The aim of the thesis entitled Ninth grade primary school students in the town of Roudnice and their choice of the further course of education is to describe the factors that influence one's course of education, especially the choice of upper secondary educational institutions they decide to study, and empirically map this issue within the town of Roudnice. The theoretical part is divided into chapters according to factors that significantly influence students' choice of educational institutions during the ninth year of primary school. These factors are following: socio-economic background, family and gender, as well as psychological and developmental aspects of adolescence, during which the choice of a secondary school tends to be realized. These categories are then introduced through Czech and foreign researches. We also look at the transition between the lower and upper secondary education in terms of legislation and career counselling. The main part of the thesis is the empirical part, which includes a detailed description of our quantitative research and data analysis. Diploma thesis "Delayed School Attendance in the Region of Říčany" deals with survey of the region of Říčany with respect to opinions and experience of kindergarten and primary school teachers. The work is divided into two parts. The theoretical part contains information on delay school attendance issues necessary for successful realisation of a pedagogical research. The practical part is focused on answering of defined survey questions and on verification or falsification of the hypothesis. The research is based on the quantity method of questioning (by means of questionnaire and interview) and qualitative method of observation. The survey took place at 24 kindergartens and 7 primary schools taking into account 54 kindergarten teachers and 15 primary school teachers in the region of Říčany. It was found out, that the number of delayed school attendance in the region of Říčany is lower than the average value in the entire Czech Republic. Further, kindergarten and primary school teachers agree, that children often have problems with communication and concentration. Other important findings are that teachers don't feel any difference between children with and without delayed school attendance; they have individual approach to children on the basis of their abilities and needs. Diploma thesis Documentary film in the global development education in high schools deals with the issue of the global development education in conditions of Czech high schools. The aim of the diploma thesis is to introduce possibilities of utilisation of the documentary film as a method of global development education. The theoretical part elaborates on the global development education in the school curriculum and one of it's educational instruments - documentary film. The empirical part is focused on preparedness of the future high school teachers for use of documentary film in the global development education and it is also concerned with their attitudes and knowledges of the theme.

It observes realization of targets included in basic curriculum document of Czech Republic (the Framework Educational Program, theFEP)in school educational programs. It observes realization of targets included in the General Educational Program, the GEP by didactictextbooks. First part of this diploma thesis compares targets of the FEP and some documents which can inspirate teachers at teaching about syntax. The Master's Thesis Piano Education in Spain focuses on the development of the Spanish piano education from the beginning of the 19th century until present. It describes and characterizes general and music education from the pre-school age till adulthood. In the second part, the thesis analyzes historical piano schools and methods of P. Albéniz, E. Compta, P. Tintorer and R. Montalbán which influenced piano pedagogy the most. It also deals with current Spanish piano schools of C. Pérez and M. Carra and with foreign mainly American piano schools and methods of J. Thompson, J. Bastien and F. Clark. In the final part, the thesis draws attention to the current situation of music schools and conservatories and the reaction of the teachers to this situation. Since there is no publication in the Czech language concerning this topic, the aim of the thesis is to introduce to the Czech professional public the topic of Spanish piano education development, the current situation and to introduce piano books for beginners which are not known in the Czech Republic.

Rituals in the school environment, specifically in small schools with composite classes, are the subject of the diploma thesis. The theoretical part describes the environment of the small schools with composite classes in the Czech Republic and the specifics of teaching work in them. They are also discussed the rituals in general terms and the relationship to the hidden curriculum in this part. Specific rituals in contemporary small schools are described in following sections. The research part is conceived as a qualitative analysis of structured interviews with teachers and directors of small schools. The diploma thesis ends with a synthesis of empirical and theoretical part and with interpretation the results. The overlap of topics related to the problem that is mentioned in the conclusion.

Kurbelová, Jana: The individualization of teaching - the school reform of the thirties in the Czechoslovak Republic. The diploma work is primarily focused on the school system reform in 1930s' in Czechoslovakia led by Václav Príhoda. It detaily elaborates a Príhoda's new method of teaching, especially the individual approach to a teacher- pupil relationship. The goal of this diploma work is to analyse the individual approach implementation in detail on a theoretical and practical level. In theory, it is a description and an analysis of the Příhoda's method of the unitary and internally differentiated education with a respect to pupil's individuality. The practical level is represented by conclusions coming from the experimental work focused on theoretical rules in praxis application, provided by reformational schools. This thesis deals with the personal and social development of preschool teachers as one of the possibilities for their further education. The theoretical part describes the current available types of professional competencies of current preschool teachers and focuses on their professional development through personal and social education (PSE). The aim of the empirical part is to create, implement and reflect short-term practical training for kindergarten teachers in selected topics of personal and social education through a form of action research. Selected topics (issue of rules in kindergarten, communication and mental hygiene) came from a questionnaire of interest in education issues of PSE. The aim of the course is skills training and improving of professional competence of teachers in selected areas through self-experience activities. Also the course leads teachers to think about appropriate solutions of problematic educational situations through joint discussion, sharing of professional experiences, reflection and self-reflection of teachers. This work's aim is to chart the extent and the actual forms of cooperation between innovative schools and families at the beginning of school attendance. In this case, innovative school is defined as a school that teaches children to read by the genetic method or that teaches the children in the primary school the Fraus mathematics by authors Hejný, Jirotková, Slezáková-Kratochvílová, Michnová. In the theoretical part, I find out the principles on which both the new concept of Fraus mathematics and the genetic method of reading are based, and I make a link between them and the constructivist conception of teaching as well as the teacher's competences. In a wider context, this work discusses the work with mistake and emphasizes the significance of creativity. In the practical part, I used the method of written questionnaire to find out the actual forms of cooperation between these schools and families before and after the children enter the first class. Also, the questionnaire finds out what are the teachers' crucial urges to change the way of teaching of mathematics and reading as well as what is the positive of this change in the teacher's view.
