This thesis mainly deals with workplace skills, personal qualities and job requirements of an Elementary School Head Master. Is reveals some valuable information on the headmaster's own perception of business success in Prague - The Czech Republic's capital city. In general, the Thesis consists of two main parts - theoretical and practical. The theoretical part is devoted to Head Master's personality assessment and is mainly focused on the importance of personal integrity, qualities, skills and personality typology as well. It summarizes all the extensive knowledge and draws the attention to the main purpose and aims of personal management itself. Furthermore, it reflects some experience from the real leadership background. The second part of the thesis treats qualitative and quantitative data analysis and all the following outcomes. For the above-mentioned occupation, mixed research method was used to determine the Key Success Factors. It highlights some critical aspects from the employer's /authorities' viewpoint as these may vary according to many factors involved. Jiří Trunda ABSTRACT: The Churches and religious denominations can become school and school facility founders according to the law no. 561/2004 of the Statute book, Education law. What are the specifics of the Church schools from the management of education point of view, which this work deals with? And do these specifics actually exist? Do the tangible differences that clearly specify the Church school against the school founded by the municipality, region or the union of municipalities exist? We will focus on the Church grammar schools. There are 18 such grammar schools in the Czech Republic and all of them, were founded by the Roman Catholic Church. These institutions create a specific, not large group of schools that provide high-quality education and also pass religious values on with emphasis on respecting the uniqueness and value of each human being. In the beginning, this work shortly looks into the historical development of the Church schools and their actual legal status. This diploma thesis deals with the topic of school manager's self-management in the art schools area. Thesis aim was to ascertain what the art schools' headmasters in Pilsen and South Bohemia region reckon as part of self management, what influences their self management and how is this influence displayed in their professional and personal lives. Partial aim of this work was to find out if the headmasters educate themselves in the self management area and if yes in what way. In the theoretical part the work comes out of the human resource management and working performance area. It deals with the headmasters' competences and roles, self management, time management, delegation, burnout syndrome, stress techniques and life balance. It elaborately deals with the emotional intelligence and headmaster's career stages in connection with the self management area is influenced by them. The practise brings research results, which was realized by research and additional interviews. The research found out very interesting discoveries from the pedagogical-art schooling, from the working and personal lives of crucial persons in this educational sphere - art schools headmasters. Svobodná výchova v Sudbury Valley School / Democratic Education in Sudbury Valley School

The thesis deals with the global phenomenon of free education as a radical alternative to the present mainstream educational system. The author's goal is to describe phenomenon of free education and to find out to what extent this Sudbury educational model is viable, realizable and requested in other environment (incl. CR) and what results it brings, on the base of a content analysis of domestic, but particularly foreign sources and by means of an analysis of media reports and questioning from the background of the American Sudbury Valley School. The thesis is opened by an explanation of the necessity to change the educational paradigm to make it reflect the reality of the 21st century, and by mutual specification of the terms traditional and free education. Further chapters introduce the concept of free education; a substantial part of the thesis then provides a detailed insight into the operation and normal life of the Sudbury Valley School, including the results of its graduates in further education and in practical life. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the determination of the development characteristics of the period from the age of three to eight (i.e. pre-school and younger school age). The principal focus is on the issue of school maturity, the possibilities of its diagnosis and the pupils' adaptation to the first year of primary school. The empirical part introduces a quantitative research focused on some diagnostic methods (the Orientation Test of School Maturity - Orientační test školní zralosti, the Knowledge Test of Pre-school Children - Zkouška znalostí předškolních dětí and The Star - Wave Test) and the possibility of using these methods for predicting a child's adaptation to the first year of primary school. The thesis aims to examine how these methods could be used and also to show the possible limits related to using these methods. Financování veřejných vysokých škol v České republice / Financing of public universities in the Czech Republic

v AJ The thesis addresses funding of public universities in the Czech Republic. It describes, analyzes and assesses the current method of university funding from public and other resources and points out the most important issues in this area. A part of the study is devoted to the topic of introducing tuition fees as one of the possible methods of students' participation on the university's funding. The study provides arguments for and against such measure and proposes a solution on how to apply it in the Czech Republic. In relation to that, the focus is also posed on financial aid to students, specifically student savings for education and student loans on tuition fees without which the introduction of such measure is difficult to imagine. Criteria which the system providing loans to students should account for are considered and further other possible alternatives of the system are introduced and assessed. The final section presents several possibilities from which public universities may obtain funding beyond the basic framework of the state budget.

This diploma thesis deals with the system of education during the period of the First Republic in Czechoslovakia. It focuses on teachers at experimental schools who specialized in social training and education with regards to social work orientated to children and the families they come from. Numerous activities of the teachers in question are described and then evaluated. In the first part of the thesis the author analyzes the teachers'approach to social training and social work in general. Firstly, the work includes a description of the economic situation and the social status of families with children during the First Republic; secondly, it deals with the state social policies regarding poor families and their children. It presents both the facts on the standard of living found in the research surveys and the origins of the educational initiatives of the Czech teachers of that time. It also takes into account the intellectual sources that could influence them and direct them more to the social aspects of the educational process.
