulem o momento de Espiritualidade como um momento terapêutico? Diante dessa dúvida buscamos investigar a Logoterapia como uma abordagem Psicoterapêutica que respeita a esfera noológica da pessoa, e em especial, buscar elementos da Biblioterapia, uma das técnicas da Logoterapia que possui características semelhante a Lectio Divina em sua operacionalização. / The challenge of our time we have faced about drug abuse increases the supply of care and admissions in therapeutic communities for the rehabilitation of people affected by this disease. According to current Brazilian legislation on mental health, therapeutic settings should provide a spiritual moment in their care programs. The Roman Catholic Church has the Pastoral da Sobriedade, a department that deals with the issue of supporting the rehabilitation of addicts. Most of pastoral agents are dedicated to the task of support these therapeutic communities. However, not all of pastoral agents have clear indications of how they should work to get success at rehabilitation. Our thesis aims to answer the question: how is possible to provide a spiritual moment according to the Lectio Divina in compliance to therapeutic criteria that causes the spiritual moment as a therapeutic moment at same time? In view of this question we investigate the Logotherapy as a psychotherapeutic approach that respects the person noological sphere. In particular way, we find elements of Bibliotherapy that is one of the Logotherapy techniques has similarities Lectio Divina in its implementation as groundwork to therapeutic criteria.

In search of a revised model of health : exploring the relationship between meaning and health

Research in Logotherapy substantiates the influence of meaning on psychological health and Psychoneuroimmunology (PNI) corroborates the effects of psychological health on physical health. This dissertation explores the relationship between meaning and physical health hypothesising that purpose affects physical health. Methodology Exploratory factor analysis (EFA), ANOVAs and stepwise regression were used to explore three possible models. Results EFA revealed four factors, purpose, fear, vitality and aggression. Significant correlations were found between purpose, vitality (0.42) and work application (0.53). Despite the significant relationship between purpose and vitality, the lack of Chi-square is significant, suggesting that additional variables should be introduced into the model. Conclusion People reporting high levels of purpose together with low levels of fear and aggression, can be characterised by high vitality and an absence of medical conditions. Future research should focus on evaluating meaning centred interventions on immunity and vitality. / Psychology / M.A. (Psychology)

The self {--} assess questionnaire ESK is constructed to measure the mental abilities of the person, his readiness for valuable and meaningful life. The target of the ESK is not to examine the psychological dimension of the person but to study his experience with using mental competences. The scores achieved in the questionnaire ESK do not describe permanent personality traits but they reflect the person{\crq}s present experience with using potential features, which are given everyone equally but people realize them to a different extent in their lives. The examined person is asked about his usual reactions, which enable him to cope with the life situations. The validity of many items is not evident, so the examined person does not know what is measured, which reduces the possibility that the answers are distorted in order to be social acceptable. The answers are divided into four basic scales, every two of these scales are merged into the higher factors and the total score is made out by combining these two factors. The total score expresses ``the overall fullness of the existence{\crqq} or ``the subjective perceived meaningfulness of the existence{\crqq}. The questionnaire was answered by 210 respondents and the survey results were compared with the austrian norms. Finally the correlative analysis of the questionnaires ESK and SPARO was made to find out relations between ESK scales and the personality structure of an individual.

Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento CientÃfico e TecnolÃgico / The present work aimed to research the theoretical interfaces between ethics and psychology in the opus of Viktor Frankl, Austrian psychiatrist and founder of Logotherapy. Through the systematization of three concepts (âmeaningâ, âwill to meaningâ and âmoral conscienceâ), our analytical path led us to the description of a âmeaning-of-life ethicsâ as an âethic of responsibilityâ that reconciles morals and ontology. The first category is interpreted as a key concept in order to enlighten Franklâs world view. In the next chapter, divided in two parts, the anthropological theory of Logotherapy is studied in detail. The third concept brings forth the problem of meaning legitimacy as a moral imperative. At this point we face Franklâs radical ontological questioning on the phenomenon of responsibility. The last chapter attempts to harmonize the three categories mentioned into an ethical theory. / O presente trabalho teve como objetivo investigar as interfaces Ãtico-psicolÃgicas existentes no pensamento de Viktor Emil Frankl, psiquiatra austrÃaco, criador da assim chamada 3 Escola Vienense de Psicoterapia: a logoterapia, tambÃm conhecida como âa psicologia do sentido da vidaâ. In my thesis, I focused on the topic of poimenic in the care of seriously ill and dying in biblical context and specialized care, with respect to the tradition of the Czechoslovak Hussite Church, which includes the concept of spiritual care and theme of sacraments. I described the spiritual needs of the sick and dying, the means of this care for them, which are: interview, prayer, sacraments, and an accompanying person. With regard to the target group of the topic of my thesis, I deal with psychotherapeutic approach of logotherapy: the context of its establishment, the importance of the author, by the very meaning of the term and the idea of the values of V. E. Frankl, the topic of freedom and responsibility, tragic triad and techniques of this psychotherapeutic school. In conclusion, I mention the benefits of logotherapy in the pastoral care of the seriously ill and dying.My thesis shows the importance of poimenic and logotherapy in the service of seriously ill and dying. Logotherapy enables the patients to understand their life story in a deeper way. It can also serve to an accompanying person, in his/her service, his/her life and understanding of the seriously ill and dying, to whom he/she comes. Diploma thesis deals with the possibilities of using logotherapeutic principles for clients in residential care. It shows the importance of interpersonal relationships among the long-term sick and dying people. It is focused on social work in the context of helping professions. In detail it deals with the disabled people. To provide the most effective care the knowledge of the specific disability is necessary. Different types of complex approaches to clients in residential facilities are mentioned and humanistic and existential theories of social work are summarized. The main part of the thesis concerns logotherapy and search for the meaning of life using logotherapeutic principles. Theoretical way-outs are evidenced by personal experience, mainly from the hospital environment, from the work with long- term sick and dying clients.

As measurements were used the Invent?rio de Sintomas de Stress de Lipp (ISSL), the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) and Lukas Logo-Test. 64.3% of the teachers were diagnosed with stress, mainly in the resistance phase, 35.7 had burnout and 10.7, tendency towards burnout. There were more teachers with stress among those with less perception of meaning. There was significant correlation between stress level and married or divorced teachers. The sample was divided into two groups and submitted to two different types of stress management courses: one with cognitive-behavioral approach only and the other including techniques to search meaning based on Frankl s logotherapy. After the training course the group with cognitive-behavioral approach had significantly better results than the group with inclusion of logotherapeutic approach regarding stress and burnout reduction and better meaning fulfillment. This difference in results may be due to different characteristics of the participants: the group with cognitive-behavioral approach only was significantly older and had longer work experience than the logotherapeutic oriented group; in addition, before training procedures, the group with exclusively cognitive-behavioral approach revealed a higher degree of stress than the logotherapeutic oriented group. / Foi estudada uma amostra de 28 professoras do ensino fundamental quanto ? intera??o entre stress, burnout e sentido e quanto ? efic?cia de dois tipos de treinamento para redu??o do stress excessivo. Utilizou-se como instrumentos de aferi??o o Invent?rio de Sintomas de Stress de Lipp (ISSL), o Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) e o Logo-Test de Lukas. 64,3% das professoras apresentaram stress, predominantemente na fase de resist?ncia, 35,7% revelaram burnout e 10,7%, tend?ncia ao burnout. Houve maior freq??ncia de professoras com stress entre aquelas com menor percep??o de sentido. Foi constatada correla??o significativa entre n?vel de stress e professoras casadas/separadas. A amostra dividida em dois grupos recebeu dois tipos diferentes de treinamento para gerenciamento de stress: um somente com abordagem cognitivo-comportamental, e outro com inclus?o de estrat?gias de busca de sentido da logoterapia de Frankl. Ap?s o treinamento, o grupo com abordagem exclusivamente cognitivo-comportamental apresentou resultado significativamente melhor do que o grupo com inclus?o da abordagem logoter?pica quanto ? redu??o de stress e burnout e melhor realiza??o de sentido. A diferen?a nos resultados pode ser atribu?da a caracter?sticas diferentes das participantes: o grupo que recebeu abordagem com sentido teve idade e tempo de servi?o significativamente superiores ao grupo sem abordagem de sentido; al?m disso, o grupo com abordagem somente cognitivo-comportamental apresentou grau de stress inicial mais elevado em rela??o ao grupo que foi submetido ? abordagem com sentido.
