[pt] O Movimento Pentecostal é o ramo mais representativo do protestantismo brasileiro atual. É um Movimento que, historicamente, tem se comunicado com as classes menos favorecidas da sociedade brasileira e tem sido um Movimento Pneumatológico e Eclesial importante no cenário religioso hodierno. No Pentecostalismo, assim como no cristianismo ocidental em geral, a presença do dualismo tem sido um fator de distanciamento da proposta de Jesus e de distorções acerca da espiritualidade. O pensamento do teólogo suíço Karl Barth é um sistema de reflexão que trabalha com pontos muito parecidos com os do Pentecostalismo brasileiro, como a Pneumatologia, a Eclesiologia, a Espiritualidade, etc, porém, no pensamento barthiano percebemos os mesmos elementos sendo compreendidos de modo integral, num caminho de superação das distorções e aproximação da santidade proposta por Jesus de Nazaré. / [en] The Pentecostal Movement is the most representative branch of present-day Brazilian Protestantism. It s a Movement that has historically communicated with the less favored classes of brazilian society and has been an important Pneumatological and Ecclesial Movement in today s religious scene. In Pentecostalism, as in Western Christianity in general, the presence of dualism has been a distancing factor from Jesus proposal and distortions about spirituality. The thought of the Swiss theologian Karl Barth is a system of reflection that works with points very similar to those of Brazilian Pentecostalism, such as Pneumatology, Ecclesiology, Spirituality, etc. However, in Barthian thought we perceive the same elements being understood integrally, in a way of overcoming the distortions and approach of holiness proposed by Jesus of Nazareth.

[pt] A vida e a teologia de Karl Barth foram marcadas pelo engajamento político-social. Engajamento este que não aconteceu simplesmente porque Barth era politizado, mas foi uma consequência de seu entendimento teológico. Para ele, a fé cristã via o homem de modo integral e não dualista, portanto não havia nenhuma esfera da vida humana que não pertencesse a Cristo. Ser engajado e lutar pelos menos favorecidos e explorados era uma consequência de fé em Jesus, era se importar com o que Jesus se importaria. Este envolvimento na vida de Barth foi visceral e o teólogo lutou pelo que cria em momentos extremos em que sua própria vida esteve em risco. A sua teologia foi toda permeada por um pensamento holístico que cria ser uma questão de santidade lutar pelos direitos humanos, pela democracia, pelos pobres. Seu exemplo e sua obra podem ser muito pertinentes, sobretudo no contexto socioeconômico da América Latina. / [en] The life and theology of Karl Barth were marked by political and social engagement. This engagement didn t happen simply because Barth was politicized, but was a consequence of his theological understanding. For him, the Christian faith through the man of integral and non-dualistic mode, so there was no sphere of human life that doesn t belong to Christ. Being engaged and fight for the disadvantaged and exploited was a result of faith in Jesus, was to care what Jesus would mind. This involvement in the life of visceral and theologian Barth was fought by establishing in extreme moments when his own life was at risk. His theology was all permeated by a holistic thinking that creates holiness be a matter of fighting for human rights, democracy, the poor. His example and his work can be very relevant, especially in the socio-economic context of Latin America.

[pt] A noção de casa comum, termo usado pelo atual Papa católico para despertar o cuidado com o planeta em que vivemos, remete também ao ideal da fé cristã de que todas as pessoas, em harmonia com toda a criação, sob o cuidado e direção de Deus, viverão relações alegria, paz e justiça, segundo o propósito original da criação. Por ter este projeto como parte integrante de sua fé, cabe aos cristãos buscar colaborar de maneira decisiva para a realização concreta dele. E, como sinalização deste propósito, é preciso testemunhar a possibilidade de expressões de unidade visível, a começar dos próprios cristãos. Da mesma forma, o cuidado com o planeta evidencia a esperança cristã da renovação do mundo todo e, assim, devem os cristãos ser protagonistas nesta questão urgente deste tempo. Este trabalho aproxima a temática da unidade dos cristãos com a da ecologia, enxergando-as como questões da casa comum, e busca na questão da santidade um fundamento de fé e espiritualidade motivador para a reflexão e engajamento prático nessas questões. Como expressão mais concreta disso, relacionará as abordagens de John Wesley e do Papa Francisco sobre a santidade, de maneira a verificar como ela, de fato, pode promover essas questões da casa comum, o que aponta para a viabilidade dessa relação em outras tradições cristãs. / [en] The notion of common home, a term used by the current Catholic Pope to call for care for the planet we live in, also refers to the Christian faith s ideal that all people, in harmony with all creation, under God s care and guidance, will live in joyful, peaceful and just relationships, according to the original purpose of creation. Having this project as an integral part of their faith, it is up to Christians to seek to collaborate in a decisive way for its concrete realization. And, as a sign of this purpose, it is necessary to witness the possibility of expressions of visible unity, beginning with Christians themselves. In the same way, the care for the planet evidences the Christian hope for the renewal of the whole world, and thus Christians must be protagonists in this urgent issue of this time. This work brings Christian unity and ecology together, seeing them as issues of the common home, and seeks in the issue of holiness a foundation of faith and spirituality to motivate reflection and practical engagement on these issues. As a more concrete expression of this, it will relate John Wesley s and Pope Francis approaches to holiness in order to see how holiness in fact can promote these issues of the common home, which points to the viability of this relationship in other Christian traditions.

[pt] Uma parcela significativa do evangelicalismo brasileiro, o neopentecostalismo, herdado da América do Norte, adere à Teologia da Prosperidade, cujos pressupostos vão de encontro ao núcleo da identidade cristã, a Teologia da Graça. Esta tese propõe analisar os fatores econômicos, políticos, sociais e religiosos que contribuíram para a mudança de paradigma, fazendo com que uma vertente do evangelicalismo pentecostal migrasse da religiosidade pautada na resignação para uma forma de manifestação religiosa norteada pela economia de mercado, o capital e o lucro, distanciando-o da sua origem de santidade e da Teologia da Graça, conforme ensinadas pelo pai do avivamento de santidade ou perfeição cristã, John Wesley e o aproximando do secularismo. Como instrumento de verificação para alcançar o resultado esperado, os elementos norteadores desta pesquisa estão alicerçados na Teologia Sistemática e na corroboração da História, da Sociologia e da Antropologia. / [en] A meaningful parcel of Brazilian evangelicalism, the Neopentecostalism, inherited from North America, adheres to the Theology of Prosperity, whose presuppositions stand against the core of the Christian identity, the Theology of Grace. This thesis proposes to analyze the economic, political, social and religious factors that contributed to a change of paradigm, making that stream of Pentecostal evangelicalism migrated from the religiosity regulated by resignation to a form of religious manifestation guided by market economy, the capital and profit, keeping it away from its origin of holiness and from the Theology of Grace, as they were taught by the father of Sanctity Revival or Christian Perfection, John Wesley, and approaching it to secularism. As instrument of verification to reach the expected results, the guiding elements of this research have as background the Systematic Theology and the corroboration of History, Sociology and Anthropology.
