[pt] ANÁLISE DAS RESISTÊNCIAS DE COMPONENTES FABRICADOS POR MANUFATURA ADITIVA / [en] STRENGTH ANALYSIS OF COMPONENTS PRODUCED BY ADDITIVE MANUFACTURINGRENAN FERREIRA FRAGA WANDERLEY 05 January 2023 (has links)
[en] Advanced manufacturing, more specifically additive manufacturing, has been increasingly explored since the emergence of the so-called Industry 4.0. 3D printing techniques, including the great diversity of technologies and materials that can be used, allow a wide range of applications. In order to further explore and deepen the studies related to this topic, this research investigated the mechanical properties of PH1 stainless steel, manufactured in an EOS M280 printer through the laser layer sintering process. The characteristics of the material were explored, identifying influences of the form of manufacture and comparing its measured properties with those reported by the printer manufacturer and with similar laminated materials found on the market. The tensile, roughness, hardness, impact, M.E.V. and fatigue tests were selected considering obtaining the most relevant properties of the material for the industry of the parts produced by the technology. The measured results were compared with those obtained by traditional manufacturing, so that it was possible to analyze the feasibility and reliability of replacing the manufacturing method. These indicate that the printed material is resistant and can replace parts obtained by traditional manufacturing, but it must be used with some considerations as it is greatly influenced by the printing orientation. Additionally, a script for the digital manufacturing of spare parts was developed, to allow the manufacture of parts that, together with the mechanical tests performed, allows the evaluation of the path to be followed within the additive manufacturing for each part.

A compreensão do processo
[en] Manufacturing technologies for product development have evolved
exponentially with the continued advancement of mathematical algorithms and
increasingly intuitive software interfaces. This binomial has potentiated the current
digital revolution, in which 3D printing technology stands out. This increasingly
accessible technology enables users to develop physical prototypes and even
produce products for the consumer market, a previously unique activity in the
manufacturing industries. One of the main barriers of the process is still the
development of three-dimensional digital files, making it necessary a specific
understanding in the combination of the virtual environment with the physical
environment. Understanding the process fosters the many possibilities that 3D
printing can offer in the development of innovative products. This technology
revolutionizes the way we design, produce and consume. In this dissertation, case
studies focused on robot combat, a specific area of robotics, were developed in an
innovative way, with proven effectiveness in action.

[en] LATTICE STRUCTURES DESIGN BASED ON TOPOLOGY OPTIMIZATION: MODELING, ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING, AND EXPERIMENTAL ANALYSIS / [pt] PROJETO DE ESTRUTURAS CELULARES FORMADAS POR REDE DE TRELIÇAS BASEADO EM OTIMIZAÇÃO TOPOLÓGICA: MODELAGEM, MANUFATURA ADITIVA E ANÁLISE EXPERIMENTALMARIANA MORAES GIOIA 13 September 2023 (has links)
[en] Materials made with architected microstructures present tunable mechanical properties and can be used to obtain light structures and, at the same time, with maximum stiffness. In lattice structures, for example, the type of topology and porosity can be varied so that the material is efficiently distributed in the design domain. Due to the complex geometries of these structures, designing them using computer-aided design tools is a challenging task. In this work, a parametric modeling was developed in the Rhinoceros program using the Grasshopper extension to assist in the construction of models of lattice structures with varying truss diameters. The developed parametric modeling allows defining the topology and the diameter of the truss bars, which greatly simplifies the generation of models of porous solids. Microstructure models were generated and manufactured in polyamide 12 through selective laser sintering to assess whether it is feasible to print the trusses from the established parameters. The problem of a simply supported beam with a concentrated load at the center was solved using the topology optimization method and the density field was used to generate the variable density model. Considering the same final mass of the optimized models, models with constant density were generated and manufactured together with the models with variable density. Experimental analyzes were carried out using three-point bending tests and the results show that the solution using variable density has a large increase in stiffness when compared to solutions with uniform density.

[en] AN EFFECTIVE COMPATIBILITY SCHEME IN MULTISCALE TOPOLOGY OPTIMIZATION OF STRUCTURES / [pt] UM ESQUEMA EFICAZ DE COMPATIBILIDADE NA OTIMIZAÇÃO TOPOLÓGICA MULTIESCALA DE ESTRUTURASGIOVANNY ALBERTO MENESES ARBOLEDA 17 August 2021 (has links)
[en] Recent advances in additive manufacturing techniques have increased their flexibility in making complex parts on a smaller scale. In this context, the design of porous microstructures has been standing out in the scientific community due to the ability to optimize the cell topology to meet the design requirements. However, there are several challenges that inhibit the fabrication of optimized parts obtained by the multi-scale topology optimization method, such as the connectivity of microstructures. The multiscale topological optimization consists of the optimization of both the macro-scale, global structure, and the micro-scale, microstructure of the material. The main objective of this work is to develop an effective scheme to guarantee compatibility in the transition between the different material microstructures obtained in multiscale optimization. The multiscale methodologies for simultaneous topological optimization of both scales and the homogenization procedures are described. The main numerical and computational aspects of these methods are presented, as well as representative examples to illustrate the capabilities of the proposed scheme.
