Péče o klima ve třídách 1. stupně ZŠ / Care about climate of classes at primary school

The diploma thesis assesses the effectiveness of selected forms of care for classroom climate. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with class and school climate and explains what factors influence them positively. It describes the risky periods and situations at the primary school, in which the pupil's adaptation problems may occur. Shows adaptation programs as a form of care classroom climate. The practical part investigates how two concrete schools react to risk periods and situations at the primary school and how do they try to prevent adaptation problems. It also includes the action research on the process of creation, implementation and reflection of adaptation stays for pupils of the third and first year of primary school. It presents the observation of two adaptation programs in two different primary schools. In interviews with teachers from both primary schools surveyed summarizes how teachers perceive the impact of climate adaptation programs in classrooms. It deals with activities in adaptation programs that focus on cooperation between pupils. At the end of the practical part there are methodological instructions for the preparation of adaptation programs for beginning teachers. Capacities of elementary schools in the hinterland of the big cities presents actual problem of Czech educational system and no sufficient specialized attention is paid to it, except it has significant impact to the quality of education in these localities. Moreover it can support the inequalities in education. Therefore this diploma thesis offers complex view of investigated issue. The benefits of this work lies especially in the effort to indicate discussion about this topic, which no experts pay special attention to. The main goal is to describe the research problem, to clarify all the causes and consequences of the insufficient capacities in elementary schools problem and find out what is the extent of the problem in the hinterland of Prague. Primary and secondary data was used to achieve these goals. The overall research concept is based on mixed research technique. This diploma thesis finds out what is the current status of elementary schools education system in the hinterland of the big cities and what are causes and consequences of insufficient capacity problem of elementary schools with both quantitative and qualitative methods. The aim of the diploma thesis Problems of the school immaturity through the eyes of the primary school teachers is to summarize in the theoretical part the existing knowledge of the literature on school maturity and school readiness and their controversy and then in the empirical part to find out what problems primary school teachers feel in this area and how they solves them. The work is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part summarizes the key findings on the chosen topic, the practical part presents its own qualitative research. The research was conducted in the form of semi-structured interviews with primary school teachers. The interviews were then transcribed and analyzed through grounded theory. The analysis of the interviews revealed that the experience of teachers with the school immaturity of primary school pupils is very diverse. Most often addressing teachers met with the inability to separate the child from the parents and deficiencies in communication skills. Most educators most often mentioned an individual approach to supporting children not sufficiently mature for school. The aim of the thesis was to systematically record and analyse the transformation of the Czech kindergarten after 1989. To understand the transformation of the kindergarten based on the testimonies of kindergarten teachers with a long touch of practice and to create a coherent continuity of ideas that allow to understand the transformation of Czech pre- school education. The thesis is divided into theoretical and research parts. The theoretical part describes the changes that the education and care of the little ones has undergone over the century. In the introductory chapter, the author briefly discusses the beginnings of preschool education. Knowing that this period is too far removed from the present and from education as a whole, but the central roots and historical transformations of preschool education are so central to the thesis that the author briefly mentions them. After the events of November 1989, Czech preschool was also undergoing transformational changes. The master thesis focuses on education of immigrant pupils in Czech and Maltese schools. The aim of the thesis was to describe what particular measures the schools choose and what methods the teachers use to alleviate the impact of the language barrier in both environments and then to compare the results between each other. The research is of qualitative nature, with the research strategy being a multiple case study. The data collection was realised through observations in class, interviews with the school leadership, teachers and pupils and the analysis of digitalized materials. The case is represented by a particular school and the research was conducted at two schools in Czech and two schools in Maltese environment. The thesis consists of theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part aims its attention at the themes of appropriate approach towards the education of immigrant pupils, explanation of the Maltese education system, legislation of both countries on the issue of education of immigrant pupils and the theme of teacher training focused on education of these pupils provided at the Faculty of Education of Charles University. Drugs seem to be really hot topic discussed especially at high schools. Not only the particular drug addicted person but also the entire society and even the state have to face to many risks. School institutions should become one of the places where the primary steps of prevention should be implemented. In order to prepare proper topics and themes for discussions and meetings against drug use, it is important to know which drugs are used and preferred by young Prague citizens. The main aim of this thesis is to map the real situation that exists in the area of drug us in Prague. That is why a survey - based on a questionnaire - was carried out to gather the data to be able to analyze the differences that exist among the students of high schools, especially grammar schools and vocational schools as well as the boys and girls. The theoretical part of the thesis is focused on detailed information about particular drugs and mapping of the situation that exists in this area in Poland, Austria, Slovakia and Germany. A cornerstone of the following thesis is conviction, that education is a core activity of every school and its headteacher is a main character in reaching quality of education. Leadership and management must go hand in hand, but they are not the same. In his analysis author uses many foreign researches to introduce leadership in the school enviroment. A theory of management by competencies is an introduction for the following comparison of the headteachers education in selected countries. Author keeps on mind an education policy of the OECD. A quantitative research among 112 headteachers is a synthesis of the previous qualitative analysis. A statistic method of generalized linear models (GLM) was used for analysis of the data. Even if the school director has many roles and perform many different duties, he may not forget the quality control of the educational process and its continuous improvement through innovations. The aim of this thesis is to describe instruments that can be used in dissemination of educational and alternatives innovations. To specify the extent of school director's influence in this process and find obstacles which may appear during implementation and propose options to eliminate and overcome. The work is divided into a theoretical and an empirical part. The theoretical part is based on a current scientific knowledge of these issues and contains definitions of necessary theoretical terms, that are used in thesis. in English The thesis focuses on trainee teachers with specific learning disabilities. Its aim is to map their university study and teaching practice. The research part is supplemented with a short survey showing public opinion on teachers with learning disabilities. The thesis is based on empirical research of qualitative nature with quantitative information. Data were obtained from semi structured interviews with students of teaching with specific learning disabilities and from the questionnaire conducted which the public. Another analysis (qualitative and quantitative) and an interpretation of the data followed. All the findings were then compared with the data fixed in literature. The written work consists of three major parts. The theoretical part is predominantly based on abroad scientific sources of information about people with dyslexia studying at a university and employed. The second part of the thesis describes the methodology of the research and the analysis of the data. The two most important results of the research are represented by a number of features which describe a trainee teacher with specific learning disabilities, and the public opinion on such a person.
